Default Steve Job's Last Words

I was reading an article yesterday that stated that Steve Job's last words were "Oh wow, Oh wow, Oh wow." What do you make of that? Has anyone from the media or his family elaborated on what he meant? It seems to me like he was giving us a sneak peek into the other side. Pretty neat.

i don't really think that he would have said "oh wow" if he was in great pain. but who knows i've never been dying of cancer.

I think it's pretty cool. Kind of like being given a sneak peak into the afterlife.

Default Steve Jobs last words

I also believe that Steve Jobs was experiencing something, such as a glimpse into the life beyond this life.
It makes no sense that his beloved sister would recount that story if those were words of a dying man's pain.

I believe that too! My mother-in-law is a nurse who works in a long-term care nursing home so she's witnessed many people during the time before their death and as they die. She said the one thing she's seen that has been constant in every single death REGARDLESS of the person's history while alive is that all seem to look as they have found something or someone and seem to show great relief.

She said more often than not when a person is still able to speak and at least semi lucid, they'll speak about loved ones or TO loved ones that have come to get them (according to these patients). She said she's even heard a woman argue with her deceased brother for days and days before her death asking him to go away until about 30 minutes before when she finally said, "OHH, I see now! That's why you're here." Then she died within the hour of not showing that fear any longer.

I really believe observing people as they die, as morbid and unfeeling as that sounds, can really create more of an understanding and relief concerning what may be waiting for us. According to what she's (my mother-in-law) witnessed in the nursing home, she truly believes we have nothing at all to be afraid of and according to my own experiences, I am inclined to believe that too. Which is nice.

I bet Steve Jobs is in amazing genius/techno robot heaven right now, having a latte with R2D2, Albert Einstein, and Isaac Newton.

Yeah, pain would more likely be, "oh, OW!" not "wow".

I wanted to be at my mom's bedside but it was just too scary and painful by myself and no one would stay with me so I wasn't there. But she wasn't able to talk.

Default What you see at the moments before death

This is a good thread!
Just want to add my own personal experiences.
My Mom, bless her soul, believed in Heaven, but if I mentioned anything about spirits or communication with those who passed on, she would frown a little and allude that I was reading too much science fiction!
So she basically blocked any manifestations of spirits or loved ones.

When she was older, after having suffered some health setbacks, she said she saw from her bed a woman sitting on the couch, her long hair hanging behind her, but her face turned away. I interpreted that as being her own Mom who had come to 'visit', but not ready to take my Mom.
A few years later, my Mom could no longer walk or get out of bed. She had a caregiver then. The caregiver, who btw is an athiest, told us that she found Mom struggling out of bed one morning, 'cause Grandma was standing at the foot of the bed, calling her to come.
And yes, Mom did pass away withn a day.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Isn't this a wonderful and relieving thing to understand, though? It takes away the fear of dying, which is what I believe a person really needs in order to move on. It's nice to know that we get a chance to do that (if we haven't already) in our last hours thanks to our loved ones. What's even more soothing is to understand and believe that while you're still living. I think it really helps with mourning when you've lost someone.

Just pure sweetness.
