I've gone through a long process to finally determine what my soul purpose is. And I feel that now that I know what it is (to be an intuitive and a healer) I should do things which resonate with that purpose and which fulfil that purpose. However, I find that my life circumstances are such that I cannot practice being a healer at this moment. In fact no employment/job seems to be forthcoming (for over a year), let alone a job that is in resonance with my purpose, despite daily focus (and manifestation practice) on having a job that I enjoy, fulfils my purpose and brings an income. I know that in a few years time I will be happy in my work and fulfiling my purpose, but I still need an income to function in the years that preceed that. Would it be advisable to take a job that is completely unrelated to my purpose, and in fact offends me? I am a qualified lawyer but can't find employment, and after months of stressing and applying for jobs everywhere but not getting anywhere, I've applied to and gotten a hostess job at a seafood restuarant (I'm a vegan, so I don't like the association and also ego wise it is challenging). I feel like it is unrelated to my purpose, and what I would earn is minimal, but it is the first job I have gotten in over 6 months. I understand freewill and choice, but how likely is it that all the doors that lead to fulfiling your purpose are shut, but the doors that go in the complete opposite direction are open? It just seems so counterintuitive. I realise you should be objective and just observe, it is just becoming seriously challenging. Has anyone else experienced opposition/perceived opposition to fulfiling their purpose? |

I think that the Universe (or your unconscious mind, whichever metaphor you prefer) will hear you declaring a purpose for yourself, and then present you with opportunities to find out how committed you are. If you distinguish the Purpose of being an intuitive and a healer, then it would make sense that you'd be presented with challenges that give you the opportunity to use your intuition and your healing abilities in a more stepped-up way than you had been previously. If those challenges daunt you to the point where you choose to stop and go a different direction, then it wasn't really your purpose. And if your spirit moves you to take on the challenges and transform them into support for your purpose, even if it scares the patooties out of you or seems really difficult, that's a really great sign that you're on the right track. |

Thanks Prinie I do offer readings online, which I really enjoy, but it is more like a hobby than a business, I am working on it though. Angela, thank you. It is challenging to be going in this direction...its been challenging for over a year now. If I'd just declared I wanted to be a lawyer, then that's what I would be doing right now. But that wouldn't make me happy...so I've fought out for happiness but ironically caused myself tons of pain in the process. I just hope this purpose of mine becomes worth it at some point! lol. |

Also, if you enlist the help of your spirit guides and angels you'll probably see more happening in your life when it comes to finding jobs close to your life purpose, that's always a beneficial thing to do.

Thanks all for the feedback.... there is nothing wrong with being in the restaurant service industry at all...if it is in alignment with your purpose, I see many people getting a thrill or enjoyment from it. You can tell when someone enjoys what they are doing while someone else struggles through it. I understand that everything in life is a process, it is like a puzzle coming together one or two pieces at a time. It can be frustrating when you know where you want to go, you declare it, and it is only human to expect to be there already, because you've decided you want it. That's not how it works, and I am constantly reminded of this. Perhaps a lesson in detachment from outcome or expectations is what I was looking for. Thanks for the comments, got me thinking a bit more openly. When you are scared and frustrated its difficult for the light to get in. |

| Sometimes, before we are fully ready to commit to our life purpose there are other lessons and choices we must make and go through. Perhaps your angels and guides are telling you that through this different career choice you will be able to get those lessons and decisions behind you in order to accomplish your life purpose? I find that seemingly unrelated lessons must come first before we can get to the end result we desire. Ask your angels and guides to help you and give you a sign that this is the right choice for your spiritual path. |

