Today my husband and I were walking into a thrift store, one that we have never been to,and as we passed through the doors, he gasped, panicked, and had to leave. When I asked him what was wrong, he said that he had been to this store previously, in a dream. I tried to reason with him, saying it was Deja Vu, which we both experience frequently. He insisted that he had been there before, saw the exact people behind the counter, and knew the exact layout of the store. He does this very often, and can recall several exact instances in which this has happened to him. The day of our wedding we came to an intersection in which a church was on the right side, and he said he had been there before in a dream. I'm a general skeptic, and like to rule out all other "rational" possibilities before settling on something psychic. I have questioned him over and over, and researched Deja Vu and theories on how the dream process works, and he still insists that this is something special. He is not the kind of person to make things like this up, so now I am really intrigued. I was hoping someone out there has had, or know someone who has had any experiences like this, and if you can provide me with some information? I have tried to research this, and can't really figure out where to start, since I don't know what to call it. Thanks! |

Your husband is experiencing pre-cognitive dreams, and those dreams are triggering a Deja Vu like experience when he walks into the exact place and set of circumstances that was previously dreamed. I used to have a lot of this, and now only here and there. When we dream at night we don't remember the exact content of that dream unless something dramatic or special enough happened to make it stand out as worth remembering. However with pre-cog dreams, they are almost like small snippets of general life moments where nothing special happens at all. I would sometimes wake up in the morning wondering where my dream was based off, because it seemed to real like I was actually there. Up to 5 years later I would experience the exact same moment in real life, triggering a massive recollection experience. This is exactly where I started attaching myself to the idea of pre-destiny. How is it that I can dream of an exact situation 5 years before it was meant to happen? Everything was occuring exactly the same way my dream played out, from what people said, to where they were walking, where I was (a store that didn't even exist 5 years before), and even down to my own responses in the moment. It was like watching a video in replay. |

Thanks so much for the response. I was leaning towards pre-cognitive dreams, but I wasn't sure exactly what that entailed. You saying that they're like small snippets where nothing remarkable happens, really verified this for us! However, he says that the dreams are very vivid and real, but some things don't make sense, as if it was in a "dream reality". Just a random example, a shark may be sitting in a lawn chair at a bingo hall. But everything else is mostly very realistic. I attributed this to him not being aware that he is dreaming, and allowing his subconscious to step in and make things weird. Have you experienced anything like this?

For example, a shark sitting in a chair in a bingo hall may signify a certain person or character who may ordinarily look like just another normal old man/woman sitting around, however you have picked up that this person is a bit of a shark and quite cunning or street smart when it comes to a particular aspect of their life (Money, Business, Socially, or otherwise). This symbology could also be warning you about overlooking a person's character just because they are in an innocent setting, where they may still actually be quite deviant on the inside. Pre-cog dreams rarely display 'out-of-place' imagery though. For if it did, you would recognize it as being out-of-place within your dreams and start subconsciously altering the natural flow of the dream itself.

Very interesting. So there is a difference between pre-cognitive dreams, symbols in dreams, and symbolic dreams. I am really interested to research this further! Thanks so much, really appreciate it! |
