weird incident with toddler

this past wed, my husband and i were sitting at the kitchen table with our two year old daughter finishing up dinner when out of the nowhere my daughter said, "it's grandma charlene's birthday." it was a really weird thing for her to say, so we asked her to repeat what she said, and she said the same thing. i asked my husband if he knew if it was, and he just shrugged, and said he didn't know. we kind of brushed it off and said, "wouldn't it be crazy if it really was?"

a little background, my husband's father married a woman name charlene a year ago after dating for half a year. we do not really know much about her having only met her a couple times in the past year when we see them. the last time we saw his dad and his wife was back in early october. we're cordial with her, and get along, but she is really not a topic of conversation that comes up at all. we do know much about her, let alone her birthday (especially my husband since like most men, he's terrible with dates).

my husband called his dad on thursday to wish him a happy thanksgiving. in the conversation, his dad mentioned that yesterday (wednesday) was charlene's birthday... and now this has been bugging me ever since.

like lots of people who come across unusual situations, i have been trying to figure out an explanation.

my two year old daughter does not know dates or her days. so even if we knew what day or date charlene's birthday was, my daughter would have no clue what day/date wednesday was.

then there's the idea that it was a random thing a toddler said and it just happened to be a coincidence. i get that toddler's say crazy, irrational, off-the-wall things, but as a i mentioned above, charlene is not a typical subject we bring up. probably next to never. it would just seems so weird to me that she would put charlene (a name/person she almost never hears about or meets) and birthday together and have it be true. (almost as weird as the incident itself).

my mom is a very rational person, and she had no explanation, and told me to just live with that. i'm slowly succumbing to that answer, but i was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts or insights.

one last thing, this is the only instance that i know of where my daughter did something out of the ordinary like this.

could be that she saw the future or heard it for the matter, and just repeated what she heard........

Could very well be a supernatural event... It's known that children are closer to getting messages from other dimensions due to the fact they only recently came into this plane from the other plane. So lots from the "other place" stays with them when they're very young. JMHO.

Welcome to the forum , your little girl may of known Charlene in a past life . Some kids remember past lives until around 5 , you might ask her if she does know who Charlene is . desert rat

thank you! i am actually starting to believe in may be a past life incident. i clearly do not know much on the subject, but i am willing to read up on it. charlene actually mentioned to my husband that maybe she and morgan were linked together from a past life, but i really didn't give it much thought. after googling, it seems to be a pretty common idea that children under age 5 have past life memories.

i asked my daughter if she knew anything else about charlene or if there was anything she would like to share, but she didn't really say anything.

I can think of several less fantastic explanations (although its possible that its extrasensory or regressive).

How big is your family? Is it possible that perhaps she heard someone mention it? Perhaps someone mentioned it, and she heard it and you missed it...children are quick...

no, it is not possible she heard it from anyone else. my husband has a sister who is stationed in japan and we talk to her maybe once or twice a year on skype. there is no one else we talk to. as i said, we don't see his dad that often, and we don't talk about this woman, pretty much at all. the last time we saw my husband's father and wife was in october, and even it it was brought up briefly and i don't remember, seriously, my two year old has no concept of dates and days. i've ran through these scenarios, but if there is a logical one, go for it.

i understand it could also be a coincidence, but to me, the odds of my daughter picking charlene and saying it was her birthday, and it happens to be on the exact same day... well, i think the likelihood of that is just as likely as a paranormal explanation.

My Memere used to have this coocoo clock, she moved in 97 and got rid of it. Cindy was born in 2004. When she was about 3 or 4, we went to visit Memere.

Cindy starts looking around her in-law apartment with this puzzled look, "Memere, where did your coocoo clock go?"

Another time before she was really even talking very much (under 2), she was in the back seat and she started singing this really old song word for word. It was something from a little before that song, You Make My Brown Eyes Blue, but no where near as popular.

She had been with me or my husband 24/7 at that time and had never heard that song as far as we knew and again, she wasn't really talking that well yet.

i wonder if those both could've been past life experiences or if she was talking to someone on the other side. did you ever try to look into it further or talk to her about it?

Not sure on the coo coo clock, but I think the song was past life.

She used to see and talk to angels when she was younger too. I caught her on tape doing it a few times. We didn't know it at the times until later when we switched from the channel 5 news camcorder to a normal one and rewatched all the old tapes.

One of the times, my husband and holding her and I'm recording her. She's interacting like normal, then she stops, gets that weird look she used to get when she talked to them. Then she starts watching something moving and says, "Ghoooooost."

A lot of times even know she will get very adamant about something. She's right every time even when you're sure she won't be.

Another time, her grandparents took her out. Then stopped somewhere looking for a headboard, no luck. On the way out Cindy got that way, we need to go this way. Finally they gave in because she was being so heels in the sand about it. She leads them down this weird way (this isn't a store we had ever been to either). Then end up finding the exact type of headboard they had in mind on super clearance price. It was one of those simple wood/wrought iron type.

Cindy is your daughter? She sounds really attuned. There is a book by Carol Bowman about reincarnation within the family that explains how family members who die often reincarnate within the same family (that could explain the coocoo clock story). It explains why kids know things about the family from before they were born. But your Cindy's abilities seem to go beyond that.

About ''memere'', it's funny I used to call my grandma the same in French, ''mémère''. (Not a paranormal coincidence!)

One thing that I just thought of was what if Charlene is setting there thinking to her self thinking its my birth day , does my family care ? Your little girl may of picked up on this . desert rat
