Spirit Guide

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and have done some browsing, but I apologize if this has already been discussed before.

I was wondering if someone has any advice on how to initiate contact with our Spirit Guides? I have started meditating but have gotten to a point in my life where I am looking for some guidance and developing my intuitive and empath skills more.

Also, do we have multiple Spirit Guides or only one? How do we know when we are communicating with the right one? The research I have done so far indicates that Spirit Guides have appeared as different ethnicities/backgrounds. Does anyone know what determines this?

Any information or advice would be much appreciated.

Meditating is more of a foundational resource than anything else. What must be accomplished in order to start speaking to things on the other side, is a change in your current mindset and frequency of vibration. You must firstly balance any inner-conflicts you have about possibly communicating with ethereal entities. Everything from 'It's not possible' to 'Am I going crazy?'. Once a baseline has been set, you may delve deeper into it in a more comfortable and well prepared manner.

To raise your frequency you need to perform an appropriate meditation/visualization. There are a number of techniques however I only ever find two really helpful. Firstly a visualization where you sprout angelic-style wings and fly up into the Heaven's above. Push off from the ground and feel your body raising in vibration and becoming lighter the higher up you fly. You must fly high enough until you are completely surrounded by a white existence. Once high enough, then prepare a mental affirmation to call upon your spirit guide with a summoning technique. I say the following words to force out anything to my immediate presence 'I call upon my Spirit Guides to come before me by the Will of God'. If you want to call your Guardian Angel, then swap [Spirit Guides] with [Guardian Angel].

How to use meditation to connect with Spirit Guides

Depending on whether or not you display clairvoyance, clairaudience, or claircognizence, you will either psychically see, hear or feel your guides. In terms of ease of communication, those who display clairvoyance and clairaudience will have a much easier time communing with ethereal beings. Clairvoyance is developed by activating the Third-eye Chakra and meditating upon in for a prolonged period of time. Clairaudience is developed by activating the Throat Chakra and mediating upon it for a prolonged period of time.

It's actually kind of weird. I use to be more clairvoyant, however I am now more clairaudient. My ability for claircognizence depends on the situation but has been highly desensitized after an onset of extreme volatility in my life. When you get particularly active, you should have no problem displaying all three traits. Claircognizence (Clairsentinence) is developed through the Heart Chakra. I can just no longer be bothered going through the motions of re-developing my skills, I am happy just talking to them and hearing audible voices.

How do we know when we are communicating with the right one?

Ethereal entities, including Angels, Demons, Spirit Guides, etc, all have a true etheric form that does not resemble much besides glows of white/gray/black. In the case of Archangels, those glows are so powerful they are seen as entire state of existences rather than a particular entity. Ethereal entities drawn upon imagery in your mind and construct an ideal form based on what type of impression they would like you to feel/see about them. For example silver armour may indicate that Angel has defenses up, or is some form of Battle Angel (these guys are just awsome). Spirit Guides may use such imagery in a similar way. Sometimes they base this imagery on past/future lives.

To develop clairvoyance, activate your Third-Eye chakra, not your Crown. Pretty sure that's what Midnite meant. Second, I'm pretty sure it's clairsentience for feeling, not claircognizance. Claircognizance is clear knowing, which Erin describes as a very different ability. If I'm wrong on this, though, I'd appreciate an elaboration.

You know the funny thing is I have been referring to the ability of "feeling" as claircognizence for about a year now. I just did a google search and you seem to be right on this one. Claircognizence is when you just spontaneously know the answers to things (or at least you think you do hahaha I think the latter is more appropriately termed arrogance LOL..).

Thank you both for taking the time to reply and explain this to me, I do appreciate it. Midnite, your reminder on being open to such experiences was particularly helpful as I had to deal with the same resistance when I first began meditating, and I have found the same issues with being open to contacting my spirit guide.

From my browsing I have seen different ideas about what a spirit guide is and the process in contacting them. My question about contacting the "wrong" one came from others who had mentioned communicating with other entities that were not their spirit guide and had intentions that were not positive. I guess it's just a different take/belief about all of this.
