Well, I suppose I'll have to cleanse some jewelry I just got as a gift!

My wonderful great aunt from Arizona visited my family bearing beautiful mostly coral and turquoise jewelry made by Native Americans. I was really into the string of coral I got and started wearing it immediately.

For the next couple of days I started to feel more depressed then usual. Feeling a weight on my chest. Feeling unlovable, just terrible. Yesterday I started to think maybe it's the necklace? So recently I took it off and almost instantly felt lighter and more positive, more "myself". It seems like whoever made my necklace was having a really really bad day.

Maybe it has to do with Native American people being more spiritual in the first place, I'm not sure. It seems to me (just a theory) someone's energy when making jewelry with stones can really transfer into the item and effect you. Has anyone else ran into this issue as well? Please share your story if it has and I'm not alone here. Thanks for reading.

Hi Frosting, Yep, three times I have had this happen. I bought a lapis lazuli necklace of ebay which still had the elderly ladys energy in it. I felt very tired when wearing it. A friend sent her energy on for me.
I bought a small gem pig for my daughter and when ever she holds or is near it it gives her a headache. She keeps it in a clear plastic box so she can see it.
And some mother of pearl buttons that were offered to me at a market. They sent sharp pains through my hands.
It's interesting that objects can hold a persons energy.

I wonder how long it can stay in the objects?

I am going to have a go at clearing the gem pig but asking my spirit guides to send on the energy in the pig.

The way to "clear" jewelry, or food or just about anything else, of negative energies is to use a purple positive energy plate. I have all different sizes of these plates and use them all the time. I have a large 12 in. x 12 in. on my counter top where I clear food after I bring it home from the grocery store. I would highly recommend getting one if you feel you need to clear something. Leaving a necklace on this plate for 10 min. would clear it of any negative energies.

Also frosting, the coral necklace you had, I'm assuming it's red, would draw your energy down and focus it on the first chakra. So it might not have been the negative erergy of the woman who make it but the nature of the stone and how it works with the body.

little missy, the lapis since it's a third-eye stone, has a tendency to put a person in the alpha brainwave state, which would make you a little bit sleepy. Lapis is great for meditation (alpha brainwave state) and other psychic abilities...so if you felt tired or sleepy that's exactly what lapis is supposed to do to you.

Thanks for your story Little Missy. Since It's happened 3 times with different kinds of jewelry I think people's energy transferring may hold some weight. Even the turquoise has my head feeling close to how the coral did.

Very interesting take on the coral, Angel and yes it is red. I read much of the effects of coral are very positive though. So even if it "draws down" energy I suppose i'm curious how a stone that is said to act like this "Coral is said to quiet the emotions and to bring peace to within the self, it facilitates intuition, imagination and visualization. " would cause me to feel so depressed. I've worked very hard to be a positive person so just so strange it made me feel that way.
I have some cleansing techniques I'll use. Holy Incense, verbal petitions, ect. I just can't seem to justify spending 12 dollars I don't have on a plate though I appreciate the information as it may help someone else.

Sometimes when you read what stones will do for you, the definition might not apply directly to you. Obviously, you have to try wearing the stone to really find out what's what. On another note, look into the first chakra on the internet and it's color red, perhaps that might shed some light on what the coral was doing to you. Sometimes some stones just for the heck of it, will NOT resonate well with you, and that's just the way it goes.

I would recommend looking into blue and purple stones to keep you more positive and joyful. Amethyst might be a big help here and it's not too expensive, and necklace of this stone could be what you're looking for. But even with amethyst you won't know until you actually put it on.... so keep experimenting with stones and eventually you'll find one that will be just right for you.

Angel, I don't think this is a matter of coral just not working for me. I've worn red coral before without this issue. That's why I think its an energy transfer issue. After I cleanse my new necklaces, I'll make an update with how it goes.

I remember hearing about a show I think on scyfy about items that have spiritual connections......try looking it up, it might help you get more info............

Native Americans typically know to cleanse the stones of energy they come with, before handling them. They clearly understand how energy works.

I am going to suggest that the energy came from whoever handled the jewelry after it was made.


I am going to also suggest that it is a good idea to always clear energy from anything you are going to bring into your home or wear on your body, if it is made of something that holds energy (crystals, wood, etc.)

Precious and semi-precious stones, especially crystals, have the ability to accumulate information. So, the necklace you feel uncomfortable with has obviously got some negative information from the former owner. It may be felt like not negative energy for somebody else, but it happened to be negative for you. I don't know if it's possible to change that. Some books advise to clean the stones/crystals in the running water, then to smoke them around, some say to never touch such stones, or to give them back, or to change them if it's possible. Or to take them to the church and ask the priest what can be done about them. Or to take them to a psychic who can perform a ritual.

years ago my (now ex) boyfriend gave me a necklace his mother had made - she never liked me & whenever I wore it a lot of negative things happened & I was so moody when I'm usually always happy.

I cannot (prefer) not to wear anything used to bed. I bought an old Roman ring just for kicks and had to sell it because I dreamed of floods when it was on. I bought a green glass necklace at an antique store and felt drained when it was on; it's gone too. I wore a t-shirt bought at a used clothing store and had nightmares everytime - into the trash. Be careful bringing ANY object into your home if you are not sure of its background. just sayin'
