Communicating with the dead?

How can I do this? It doesn't have to be in a freaky way like they always show in the movies or something, I would like to elevate myself and be able to communicate with the dead, among other things.

This should be easily possible since death is insignificant.

The memory of the dead person is still alive in your mind... so you can always initiate a communication... and see where it leads...

I feel like I may have experienced some partial things, but never really a two way communication, or if it was, it was very subtle and metaphoric.

CoolStuff, I think that's the way it happens sometimes. Shortly after my father died I dreamed he called me on the phone to tell me he was okay. I got enormous relief and positive feelings from that dream. I'm sure there are many who would pooh pooh it and say it was "just" a dream, but I know it was more than that. Sometimes you just know. Follow your intuition.

It's not easily possible, it's almost certainly impossible. They're dead.

Now now, don't listen to JoeBlogs. Dead people are only "mostly dead" as Miracle Max would say.

But seriously, obviously communication with the dead is possible. It's not probable, but it's definitely possible.

Training yourself to hear them is like tuning in on a radio. First you need a radio, then you have to turn it on, turn it up, find the right frequency, and not freak out when you hear/see/feel something. But yeah, read my articles in the Psychic Development section of my blog for more on this.

Here's my way of communicating with the dead, but it seems to be different for everyone:

1) there's a mention of someone's death by someone who knew them well.
2) there's an opportunity for the dead spirit to speak to me (I'm open to it, quite simply).
3) the dead spirit has a message to give to someone through me, and I say it without thinking.

That's pretty much it.

Focus on improving your intuition, and your trust in it. That helps immensely.

I do this all the time then with my poetry because that is EXACTLY* what happens to me , in fact I even told my physcologist about it, when it started happening, as it was confusing me ...... and she just blew it off as no big deal
yet she could not tell me why this was happening or did she ever call it automatic writing....... she did not relate it to mental illness though

Sure. Easiest way would be to use an Oujia board. You may get all sorts of riffraff characters coming through, though. The kind that are bored and wanna play.

And you'll discover that people (or their souls) don't necessarily become wiser or smarter, after passing to the other side.

I have always found communicating with the dead to be highly dangerous and taboo.

Im highly empathic and I tend to get emotions from things that are no there sometimes. I guess these are spirits, but I do everything in my power to not comminicate with them. I always felt treading on gods ground is stupid.

While you may think different far be it for me to stop you. Im just warning you in my experiances dealing with the dead is a bad idea.
Opening your self up to spirits is like saying come in and have fun with me... letting other entities into your being I feel is dangerous.

Mediums that allow ghosts to use them to speak etc scare me because you never know what else will be using you. Because when she channeled my friends cousin's spirit about 8 other entities came through as well five of them were giving off incredibly dark emotions. The fact that 8 other peoples emotions were coming from one woman was horrifying for me.

Dealing with the dead scares the hell out of me.

I don't believe communicating with the dead is possible... Once people are dead they're never supposed to have anything to do with this Universe again... You can only really communicate with your memory of someone who once was...

Easiest way would be to use an Oujia board.

I thought ouija board users were primarily subjected to the ideomotor effect, so that while you think you're getting a "real" message, it's actually your muscles slightly twitching and moving unconciously, going to the specific letters and spelling out words and phrases that you attribute to something supernatural.

And, from the Wikipedia entry on ouija boards:

"Magicians Penn & Teller performed a similar demonstration in an episode of their television show Bull****! in which the operators moved the planchette into what they thought was the positions of "yes" and "no" without knowing that the board was turned upside-down, which caused them to move the planchette into blank spaces on the board."

there's a lot of different ideas on here about the deceased done with adequate protection in place its really rewarding communicating with spirit their not all bad and those Ive come across personally haven't really been bad just lost or can not except that they have past over however i have never heard a good word said for ouija boards

If you read Jane Roberts, I think you may have a different view.

Jane Roberts and her husband started communicating with "Frank Withers" (later known as "Seth") through an oujia board. Very quickly, the oujia board became redundant and Seth started communicating with Jane's husband, through Jane's body directly.

That is, full-blown channelling, with voice change; Jane taking on very different mannerisms, accent, personality etc.

By the way, I live in Asia, a part of the world where not many people have actually heard the term "oujia board" (which is, I think, European in origin). However, different Asian cultures have their own version of an "oujia board" - the board is just designed (very) differently, and is known by other names.

So it seems universal ..... Just like "ghosts" are universal .... they appear in every culture, unlike, say, "werewolves" or "leprechauns".

See thats what I mean, that scares the hell out of me. I dont want to let who ever is out there into my body. Who knows what the hell your letting in.

You don't have to let an entity inside you to communicate with it.

People who channel tend to be of very high vibration so they can handle that sort of thing. It's not something I myself do so I can't really comment with any expertise, but that is generally what I know.
