Improving leadership and connectivity with my team

Hello everybody. I am a high-school student and am involved in my school's DECA club, a group of marketing students that go to business competitions every year where we present case studies to a judge. I am the Vice President and the exec team is in charge of basically almost all operations: funding, planning out meetings, recruiting, marketing, etc.

It seems that I have not taken as good of a leadership role as I should have, or as I want to. At times I have input but it seems that although I have things to say, I do not say them during meetings for whatever odd reason. I don't seem or feel like a leader.

I was wondering what advice you guys have on this and any books on leadership you can recommend me. I am competing with a very competitive person (she won 4 academic awards last year and received the highest overall average out of all the students in my grade level) but I am determined to win and outcompete her. hey...i left highschool in july...i was year 11...and ima now in collage....

in high school i was in several things , such as duke of ediborough and school monitore ect. i was always seen as a leader type ( i dont know why) but if i was then all i can do is suggest what i did to help you.

i always got my point across, no matter what the odds where i would not settle until everone saw my point.

i always voiced anything i thought should be heared,whenever i felt stongly about somehting i would make sure all others new i did and why i did.

if i felt somehting was wrong that some one had said or done i would say why and how it would effect others.

i would make sure that i aranged things , such as meetings , debates , and talks so that others would see an alomst authority with me?

just basically make sure your the one with the big mouth...in a sensible way....and make sure everyhting you want or think is know by others this way people will see your authority...good luck man
