Do ghosts exists?

In my country, ghosts existence are deeply ingrained due to the heavily promoted horror movies and such. When i met a German friend recently, it seems that ghosts are nothing to him.

Thus, came the common question of 'Do ghosts exist?" or are ghosts existence came from culture?

I forgot that movie or television series where one character kept correcting a ghost investigator with, "they prefer to be called spirits," which I thought was silly because it's not as if they've organized some defamation league. Other suppositions about ghosts: that they're transparent, white or blue versions of their living selves, that they have no feet, that they can float through walls but not through lines of salt or flowing water, that they drag around heavy chains with one chain link for every year that they lived in vice and you'll know that a ghost is nearby from the sound of rattling metal chains, and they suck the heat from the air around them just by being there so you'll know there's a ghost nearby when you feel cold...

I think all that comes from culture. There might be a gain of truth, but we build so many layers of pearl around it so that many of us may never see.

Nice explanation. Truly cultures plays more role on defining ghosts rather than the real observation of ghost.

Ghosts are as real as the toothfairy, Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. In a short conclusion no. Ghost are not real.

Some ghosts are the spirits of dead people , people that dont move on in there after life , for one reason or another . Some are just the left over energy of people , some are thought forms , created by people . P.S. some ghosts are from living people in there astral body. We all do this at night and dont rember.

They are real but whether you chose to believe is everyones free choice
I have seen to many 'happenings' in the last 12 months for it to just 'be imagining'it.

They are but I cannot define them. I believe they are souls who are bound to earth for some unfinished business or because they do not accept their own death. My parent s house was inhabited by them, they could be quite noisy at times, even moving things around... I don't think it's a cultural thing, since I grew up in Belgium (next door to your friend's country), and have lived in Australia for a good 7 years now (where I have met a few people who have had "ghosts" experiences). If you come across some of ALG's posts, he has lengthily shared his experiences with ghosts as well.

Now, the thing is, when you say "ghost are nothing to him" do you mean he's not afraid, or he hasn't met any? I have had experiences, but never have been "afraid".

Ghosts most certainly do exist! Some of them are seeking answers, some just refuse to cross over and some don't even realize they are dead sadly. There are many documented cases of seeing ghosts. They are real but they are not here to scare you...most people cannot see them because the very idea frightens them...imagine what you would do if that thought became a reality!
