I would personally say all reasons and meanings are mind made, you would be quite hard pressed to convince me of any reason. That being said said you have me quite curious as well, and I would enjoy the discussion.

When the first soul incarnated, (God), It was taken to a timeless realm where only (s)he should rule. In this, (s)he created multiple smaller realms and an existing multi-universe. When this was created, God placed existing souls throughout the multi-universe, as to make them find their place with God himself(herself).

With the souls placed, given three bodies (Spirit, Concious, and Physical) there was no evil in the entire multi-universe. But as time lapsed (as in figment, time does not exist) the souls began to wish for more, they opened their hearts to raw emotions which created evil. This evil was so great for the souls, they wanted it to make them stronger and higher than God. But when they would die, the soul would reincarnate into three fresh bodies. Starting anew, away from evil. But if the good of the soul stood strong, the soul would reincarnate to a higher realm.

There are three energies that exist in the multi-universe, Light, Darkness, and Gray.
To form a balance, God created a realm that resides below God's own, which holds three great dieties that control one of three energies. If a soul were to plunge into purity with one of three energies, they would incarnate and replace the existing diety, or become the heir. The existing diety only reincarnated and ascends when the heir is ready to take the title and control.

As time lapsed longer (again, a figment) souls began to find the good, and plunged higher in reincarnation. After purity, they would reside with God. But until then, they would reincarnate into a higher self. this is why there are powerful spirits (souls) in the multi-universe.

The reason why we are on this earth is to move forward. With these three bodies we have now, we are close to reincarnating with God, and joining in his good.

The reason for reincarnation is to ascend higher and be with God, the first to incarnate and reincarnate, the first to find purity and good. We reincarnate to get closer to the good and purity, or to try what he have failed at. (Such as stepping away from evil)

It doesn't sound bad, though I don't really agree with it. I just remembered a video of a scientist that could scientifically explain the theorie that an absolute "nothing" cannot exist. It was quite enlightening to be honest if you put some thought in it. I would post it but (I belief) it was in the Dutch language so it wouldn't be worth much for you guys.

Edit: the reason I can't really agree with it is because several elements are things I have absolutely never heard of, I will however do some serious thinking on it to see whether or not I can fit those things in somewhere. Thank you for your story

I would like to express my deep and profound knowledge for the answer to this question. This answer also is not open for discussion haha.

The meaning to life is to love yourself and to love others on such a heightened level that you crack Enlightenment itself and become that which you praise as the Ascended Masters themselves.

Love is purity. With purity comes great knowledge and understanding. And that is the secret to life, understanding why you are here. The rest will be history.

Midnite pretty much summed it up, we are here to love and be loved while learning important lessons that we set up for ourselves to learn in order to evolve. We are also here to help others realize their potential and help them in whatever way we can. If we continue on the right path someday we may even be an ascended master!

The main reason for life is for us humans to find our way back to our creator Also known as God, or The Source). Now why we exactly have to do that is anyone's guess.

I also heard from astral projectors that the reason for life is too beautiful to put into words in our current 3D world (or dimension)
