Ok, so many people have it that I have now shifted my belief. I think they are artifacts of brain activity, nothing more. Maybe a neutrino, which constantly blast through us from cosmic rays, struck some nerve on the way through.

I found this thread while searching through Google

Just last night I saw a flash of blue light (think it flashed about three or four times very quickly) underneath my dressing table.

Have actually been going through a tough time and was asking for a sign at the time (like I have many times before), and voila, the lights appeared.

Perhaps though, maybe I think am I reading too much into this? Why did I get the sign now and not before when I've asked? And, is there anyway to encourage the spiritual activity to continue?

I found this after I had a strange expereince. I was laying in bed in a dark room last night and I started seeing bright royal blue flames burning in front of my eyes..I have never had anything like that happen to me before but it was very intense. Has anyone had similar experiene??

Some of what you all are describing could be physical phenomenon of the eye and the brain. Sparks and shimmering bright lights to the side of your field of view can indicate a migraine headache developing. This can occur even without the actual pain of a headache. I’ve had the shimmering lights in the corner of my vision several times and that can last for a few minutes. Usually, the shimmering lights seem to change position in the visual field and can even develop blind spots. My eyesight always returns to normal and I’ve never had the pain that some people get during a migraine.

The sparks usually occur for me when I’ve done something as simple as bending over to pick something up and then standing upright. That slight change in blood pressure will sometimes but rarely cause me to see the squiggling sparks coming from the sides toward the center of vision. They usually disappear before getting to the center of my field of vision.

Also, in the retina, there is a substance called visual purple that can retain the stimulation of light for seconds to even minutes after turning out the lights to darkness. It will seem to flow, expand and contract in sometimes repetitive motions and in different colors and seem to be right in front of your eyes.

After-images can linger for minutes too and can be seen as the opposite color to what was just viewed. Stare at an orange spot and close your eyes and you’ll see a latent green spot image that will slowly fade away.

Try this experiment sometime when you get up in the middle of the night and your eyes are used to the dark. Keep one eye tightly closed and turn on the light for a few seconds. Turn off the light and then open your closed eye. You’ll probably notice that the eye that was exposed to the light sees a purplish or bluish hue with pulsating edges on the periphery of your vision.

Here’s another experiment to try. With the lights on and your eyes open, look straight ahead. Using a fingertip, gently press your eyelid against your eyeball near the edge of your eye socket. You should see a dark spot at the opposite side of your field of vision in that eye. Now close your eyes and press again. You’ll probably see that the dark spot has a lighted edge. In complete darkness, gently pressing the eyeball can cause a radiating halo affect in the opposite side of your vision in that eye.

After having said all that, I’ll state that I have no doubt that some of you are seeing things that are actually occurring in the environment and not simply eye-brain phenomenon. I’ve seen motion picture footage of bright points of light behaving in intelligent and even aggressive ways, so that type of evidence is very compelling and should be researched.

Now there probably are electrical and atmospheric situations that we do not know of that can cause some orbs and streaks of light, but in other cases it cannot be explained as natural occurring events.

Just remember, high electromagnetic frequencies (EMF) in close proximity to you can cause hallucinations, so that is another factor to consider. Unshielded electrical wiring and electronic devices can produce high EMF radiation. Typically, some people will also feel paranoia, irritation, and feelings of being watched when near high EMF.

All I can suggest is to keep your camera phones and video cameras handy and try to photograph what you’re seeing.

well... seeing as I just saw one of these blue lights, first thing I had to do was google it

I'm a spiritual person, although for me mostly seeing is believing and I follow no religion - other than that I believe in something greater than us, and in a spiritual world.

Sooo... I'm just getting ready to take the 2 kids out (I'm 34, they 4 & 6) light is off in their bedroom, and as I walk in, open the wardrobe, a t-shirt falls out - so I pick it up.... and as I pick it up, I glance over at their beds and notice a blue light on top of the duvet cover.

As it's dark, I presumed it was a light on one of their many toys, it disappeared after 2-3 secs.

Upon checking the bed.... I was kinda surprised to find - no toys...

Now I'm a bit of a skeptic and always believe in what I see (generally), so accept various explanations for different phenomena until I actually SEE it myself.

On this occasion I'm feeling a little enlightened lol - there was no movement of the light, it wasn't "in front" of my eye - it was about the size of a Blue LED and was sat firmly ON the duvet cover (ie - it didn't move as I moved my head (and I was in the process of standing up from picking up the t-shirt).

Thought I'd share that with you as it's only just happened!

That is a strong indication that what you saw was actually there. Any family pets that passed away that used to curl up on the beds?

