In what ways has having psychic or ESP ability enhanced your life?

Many people who have these abilities have gone through the ‘Dark Night of Soul’ at some point. I experienced varying degrees of agonizing over ‘why me’ and wanting to be normal when I was younger.

The pathways through gaining mastery over my abilities have felt intrepid at times and required high degrees of trust in my spiritual support team and myself. Using my psychic abilities to do readings for clients as challenged me on grow on deeply personal levels with regards to compassion, responsibility, integrity and the transformation of preconceived personal/moral judgments.

The benefits to myself and those close to me, of being able to share the insights, wisdom, and knowledge from spirit, by far outweigh the challenges and I thought it would be good to hear some of the positive benefits from others, from both readers/healers and anyone who has sought guidance from them.

Interesting post Lallymac. I definitely went through my own 'dark night' and I think that it many ways this time of going 'deep' is what connected me much more to my intuition and psychic senses. The main way that the psychic has helped me is with communication and understanding - my experiences a fuller because I'm getting a bigger picture of what is going on. I've found that the deeper that my awareness of these abilities becomes the more I realize (for myself) that spiritual connectedness is what is most important for me.

I've found that the more connected I am with spirit, the deeper connections I have with myself, the physical world and people I come in contact with. It takes you past the superficial facades.

Over the years i've wished many times to be plugged back into the matrix because as the character in the movie says "i know none of this is real but I don't care". Having psychic ability can be as much a curse as a benefit to anyone, but I have to say even though it hasn't given me riches it has given me one thing, meaning.

1) my faith has become rock solid, and I have a better inner strength to cope with things

2) I have learned to trust / regardless of understanding it

3) I see people from the inside out, instead of outside in (of masks and pretenses... )
And i am effected greatly by this....(guess this is Empathy). some make my soul jump with joy!! some make me feel anxious and sick

4) I don't see the world in black and white terms as i use to

Yes this is true for me as well. Psychic abilities and especially the ability to speak with the dead has solidified my connection with "home." I feel safer and more inspired to help others realize their connection with the ether as well. I think that when people remember where they came from it gives them a better perspective for living their life here on earth.

It's useful to never permanently lose things A couple days ago I'd misplaced a cordless phone, looked around for several minutes with the pager going to no avail. Then I hand dowsed for it and found it within 20 seconds without even bothering to turn on the light in the room it was in. It had been under a cushion, hence why the pager hadn't helped. A decade ago I used hand dowsing for when I couldn't find my arrows after archery practice. More traditionally it's used for finding where to dig a well, and most people seem to use a stick rather than simply following their hands (I'm a minimalist )

As for other psychic abilities, at this point I usually try to stay more grounded, focusing on friends, exercise, naps, and eating meat (I'd never eaten much meat until seeing Gabriel Cousens recommend it for grounding energy, and have since found I feel much lighter without it). I find that high sensitivity isn't so useful unless/until one knows how to deal with all the extra input. After spending several years taking down barriers and working on developing abilities, now I'm more oriented toward making judicious use of barriers, though it's occasionally tempting to let them back down again

I get this too Lallymac. A nice effect of this is how it doesn't even seem to matter if I'm talking "small talk" with someone - as long as the depth is there, no talk is small - even when I'm talking about the weather...I no longer 'push' for a communication to be something other than what it already is because all the depth in the world is happening right there, right now...in many ways an increase in psychic abilities has really humbled me to seeing that all people are what they are and do what they do for reasons that are important to them.

Openeyes: My youngest daughter's Dad was land surveyer and Reiki Master. He used find buried survey pegs dowsing with his feet. His work partner would be pouring over the plans and he'd just walk around section and say they're here, here and here (could never find his clothes in his dresser though :-)).

Reflections: I remember going through a personal crisis quite a few ago and asking (no I was yelling at them) my guides what I was meant to be learning. Christ appeared by my bed that night and said 'Humility.' The art of being humble. I can honestly say now that people and life have humbled me too.

Nice and succinct.
Personally, I've got a "short list" too, because the more defined list is quite still in progress I'm sure.
