I am 17 years old and a male. Today me and my mom had an argument and she spilled water on me while I was studying. She walked away childishly into the garage after I asked her what was her problem. Then I filled up my cup and poured water on her after she came back later. She just called the police and twisted the story a little and the police didnt even hear my side of the story. He interrupted everytime I tried to say something. He just told me that I was going to get arrested if it happened again. The problem is that this happens a lot. I feel like the police is picking on me because I am a minor or the "weakest link." I say stuff like this is injustice, and it gets nowhere. Is the world really this unfair or can I do something about it? My mom does all kinds of crazy stuff and gets away with it. Lol i know this sounds like the typical weirdo kid saying all this stuff, but i just want to make sure i know the laws and stuff and am being treated fairly. The police doesn't seem all that much like the arbitrator or the protector of justice. |

Well...my parents were strange also. So I waited till I turned 18 - found a job - saved up and left my house I know it sucks but try to deal with it if you can or maybe try telling your mom that what she is doing is not nice. It was kind of TOO much with the police. |

| or what? Sounds like you have a case of a dramatic mother. You wrote your post. If you read this post from another person, what would you advise them to do? This is your mother's home. She is allowed to be dramatic or crazy in her home. Can I ask you this...what was you attempting to accomplish by pouring water on her...besides being childish back? You only have a little more time, then you are legally an adult and can move into your own place with your own rules, and don't even have to have a mother there that calls the cops on you for pouring water on her. Til then, good luck. Roni |

It shits me to read about parents being childish like that. Like some quote for a movie with keanu reeves, "you need a licence to drive a car, hell you even need a licence to own a dog. But any but reamin' ******* can be a father" please excuse the language but i wanted to get the quote right, it's suck with me for years. The thing here is too see if you can rise above all this. If you can learn why and see things through her eyes and understand what drives her, then you will be fine and have learned a valuable lesson. Rise above the childishness, don't react. Other than I can only suggest that maybe there is a mutual friend, an aunt or uncle that can help mediate, or even the school counsellor or something. |
