on right track with dream interpretation?

here's the dream summary:


i'm a member of a seaside village and witness large meteor crash into the ocean, it was awesome! i quickly realized there was going to be some kind of after shock... an iceberg pops up at the impact site and the ocean grows still and it quickly becomes dark, shortly after that the tidal waves begin, everyone leaves except me. My house, although not built to withstand the waves, miraculously takes the pounding. I was amazed how safe I felt, me against the waves, inside the house. I tried to get outside information on a tv set that was still working, i think one channel was broadcasting, no news. I felt isolated and alone.

First thing I do is pick out what images may just have come from the brain regurgitating stuff it's digested during waking life. Then, I think about what these images mean to me, the associations I've developed with those images over a lifetime as well as what their emotional impact was in the context of the dream. I then consider the resulting statement in the context of "personal psychology report", then as portents, and whatever won't fit in either I chock up to going on a subconscious holiday (but mark the imagery in case it pops up again.) I hope this helped. That's a very image-rich and action-filled dream you got there! Would be a shame to see it all go to Freud, though of course... could be, could be.

Hi Rod. Anytime you dream of water, pay very close attention to it's make-up and color. Each aspect of the water in your dream represents your waking life or something soon to come in your waking life. Your dream does not have the greatest Foretell behind it but all in all; everything will turn out fine.

For the water to be dark, large waves and rough waters symbolizes and fortells of some sort of uphieval. This may be emotional, financial, ect. (For me, it usually comes to pass within a maximum of a weeks time)

Your home withstanding this water and your feeling of safety is a sign that you can handle whatever is surrounding you at the moment or handle whatever is to come. It is to inform you that you have the strength to overcome whatever comes at you.

I have learned that the water dreams are not specific as to the magnitude of the situation though. I can have a water dream and 4 days later have something happen that draws me to tears and within 1 day, i've pulled my way through or the opposite will occur and it will be something of greater scale.

To dream of clear blue water, stilled water is to fortell peace and a period of genuine happiness. It foretells good fortune as I've always found this to be true as well.


You could take this dream another direction and state it was something of the future but I have a hard time decifering when my dreams are futuristic or not until the event actually occures and I have an "Ah ha" moment so I wouldn't be the best one to disect your dream in this manner. I would say this is NOT a futuristic dream though only because you state the type house you were in would NOT have withstood the storm in a true life situation.

I went outside to smoke and 1 other thought came to mind.

We all are creators of our own realities therefore what we perceive is what creates our realities in current day situations.

I noticed that you referenced the dream may be speaking of a sexual foretell or have a sexual undercurrent.

If you perceive waters, storms and ect. to be of a sexual nature, it could very well be that your intuitive thinking then responds with a message that would relay the interpretation you would give it.

Example: If I perceive 1 thing to have an underlying foretell or message, my guides, my soul would bring me a dream carrying that 1 thing so that I would perceive it in the way they intended it to be read.

So all in all, dreams really do not have 1 way of being read. I read your dream as I would have seen it being mine. I am 100% possitive that if I had dreamt what you spoke of, I'd experience a down fall within the next week but would overcome whatever it was. For you, it may represent something different.

Had to throw this in there as I do not like to leave things open if there could be another answer to the equation.
