When it comes to higher guidance, usually people talk about feeling things in your heart chakra or solar plexus or whatever. but I rarely get feelings there unless I consciously decide to feel something or I feel negative. Most of the time the sensations are actually at the back of my body either the back of my head, sometimes my neck or spine, and the lower area of my back. I just wanted to know if this is my higher self communicating to me. Also when you are communicating with your higherself, angles, spirit guides ect. Where do you feel the sensations in your body and how do you interpret them? |

I also get sensations in the back of my head or my neck when getting communication from spirit guides or from those who have passed. Usually I get these sensations when there is something I need to pay attention to that is happening at that moment.

I too have come here looking for an explanation for the feelings I get on the back of my head . I get them mostly when certain people are about to contact me through Facebook message or text message. It has happened mostly with someone I liked and with others whom I know like me. (mostly all spiritual studying people) The strongest is when it was the person I liked/admired and when the feeling came I'd come to expect him to contact me and within a minute he would. And like previous poster said I've started to notice it happen when I'm reading something important of the spiritual nature. |

In my experience, the rear of the chakras are the most sensitive areas for me, leading me to believe they are of great significance. I always get stuff happening at the back of my neck and heart centres. EDIT: Additionally, in my healing practice, when i raise energy to project out, it flows naturally up my legs, and then up through my back to the rear of my heart centre. In one breathe i raise several loads of energy and it accumulates there. In my out breathe, i project it through to the front of the chakra, up through a channel that extends from the heart to my collar bones, and then follows through the arms and hands. I just thought this was interesing to add. I would like to observe this more closely. Last edited by HiImJeremy; 10-29-2011 at 07:32 AM. |

What Jeremy says seems logical, considering the fact that the spine is in the back of your body and body and soul must interact with eachother too manifest physical sensations. My apologies of that seems a bit of an obvious statement but I myself also often feel sensations in my back around the chakras. Never really thought about it, it's quite interesting. Oh and Jeremy, maybe you can research the way nerves go through your legs and compare it with the sensation of the energy when it moves towards your spine, seems like an interesting thing to note. |

I've always gotten this weird feeling in the back of my neck. When I was little, I always thought it was a fish swimming around in there (the weird things we think as kids). Is that what it feels like? It's kind of like a squirmy/popping sensation. Doesn't hurt, it's just weird. |

I think what happens is it feels like water is flowing up through the substance of the legs and then it flows up my back and accumulates there in my IN breathe. It feels similar to if i were to caress my hand over the underside of your arm. Imagine that feeling going through your legs and up the spine. It's a flowling motion. The difference however lays in how the body raises the energy. It raises through the substance of both legs, but only comes up through my back and spine, not through the front of the body. Another interesting thing is all chakras are being used at the same time in one way or another. So they're all in synch with the healing process. I also hardly imagine energy leaving my body. It's hard to explain. My visualisation is to see them in perfect health, and i project the FEELING of energy onto them. Works awesome for me. Drawing this back to topic, i really think there can be specific meanings for recieving sensations on the back of your body and the rear of the chakras. I think for some reason that area was made very sensitive and so it's important to note these sensations. For example, i bet you can FEEL someone standing behind you, without seeing them. It's our natural instinct. | |

I have been thinking about it and found/thought of some interesting things: First of all the ability to feel someone behind you, this can be a natural psychic ability in order to defend ourselves from a blow to the spine (considering it's importance to the body in general) and the back of the head. Second, will someone that is paralysed from the waist down be able to do energywork in the same way as Jeremy. This I do not know but is maybe a nice research object. Third, I am currently reading a book called "The Journey to the West" (really good book, I can recommend it) and it spoke of that the six senses actually impede is in our quest for enlightenment. Which is an interesting concept that might be of importance to this thread, how exactly is not yet entirely clear to me but maybe others can come to the conclusion before me. | As a telepath and someone with clairaudience and clairsentience abilities I don't feel anything in my body parts really, its more of a gut feeling and you learn to distinguish between them eventually. I also can hear angels and spirits if they talk so often messages can be sent that way as well as in visions. Many people before they realize they have these abilities think its just themselves speaking but in reality if you stop and listen you may realize there is important information that may be conveyed. Stop and listen, talk back and the feelings you are getting in your body may be further explained. Visions can be as simple as a small daydream but they can have huge meanings. When I first started developing my abilities after I became aware of them meditation went a long ways into helping me develop relationships with those around me who help me in my life everyday. |
