astral projection turned lucid dream

This morning I finally consiously astral ly projected out of my body. ( I have found I usually can do it in dreams no problem) Anyway the last few times I have tried and managed to get my whole self out except for my head!! and I know this because i can feel my astral body over there yet my thoghts are still in my physical head.

Ths morning I decided to try a different way to get my head out, instead of rolling out like I have been trying, I did a very fast V-sit up- anyway it worked my thought process was with my astral body and i stood there looking at my physical body. I looked at my astral body and noticed the white around it with a silver sort of iredensent (hard to describe) color. Anyway i started to think as i stood there "Okay now what? What should I do now that i am out?" I thought I guess i can go check on the kids nd my husband down stairs see if they can see me.

At this point it must have turned into a lucid dream, as when i went downstairs, my husband wasn't home and the kids were not in their P.j.s that they had beem in a half before. Also my sister was there learning something from a man i have never seen. Anyway the kids saw me and said Mommy go get back in your body. which I replied "but don't you think it's cool, I think it's kind of neat." They then went about there own business - I asked my mother"so you can see me like this?" She just ignored me and my sister looked back at me and then went about her business.

I turned around to go back up stairs, and the next thing I knoww Iwas standing in the same spot starrring at my body and thought "I guess i should get back in there" so i kinda just jumped on the bed at myself as iwasn't really sure how to get back in. Sure enough I got back in and my physical bolted open.

So after my long story, next time i conciously astral project myself out, how can I stay conscious to go visit places, without it turning into a lucid dream??

And also can you astrally project yourself while doing other things than mediation??

Any insights would be helpful.

From a laboratory study, we have concluded that OBEs can occur in the same physiological state as lucid dreams. Wake-initiated lucid dreams (WILDs) were three times more likely to be labeled "OBEs" than dream initiated lucid dreams. If you believe yourself to have been awake, then you are more likely to take the experience at face value and believe yourself to have literally left your physical body in some sort of mental or "astral" body floating around in the "real" physical world. If, on the other hand, you think of the experience as a dream, then you are likely to identify the OBE body as a dream body image and the environment of the experience as a dream world.

I just thought of the above when I read your post and sifted through my StumbleUpon stumbles to find it :D Otherwise, while not very experienced myself (only once -- floated a bit above my body and then crash-landed back in, and didn't try it again,) I heard that projection is more a matter of tuning in to where an energy-self is, which frequently occupies the body but not always... could be wandering elsewhere... mental (used in remote viewing), etheric (what you meant to do), or astral, an OBE can shift between them. So maybe you just tuned in a different frequency?

On the other hand if it was a dream, it was a lucid one meaning you could consider it's a dream and take action from there, and maybe meditate into the etheric (I googled jinn science, and found it defined etheric projection as an energy-body moving through time, so maybe try to make the lucid dream involve time travel? Just guessing now.)