Definitely agree with everyone else posting- sometimes the best things come out of a challenging situation - when I was a hostess many years ago in college, - I met a guy who I dated for a few years who was one of the most influential people who has ever entered my life...and it was just because I sat him and his best friend one Sunday morning during brunch and he slipped me his phone number. I actually left the job shortly after, becuase I knew the reason I was there had been fulfilled. So who knows who you'll meet - perhaps the person who will be most influential in for your purpose....you'll definitely greet people differently when they walk in the door if you have that as your presupposition Good luck....and definitely consult with your spirit guides (like someone else posted too!) - follow your gut and intution, and always ask "what can I learn from this"...and you'll always win. |

I have been in similar challenging situation where i thought my work is getting in my way and hinders my life purpose .Unfortunately this approach did not help much .i was consumed by thoughts of leaving the job ,looking for better jobs which is not wrong but loosing interest in the current one is ,asking people what should i do ,how to balance out my passion with work . Only after several years when i gave in and thought the resistance is taking too much of my energy , i realized i was able to reach out more and help the people who needed healing and my sympathies. In fact i was approached by people on work who thought i could help them.I appeared more wise to them once i grounded myself.I also feel that more opportunities on work were presented to me because my higher authorities were able to see my interest in work. I also believe that i have accepted the fact that this is job i can do better because i am more experienced with it as opposed to the ones which had small salaries or odd timings or completely out of my line.Your beliefs may be different which is fine. I feel this is my life path i have to go through and i have to accept it as i. That being said sometimes i don't get time for my yoga and personal healing sessions and i feel sad, but i am ready to accept this now which i was not doing earlier on. I have learnt that focusing too much on lack of something will in return create more void . I wish you best of luck, this is difficult as i know but as AngelPsychic mentioned contacting your guides on daily basis and communicating with them and asking for help makes the whole experience a lot better . We focus more on making everything work with positive energy and we experience more positivity and our presented with same . |

I know you are right, it is never just smooth sailing, there are different pieces, events and lessons that need to fit in and happen in a sequence to get you to where you want to go. I think my forum post was just coming out of pure frustration at being lost for so long. I changed my path, through my sheer determination not be a lawyer, I knew that I was only going to get into healing around age 36 (I'm 27 now) - I didn't want to accept this, based on the fact that I had already been through so much difficult stuff, and every facet of my life appeared to be difficult. So I worked with my guides and essentially I have shifted the path from, doing what I want in only 9 years time, to doing it very shortly. What I didn't realise in doing this, was that I was chosing a more difficult route to where I wanted to go - the "initiation" into being a healer is what I have been going through for the last year, and at times it has been intensly painful and difficult, but I am now beginning to see that the path has realigned and I am nearly at the end of this "initiation". I suppose if I had know that it were an "initiation" a year ago, I would have approached the past year differently, but the point was not for me to know, it was to go through all these difficult lessons at a quicker and more intense pace, because that is what I chose. I find that my guides won't give me the answers if I need to learn something on my own. They'll give me the first part, but let me get through the rest of the lesson alone (despite my calling on them often). I will ask them for a sign though, to confirm Thank you

I read a book by Anne Jirsch called Future Life Progression, awesome book, she talks about how we have four possible paths/choices at any given moment. I think there may be more, but four main ones is probably reasonable. I have also noticed this to be the case, when I do shamanic journeying work and ask questions, I am always shown four possible outcomes, one or two are always easier or brighter than the rest. The book also talks about future life progression, so seeing future possibilities of your life, and because you have seen them, felt them and know the vibration, you manifest it more quickly, she was also able to ask people doing the future life progression how they got to their future selves - i.e. they took a course, they moved and met someone important, etc. So in knowing this information they could speed up the manifestation. She also did a study which took people forward in time to notice how the world had changed, in terms of technology, culture, religion, architecture, food, etc. Really interesting book, mostly from the point of view that it provides you with the tools to look forward, a little different from being intuitive because then it is more about the next most positive step in the path.

Thanks for sharing, I hope you get more time to do yoga and healing as well. I've noticed that there are sometimes cycles in life, where your focus will be more on one thing than another, it may be that you will get a cycle where you will be able to focus on yoga and healing more so than work
