| Okay i have no idea what place in the forums i should put this thread, but here it goes. I need new clothing. I truly just wear to stuff i have ended up with. Most the clothing is stuff that people ended up leaving at my place (umm don't ask). I am just intimidated by going cloths shopping. I try to get a friend to go with me, but it always falls through. How do i find clothing that works for me? I have no idea where to start. |

| I usually end up frustrated in the dressing room, being an odd size and build. What Not to Wear and similar shows can really help, but in the meantime, what's your height and measurements and sex?

| Oh. You have a great frame for clothes assuming you don't have a gut! I personally love the jacket and obscure vintage shirt with a darkwash pair of straight leg jeans look. It looks more dressed up for casual, but not nerdy like a polo shirt. No one on earth looks good in unfitted standard shirts. Why in God's name do people keep wearing these things? There's a reason people add jackets and sweaters to a shapeless Oxford longsleeve: IT LOOKS BETTER. A plain shirt looks frumpy. If you have a trim waist, a well-fitted (not tight) shirt is your friend. Dark shoes, always. Just trust me.

| Hey xnez! A few practical things that really worked for me:
But, most of all, wear stuff that feels comfortable to your skin! Good luck! Jim.

| I've always thought that the greater part of the human body ie:the torso should be covered by the darkest shades and the rest used as a compliment. So for example a blue shirt and light blue{or white} stone wash denim jeans for a rough but tastefull look, decent shoes to go with that, say a high end casual loafer or even an obviously expensive sports shoe, a lot can be said about a person by their shoes. Good hair is also important, I don't style my hair but I keep it in good condition, I think good hair is a sign of good health. But I like to mix and match my clothing for each day, some days I may prefer one thing and other days another, its really about instinct and what you prefer. my stats..5ft11 190 lbs

| I second What Not to Wear! They have a book, too. Mostly looking good in clothing is about shape. Get something that fits--really fits (i.e. not too baggy in the shoulders, waist or bum). Second most important thing is color and how you pair colors. Get flattering colors--you won't look good in all colors, so try on a few. Then look at the colors you put together and make sure they go together. Sometimes a colored shirt just looks dowdy next to black pants, but might look great next to brown, tan, or gray slacks. Shoes can dress up jeans for a more polished look. A jacket can do that too. Good luck! |

| Just keep in mind that store clerks might have a tendency to favor the more expensive shirt that looks like **** on you over the cheaper one that makes you look awesome.
