And that might be among the best things that have happened in a long time. I've never knew there were people in my own situation living in the same town wanting to get others to talk to about trouble and try so hard to get out of the bubble and enjoy the world better. I sure hope to find some long term friendship there so I can really get someone to fully respect, honor and like... I also think that people who might know that people in your town can be isolated and need some group talk too could get it. Because getting to know others in the same boat is a true fine experience... Love Leelene |

Leelene, this sounds really nice and is a really good idea. It's so hard to know where to start when you're isolated, but I promise it gets easier. When I first moved to Sacramento, it was really hard for me to get out and make friends because my now ex was very socially awkward and isolated, which means I had to take 100% of the risks! Of course, I dumped the boy and kept the city, but it was 100% worth the risk-taking, and now I have a wonderful new (or not so new now) circle of friends.

In my town of Sundsvall (among the most beautiful towns in the world imo) there is an self-education church-connected institute called Bilda, and that Bilda is connected to a work-force municiple govern programme for depressed and other mental health disorders that is called Minerva. Those two are now with the help of the health care system and maybe also the bureau for work force (is it called like that?) find people that are isolated and mend them together now in these groups of self-help... Boy was that hard to write in English, haha... So I guess that the community is trying to help out in this way and find new ways of keeping people healthy and going. And the best part of it all is that we who are isolated don't have to pay for it, we even get a free cup of coffee and fruits and a peice of cake thanks to Bilda...it is wonderful... Love Leelene |
