Spirit Visitation or my own Past Life?

Last night I had an odd dream, I was visiting a photography exhibition by my housemate, and it was upstairs in our own apartment (there is no upstairs really). There was a young Indian guy on the door, who said there was another exhibition in the room at the back, and that I should go and see it.

I agreed and found myself in a small room with photos on the wall and a therapists couch in the middle. I lay down on the couch and suddenly this girl was lying on top of me, in an aggressive way rather than a sexual one, pinning me down.

I really started to feel like I couldn't breathe. I suddenly felt like I was her, and it was someone else, a man, pinning us down. I had the intuition that she had come to me for healing, and I started tapping (EFT) the suffocating feeling.

"Even though I'm suffocating..."
"Even though he's killing me..."

The feeling was about a ten, it would have been unbearable if I hadn't known that it wasn't real. When I hit my middle finger that was lit up, so I just started tapping that until the feeling went away. I'm not sure if it went away completely or if I dragged myself out of it, but I woke up.

I had a t-shirt on, so the whole thing could just have been me lying oddly on it and it choking me. However I remember that I was able to breathe just fine all through it, yet I was feeling pins and needles in the top of my head, and a very strong choking sensation.

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? I figure I should probably brief my girlfriend on how to deal if it happens again, she'd have freaked out if she'd been there last night.

Please don't be alarmed, I'm probably wrong. Sounds like a succubus attack, very disturbing dream you've had. It may well help to tell your girlfriend as she can probably protect you, but it may unnecessarily worry her.

Succubi are negative beings that feed on mens' spiritual energy, often sexual in nature. Incubi are the male equivalent, feeding on female energy; some say they can change gender to suit which gender they are attacking. I've found that such energies can emanate from someone who bears the victim a grudge, feels jealous of them or has strong desire for them.

Although these negative energies can be persistent, they are easily got rid of. If you have a repeat experience, tell the attacker you know what/who it is and do reject it, that it must return to its own realm/origin. If you know for sure that it's someone in your circle causing the problem, use their name when banishing them. For some reason, once you have spotted one, these nightmares can't have a further hold on you. If it helps, I've been victim of a similar experience many years ago and got rid of it as I've suggested.

coo, so are you saying that a real person that I know, unwittingly sent this energy to me?

I actually found the experience fascinating, and felt like I was in control at all times. I deliberately pulled myself out of it when I wanted to.

Isn't another way of looking at a succubus as something that wants healing?

Yes, a real person could have sent this experience - and not necessarily unwittingly.
Also, I've never heard anything of a succubus wanting healing; it's a purely malignant creature feeding off your energy. These things are negative energy vampires, pure and simple.

I found reference to an Indian version of this being on a posting on Erin's site earlier today (can't remember which one, unfortunately). That too was considered a dangerous astral spirit. Maybe Erin could give you more insight and practical advice on the matter. While I've dealt with these beings before, I'm not an authority on them.
