Do you think that there is any difference between the higher self and the 5 years down the road version of yourself from Steve's article?

Steve's Article:
http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/200...te-meditation/

Erin's Article: Erin Pavlina’s Blog » Blog Archive » How to Meet your Higher Self

For me, it's the same. If it isn't for you, how does it help you differently?

EDIT: After reading this post, Erin Pavlina’s Blog » Blog Archive » Ask Erin: How do I get started? I realized that it was already previously stated that this was the same thing. If a Mod could delete this post, it would be appreciated.

EDIT2: Ok, perhaps there is a point for discussion after all. Don't delete this then, please

Well before anyone does any deletion, I don't think it's stated that your 5-yr future self is the same as your higher self.

It's highly unlikely one is going to become an immortal, perfect, at-peace, soul-like awareness energy in five years, no matter how enlightened one becomes...

The higher self, is the true self. The extension of who you really are, now and forever. The higher self is awareness, is consciousness. I know Erin talks about different levels of this, and many people have totally differing opinions on it, but you are your HS now. Don't look for salvation in "the future."

The 5-yr future self, is to you what you are to your 5-yrs-ago-self. Personality, mind, ego construct. A human being

You actually have many higher selves. The higher self is just one more more cognizant self, that has not yet expanded into All That Is. It is "you from the future" working out its development in the only way it can at its level -- by fine tuning it's aspects in the past, so as to result in a optimal state of energy balance in the "future" (state of development, not to be confused with linear "time"). And to answer the question, I think there is a fairly large difference between the 5 years from now higher self, and the one I speak of. The one I speak of is not physically incarnate, but still constantly communicating with such incarnated personality gestalts. So it is not limited by so called "earthly knowledge limits".

Thanks, I appreciate the answers. While they have opened my mind up a bit more in regards to the possibilities I'm afraid that they have led me to become even more confused about the concept of the higher self. Perhaps more meditation using Steve's favorite meditation technique and attempting "going to your room" would lead me get a glimpse of him (I'm a very patient person but I am finding myself rushing through the “going to your room” steps) as shown here:

http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/200...-to-your-room/

Can someone who understands subjective reality explain the concept of “higher self” in how it relates to the subjective reality lens?