You may be correct. However, there is no scientific research either way to make such claims about it all being brain activity vs. some of it being environmental phenomenon. It could be that LSD opens up awareness of things that we normally cannot see along with temporarily cross wiring the brain so a person sees actual parts of their imagination as seeming to be external. If hallucinations are glimpses of the dream state and those images happen to overlay what we normally see with mind-images that seem to be positioned independent from our point of view, then yeah, you would be correct in your assumption. As previously stated, I have seen photographic evidence of lights doing really odd stuff, such as looping through the head of a person and this person winding up with a headache right after.

I joined this forum as my search for answers led me here. Before I describe my flashes experience I will describe my orb experiences since others mentioned there's. I have in the past been healed by two orbs and attacked later by another. I had a broken tooth and my head was so swollen I couldn't work and I was laying in bed staring at my bird cage when a multi blue colored slow moving orb floated toward me. I stared at it in absolute aww and wondered if it was real when it slowly floated to the left corner of the room, watching it I had to turn my head all the way left. The orb then floated slowly to the right corner of the room, assuring me it was real from me having to move my head completely in two directions. Then the orb came so close I could touch it and I remember thinking "This is the most amazing experience" and seconds later I thought about touching it when it floated right and dissapeared into a constellation galaxy poster on my wall. Immediately following in the same pattern as the first orb, a smaller and faster gold orb leaving gold shimmers in its trail, spead through the room and also disappeared into the poster. I fell asleep and awoke to complete health, no swelling, no pain nothing. The next day I found out that my Fathers Mother had passed the night before, The same night as my healing orb experience.

Months later I was physically and mentally attacked by a green orb with a red ring on the outside that was visible only from a camera flash. The experience was actually scary when I looked back at the pictures and saw the orb had transformed a few times into a penis and tried to allign with my chakras. Creepy huh.

Ok Now moving onto the flashes within the last year I have met people who have assisted me in many ways on my path of life. I started seing flashes while in the company of a friend who had started helping me and I noticed the flashes grew in number and intensity as the visits increased. One time I viewed seriously hundreds of thousands of flashes that left me intoxicated I felt like I was floating.
Another experience was with a different person and not as dramatic, this experience was of 4 flashes that were visible when the person began to touch me.

wow that was worth a read about everything youve said, how did the green orb attack you, I mean you said you saw it in a foto ....what did you feel at that time as it was trying to suck up your energy? sorry I am very curious.

atomlala, i agree that was very interesting to read. most of my spiritual/unexplainable-in-3d-terms experiences happen through feelings, vibrations, not so much through visual experiences. i've seen the flashes of light but never seen an orb as far as i know. but sometimes at night i'll see very small silvery orb shapes in the back yard. they wiggle around when i look at them, like they know i'm looking and are saying hello. but they don't fly around really, they basically stay in the same place.

anyway, most of my experiences with this type of thing happen through feeling, what i call energetic touch. so it's quite interesting for me to learn about the experiences that show up in a different way. thanks for sharing this story

I started getting these blue/indigo and white sparks very recently too. It all started when I starred at people. I'd see these flashes of light, even in the dark or light of day. Then I started seeing them all over the place. From none to a few times a day, they're very common. They appear for a second or two and then disappear. Sometimes they are more persistant, but this is more rare.

These sparks appear to me when I am quiet and/or relaxed usually, I barely see them at work.

There have been times where I've seen different colors too. Once I saw a dirty yellow spark close to my mother's mouth and asked her if she had some sort of tooth ache and it turned out to be the case. Once I also saw a red spark on a friend's head and I am almost certain this was some form of warning that he wasn't going too well or was troubled...

No thats fine ask away... I had just got home from work when I noticed my neck and shoulder area were starting to hurt. Half hour later I was in so much pain I decided to take a shower in attempts to ease the muscles. Before I undressed I decided to close the blinds in the living room and I noticed the light above the apt door directly in front of my apt was flickering a strange pattern. I took off my shirt and turned my back against the mirror to see if I could see if the area was red, For some strange reason no matter what way I turned I couldnt see the area clearly so I grabbed the camera and snapped a shot. The area was swollen and red but something else was in the photo a little green light. I decided to take another picture. I ended up with aprox 15 really detailed scary pictures of the orb. If you would like to see them I can figure out a way to send a few to your e-mail, I just dont want to share them with the entire world. Ohh and I never ended up in the shower. I remember having breathing issues that night and when I decided to get dressed and look outside I observed a windy monsoon.

