Not enough happy threads in here! So I was down earlier. After an hour of telling my fiance about my hurt and opening up my soul, and he felt free to open up his, he paid me what is possibly the biggest compliment of my life that I could get from a life partner: "You're the best friend I've ever had." It's so simple, but it made me cry. I've never heard those words out of a middle-aged man's mouth in such a powerful way. So come on. What's the nicest thing someone said to you? |

"You have the most beautiful cervix I have ever seen!" - said a good looking, charming, young gynecologist Unfortunately half of aforesaid cervix was later operated out. Too bad, I lost my most precious asset... Last edited by Rose of Cairo; 11-07-2007 at 09:29 AM. |

Hmmm I think this is a compliment lol My neighbor wanted me to go for a walk and have coffee at the coffee shop , so we did, I knew her but not all that* well, as we had only been living here a short time mostly just neighbor relationship.... and walking back we sat down and had our coffee at the park, chatting etc...afterwards getting ready to leave then she turns to me and says : "you know , you are the first woman I have ever met , whom I don't feel I have to read through layers of bs, to get to knowthe real person ... who you are on the inside, radiates to who you are on the outside!!.... next day she puts a very nice poem in my mailbox that she wrote to me, I was dumb founded... I thought what did i say that touched her so much, I have never had anyone say this to me before it was quite a kind gesture |

Hahaha. YES. To get back on topic, I thought this was incredibly sweet from my brother: "I really respect that you're growing as a person and making a conscious effort to grow." |

| Ah, sweet brothers. Mine (who is younger, yet infinitely more intellectual, more highly educated, materially successful, etc) recently said, "I am SO proud of you for saying 'f*** it!' to what everyone else says and doing exactly what you want to do with your life. I hope I can be like you when I grow up."

personally, when helping a friend through a hard time: "thank god for you, madge." professionally, after finishing a project that had been attempted many times but never completed: "we've been trying to do this for 30 years. apparently all we needed was a madge!" |
