I've read through all of the other threads, and I still don't understand the answer to this question. In order to be tested, the applicant designs the test, then submits it for approval. If either the JREF or the applicant finds the test unsatisfactory, changes will be made until both parties are satisfied. Why is it, then, that so many people apply and fail? Clearly, it's not because the tests are rigged--the applicants must approve of the test before it begins. Erin brought up an analogy in another thread, along these lines: The applicant says she is able to read a book. The JREF asks her to prove it. She asks the JREF to give her a book to read, in English. The JREF does so, then insists on turning the lights out. The applicant can tell the JREF that she needs the lights on. The two parties negotiate until an agreement is reached. Here is what their site says if an agreement cannot be reached: "Neither the Foundation nor the claimant can force a testing procedure without the approval of the other side. The testing procedure is a negotiation, and no one can put their foot down. If at any time it a deadlock is reached, the application process will be terminated, and neither side will be blamed or considered at fault." So why do psychics go through with a test they cannot pass if they don't have to? /<3 |

They try, but the judge...he just laughs and says it isn't legit. Many are proven phycics but randy just says some crap that people beleive and say the person is wrong. Like the telekenisis one, he laughed and said he was using an invisible string tied to his wrist, when police checked later they found no string.

If you haven't read through the threads here on this topic yet (I know the OP has, but I thought some others might not have), I recommend: James Randi's Million Dollar Challenge |
