Default Alien Aversion

Hello, I am new to this website. I just registered and I have a question. I would love feedback. Does anybody else have an extreme aversion to the pictures of aliens? I have a fun night coming next week and they are showing the movie "Paul". I already tried to look at the trailer and I have to look away. The movie E.T. didn't bother me but this one is too "real". Not sure what to do. BTW, I have had "experiences" but won't go into detail here yet. Any thoughts? Thanks !!

Are you asking me? Not sure. If you are... No, It is not a paranoid feeling or an uneasy feeling like watching "fake" monsters on a horror movie or something. It is different. And of course I know "Paul" isn't real but they made him look too "real" for me to be comfortable looking at without wanting to turn away. I hope somebody else responds who has the same problem. Thanks for responding though !

If your redneck neighbor is uncomfortable looking at a black man, does it make the black man a monster? Or is it that the redneck neighbor just have personal issues?

And yes he looks very much like some of the typical greys.

I have no aversion to looking at them at all, but it is my belief that a person most certainly may.

If it bothers you that much there is probably a much deeper reason for it...in context, it could be very much like other people who have so called unfounded fears such as heights, claustrophobia, clowns, etc... There could be something in your past life to create this reaction in you or even something in this life that you have previously blocked since you say you have had experiences.

OMG yes (not the Paul one though).

Scared to death of them. ET totally freaked me out as a kid. I think my fears are mostly from movies though.

lol.... funny story

I can not stand Tom Cruise (sorry to anyone who likes him). Aliens/end of the world type of stuff totally freaks me out.

So my husband brings home that one with all of that, "Honey, I brought you home such and such, I thought you'd want to watch it."

All it needed were garter snakes and doctors in there and I'd be all set. Get all my fears in 1 movie.

"Redneck neighbor"...what? Sorry that comment didn't make sense to me. Thanks for responding though.

LOL !! That was funny !!

I am actually not freaked out at all by "Alien stuff". In fact it is really quite interesting to me. I love the show "Ancient Aliens" on the History Channel. Still just hoping that somebody had the same issue and could help me.

Thank you very much for responding !! This is definitely a possibility. I just wish it was an issue I could deal with. Like people who have a fear of heights might try baby steps by going on a Ferris Wheel or something. I can't actually *face* my issue in that way. If you know what I mean !! The idea of past lives and Akashic records is interesting and I am just learning about it. I wonder if something like that could ever help me. I guess it really isn't that big of a deal except that I can't really explain to my friends why I can't watch the movie. I guess I could just tell them I have a "freaked out" type of situation instead of saying I have an aversion. Then I wouldn't have to go into detail as to why I might possibly have a problem with it.
