Lightbulb Astral Travel Difficulties

Hello,
For the last week I have been trying to expand my abilities into doing Astral travel.

I have tried about four times but each time I experience that jerk it wakes me up to the point I would have to start all over again. I cannot seem to make myself relax through this...are there any tricks or suggestions anyone may have for this? I am not afraid to separate from my body so I am not sure what is holding me back.

I would suggest that for about 2 months, you just stop making any effort, so that your mind relaxes away from the objective. Sometimes the application of a strong desire creates a sort to mental muscle tension and that prevents the projection.

There is one other thing that you might be overlooking which is that astral projection is taking place for you on a daily basis whenever your physical system sleeps but you are not aware of the projection. Shift your view and try to become aware of projection, rather than to be the cause of projection.

Nature already operates the projection but without your knowledge of it, just as many functions in the body takes place, like digestion, and we are not even aware of it most of the time.

I have often wondered if that is the case; that I am projecting while sleeping because I rarely remember dreams and more often than not I don't feel like I am resting. Especially, if I am upset, I feel like I am in that deep subconscious state that is neither sleep nor awake. If this is true how can I remember what I am doing? I have tried doing the dream journal many times before and also in waking myself up to try to remember dreams but nothing works. I would really love to master this.

You might be trying too hard to make it happen.
Here are a few tips:

1. Keep in mind that astral projection is already happening
2. Make efforts to be a very silent observer when you are falling asleep and when you are just about to awaken
3. There is a shift in consciousness from waking state to sleep and you are not in control of that shift. since it is going on without your control, then try to allow it to remain under that natural control but seek a position from which you could observe how that shift takes place, either from waking state to sleep or from sleep to waking stage.
4. Continue your dream journal but instead of seeing yourself as an actor see yourself as an observer like a news person who stands on the corner and takes photos but does not interact with the accident on the corner.
5. Practice meditation and through it learn how to move away from thoughts and images which are produce spontaneously in the mind. Stop following these thoughts and remain still in the psyche. This stillness will cause an increase in psychic perception and an increase in awareness during the time when the astral body separates from the physical one.
