Default Tarot/Angel Cards

Do you guys believe these work? I bought some angel cards today, and was fairly impressed with the result tonight.

Any thought, tips, experiences? ...

They definitely work for me when I use them on myself. But I think it's partially just that they help unlock my own subconsious thoughts. Not sure if I could actually do them on someone else.

I once had a pyschic use them on me, and was very impressed by his results. That's what got me interested in them to begin with.

(I don't know what Angel cards are, and was just talking about Tarot.)

I've had great tarot readings from psychics who probably didn't need the cards. I find they are just a tool. I don't use them at all. I get my information directly from Source.

Steve and I have the Angel cards and we used them once with great success to get somewhere on time even though we were in a huge traffic jam (it's a really long story but suffice it to say, they directed us and we got to our destination with a minute to spare)

But in general, I think that if you're a bad psychic and you use cards, you still give a bad reading, and if you're a good psychic and you use cards, you give a great reading. I think tarot cards are limiting since when you are plugged in directly to source you can hear and see a much bigger, more detailed story.

Once in awhile my skeptical wife will do something to "encourage" me, despite herself. Evidence of her love, I guess. Anyway, while on an outing with a friend of her's in Capitola, she came across a shop that sold Angel cards, thought of me, and bought a set for me.

I've used them in a formal sense only a few times. As mentioned by previous posters, cards like these basically allow your subconscious to "speak", and I found them to be very effective in this regard. I haven't used them much lately as a spread, primarily because I just don't take the time.

What I will do, however, is perform a light shuffle and then pick one card right before a meditation session in the morning. I take this as a sign of what I need to focus on or be aware of for that day. Again, it's basically a tool for communicating with my subconscious. The interesting thing is that sometimes for several days in a row I will pick the same card! I guess that particular message is worth repeating.

Hi Michelle,
Do you mean use them for divination? I know that's the current tradition for Tarot cards. They have other, more enlightening uses.

The Game of Man? No I didn't. When and why, Richful?

I find that whenever I use the tarot, it seems to be more of an insightful reflection on my own conscious and unconscious state of mind than anything else, with a logical cause/effect of the present state projected into the future.

I don't know exact dates, not even sure when Tarot was created (who is? the historians all say different times, reasons and creators). I take it on the guidance of some friends, see the links below.

Your use of Tarot is how I find it as a divination tool, it tells me where I am and what is likely if I continue as I am now. For meditation they are different entirely. I am not an expert on this just a green beginner. I've spoken on other posts about subconciousness and creating suggestions it accepts, one way is symbolism. Symbolism is the language of the subconcious mind, just look at your dreams.

The symbolism in the Tarot cards, originally, was very specific. It was, and is, intended to evoke a form of conciousness within you. If your interested I highly suggest you visit both sites, particularly BOTA. While the multitude of Tarot decks available today are wonderful for divination and often very beautiful I would debate their usefulness for this form of meditation.

For another perspective on symbolism, conciousness and ritual I'd also highly recommend the works of Joseph Campbell such as "Hero of a thousand faces" or "Power of Myth". I'd known about his work for a while (How could any Star Wars fan not be??) but only recently picked up Hero.

In short order Campbell has reached the heights of me personal hero list.
What can I say? He was the man who said "Follow your Bliss!" What better advice could anyone receive?

Default I thought....

I thought if you get a psychic reading or a tarot card reading you are changing your life path. I was always taught to stray away from that because it is mundane and also you are not suppose to know what will happen in your life. Is that true? Are we suppose to walk here on earth not knowing what to do and to expect the unexpected?

Default Thank you Erin Pavlina!

Many people say many different things about getting a psychic reading and the fact that you can't trust people because they always have some kind of scham to get over on you doesn't help. But the one important thing that always keeps people wondering is this, if you are suppose to be working for God why are you charging for the reading? Especially if you are suppose to be working for God. I am not trying to step on anyone's toes but it is a valid question that creates skeptics.

Yet another great article from Erin:

Why do you charge for readings?

You might also get something out of reading Steve's article Lightworker Syndrome - it's one I've read several times!

Default Thank You Carenkh!

I found the two articles to resonate throughout my life experiences. I now understand why Erin Pavlina charges for her reading. She is, and has focused on being the best person she can be ,to not only help herself but others. The article Lightworker Syndrome has left me in complete awe-I guess in a sense I'm scared of reaching my highest potential, I'm scared of what I'm capable of doing so I've created boundaries to make my negative thoughts my reality. Thank you once again for the two articles they were very informative and extremely helpful.

Angel cards hold a healing energy to them and is good for quick yes no answer questions and guidance, alot different to tarot cards.

I would suggest anyone who's new to working with the angel cards to try to work with the cards without using the book, if you pay attention to much to what the actual book descriptions say you will find it may block your intuition.

So try working with the cards without looking up the meaning and going with the feeling you get from them, and then have a look after and see if any of it makes sense!

The cards mean something different for everyone, it is never one set meaning. x

I'm glad you got something out of them - Lightworker Syndrome totally rocked my world, and continues to do so. LOTS of stuff there to look at... and change!