I've intuitively seen a lot of glowing green and a few other colored objects attached mostly to people's backs, including the neck and head, but I've seen them internal as well. These particular things are what I refer to as parasitic entity scenarios. Most small entities are attached to one organ but they can be hooked into a couple of organs depending on how and for what reason they were attached. There is an emotional component to our organs and the lungs are associated to grief. These scenarios feed upon the emotional energies. I've helped numerous people permanently remove these parasites by finding the original event scenario where the entity was attached, and then have the person use the hand-body movements as described in my adapted EIT: Emotion Interrupt Technique. That's my long description. I'll post my shorter Quick-Clear Method of the EIT if anyone is interested.

I too see blue flashes of light. I first noticed them a year and a half ago shortly after I started my career as a clinical massage therapist. EVERY time I work I see atleast one flash during the day, only during the massage sessions. At first I thought it was just the spa I worked at because it had black marble floors that reflected the overhead lights (I thought my eyes were playing tricks), but then I gave my friend a massage at her house and saw the same blue light. I've worked at 3 different spas and see the same blue light at each one and I only see them when I'm massaging someone. I don't know what all of this means, but I keep researching and the things I'm finding out are making sense. Also, for the past couple of weeks I just happen to look at a digital clock at either 11:11 or 4:44, it happens am and pm. I will wake up at 4:44am. There are so many mysterious things in this world, but I do believe them all to have meaning. All I know is that the more I meditate on connecting with the source or "God," the more coincidence seems like fate. I don't know the answers, but I'm searching and keep being lead farther down the rabbit hole. It's a long journey to enlightenment, but I'm confident that I'm on the right path.

yep the sparks intensify when i am trying to look at auras...yes trying still trying!And then sometimes i see this white orb that is more than a spark in the corner of my vision field and it stays on as long as i look off centered.

I'm not sure but I suspect that these blue sparks my related to an out of body experience I had at age 19, shortly after the death of my grandfather. One night while falling asleep I had a spontaneous OBE in which I found my self floating out of my body and up to a corner of the room. During this experience I could see my physical body down below me in my bed, but another circular energy body around me as I floated. This energy bodies was a translucent blue and looked to be rather large, but it may have appeared so because of it's closeness to my point of vision, which was very clear, like a high density perception. On the edges of this blue energy body there appeared to be inch long electric arcs of varying uniformity completely surrounding the sphere. These sparks seemed to be interacting with the environment surrounding the sphere. I remember at one point bumping into something as I floated up and being surprised. I have since suspected this was the ceiling but don't know why I would not have floated through. It is interesting to me to read of the posting of others that they have seen such colors in the auroras of others and wonder if we all have these energy bodies.

I just logged into this site and say your question. I cannot believe I found someone else that see's this. I am so excited. For soooo many years I have been in the quest of finding answers for this. I've asked many doctors of all trades. No answers. Do you see other colors also? My colors started out blue like neon almost the color of the? In the circle. Now they are many shades and multiple of colors. Also white with a quick silver bright shine. Do you see those? Sorry, I'm just so excited, I have so many questions.

I have been seeing blue lights since I was around 16, now 36. I don't know what made me decide to look up blue lights on the computer today. For many years when I tried looking it up I could never find anything. Now I have found a few sights. I'm just really excited to find other people that have this experience. It is definitely weird. Asking doctors were hard. They look at you like your coo-coo. I have asked in probably every trade. They always came up with something in your eye or reflection. I don't know you name it they said it. I tried to ask someone in Silvia Browns chat room 6 years ago they said I should ask an eye doctor. Ever since then I got discourage and haven't pursued it till now. Thank you modern technology. When I first started seeing the lights I also would see the numbers11:11 I was pretty freaked out about it because I was young and didn't know what the heck was wrong with me. I was scared to ask people, thinking they would total think I was weird. Always on the clock, address, grocery receipts, a book someone gave me, "be here now" have you ever looked at the price of the book? once on the reflection of a pond followed by a voice in my head that said Solomon. Freaked me out back then. Now the numbers are in triples. 3:33, 4:44 everywhere. Hardly see my 11:11 anymore. Kind of miss it. It was weird because I know in my heart it meant something. Just couldn't find an answer. I often see it on people, but it will be cars or just random places and times. The blue started changing shades and started seeing different colors when I was about 20. Sometimes I would just randomly ask people if they just had a family member or friend pass away, or if a part of their body was hurting, but of course afraid of being considered a freak never went past the question. I guess I was just trying to find an answer. I see this cool color now too for the last couple years that is white with like a star you would see in the sky. That bright shine. thought this was the right thread to put in my experience.....

these days I have been aware that i see orbs when my eyes are shut, most of them white, sometimes blue or green. sometimes the orbs outline a person and most of the times they are just circles. they remain for sometime as long as i focus and hten disappear when i divert myself.
I wonder if anyonbe of you have had this and what are your thoughts on this.(mjust hoping this isnt some physical condition related to vision!)

During my last meditaton, I also saw a flash of light in my third eye.

A lot has been written about this in Autobiography of a Yogi, by Paramahansa Yogananda.

He details it extensively, as a universal experience on the spiritual path.

This book is a must read for anyone wanting to go deep.

I found this website while searching on the web to find out why I see colored flashes of light. I always figured it had something to do with spiritual development, rather than pathology. And now I find that I'm not the only one.

For about five or six years I've been seeing flashes of clear sapphire blue in my field of vision. This coincided with practicing Reiki, and Reconnective Healing. I feel good when it happens, like the Universe is giving a High Five. I love this color, and recently it has become interspersed with indigo and purple. It happens about five to 20 times a day, and they vary in size. As others have related, it also coincided with an awareness of 1111, or other master numbers, especially 333.

I think the Archangel Michael and spirit guide explanations make sense, but have also wondered if they are glimpses of a higher dimension.

Ok, so I don't think I have ever written in blogs like this before. Also, I have no experience with anything psychic, or with readings and some of the stuff here is like Greek to me. However, here's my experience with the blue flashes of light.

I was setting up a computer in my room waiting for my students to come back from specials when my next door teacher came in to ask me if I was taking pictures in the classroom. The door we share was open. I asked her what she was talking about and she said that she saw a bunch of very bright blue flashes of light coming from my room. Later we figured out that the flashes came from a couple of feet behind where I was standing, she could not see me from where she was. Keep in mind this is a brightly lit room in the middle of the day with the windows open. Some of her students also saw it and it was so bright she stopped teaching to come ask me. She must have been about 30 feet away from me at the time. This happened a few months after my sister passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.

Well, flash forward to last night. Almost a year and a half has passed. I 'm in the bathroom getting ready for bed and my wife comes in and says in a strange voice that she saw something. I must have given her an unbelieving look because she got upset and would not tell me what she saw. Then as we were going to bed she told me that she had put our 9 month old daughter to bed and went to close the door to the bathroom next to her room. When she saw a very bright blue flash of light in the mirror, first out of her peripheral vision and then she was able to focus in on it. It lit up the whole bathroom in a ocean-blue light. It went away and the bathroom went dark again. At the exact time this happened, I was in our bathroom (different bathroom) in front of the mirror brushing my teeth.

I have been seeing white flashes of light for the past couple of months. They appear to be white in colour and range from just a flash to streak. They always appear where my TV is in my room also where my desktop PC is. It's not my desktop PC as the lights only appear between 12.30am and 2.00am while I am in bed listening to music. I personally am scared of the paranormal and get quite a fright when it happens. Any clarification on this would be highly appreciated

For the past year and a half I have experienced very small blue flashes of light that only last for about a second or two. I decided to google this very thing and found this discussion here. After reading the first few responses, I was very turned off by the archangel explanations but chose to read on anyhow. I am thankful for the few who have responded with the possible physiological explanations of this phenomenon and am also thankful for all that share their experiences and thoughts minus the narrow minded viewpoint by the individual who will not accept a non-christian explanantion. I do not consider myself religious by any means, but the term spiritual may well be applied. I know that there is much beyond our understanding and am very open minded to the truth, wherever that may lead me.
My experience started after completely crushing the lowest vertebrae(c7) in my neck after a motorcycle accident. The injury caused extensive damage to my nerves feeding the underside of my arms and definitely shocked my spinal cord. I experienced temporary paralysis, for the most part, from my chest down for the first 5 minutes after the crash. I have also experienced sensations of partial numbness and hypersensitivity as my nerves regenerated. I have tried to understand this experience of seeing flashes of blue light as they seemed to show up shortly after my accident. I am torn between the two possibilities of it being merely physiological or the result of higher self awareness or enlightenment. As my accident could have easily caused paralysis or death, I have certainly experienced a shift in awareness and appreciation for life. I have always sought knowledge that pertains to self awareness and appreciate the value of hallucinogenic drugs as they have opened my mind to things unseen, both of myself and the world around us and have helped me with my own spiritual growth. A few other notes on the phenomenon of seeing energy, if I may call it that. I often see that blue light when I am on the computer or watching television although it can happen anywhere. Also, I can see at will little rays of light when I look at the sky. They remind me of what I would think that the electrons in an atom would appear like if they were visible. There are hundreds or even thousands of them that are visible and the seem to be going in everywhich direction. They are white rays of light and are very small. They do not continue in one direction but seem to disappear after a very short movement and are then replaced with others. Has anyone else experienced this? Energy seems to be the best description for both of these phenomenon, whether that is spiritual energy or physiological energy.
