Angels?? Maybe a stupid question

Hi

I've often read people talking about angels and angel guides... I think.

I'm just wondering if people who do a lot of angel work, believe that these angels are the same types of angels from the Bible? Angel Gabriel etc?
Just for interest sake.

I do spend a lot of time talking with Archangel Gabriel, the very same mentioned in the bible. Also Michael and Uriel on occasion, though not as frequently.

I don't do a lot of work with angels, but I do believe I have interacted with Archangel Michael and Angel Raphael. I don't know if they are the "same angels from the bible," but I do know that those names best describe them.

Yep, angel questions are not stupid. I'm constantly working with the angels The Archangels are all mentioned in the bible.

My mother has studied angels for many years, and she believes that there are different kinds of angels for different purposes. She works with them on a regular basis, and I find it really interesting. She has never said anything to me about communicating directly with "the angels from the bible", but I am sure that it is possible!

As far as I can recall...

Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael are mentioned in the Bible. Other angels are also in some stories (mostly in the Old Testament, though Paul makes references to them in at least one of his letters), but they're not named.

They have a very high level of purity so it's a little bit more difficult to detect them. You will be surprised how often they hang around, especially Guardian Angels. Archangels like Michael, Raphael, Uriel, Gabriel, etc, don't hang around unless they are called upon. There is no reason for them to do so otherwise. There are many Archangels in existence who are currently not documented in the bible or anywhere else for that matter.

That is an old and complex question . why did an angel help some one else and not me ? A few short answers might be , free will , karma , some kind of pre life agrement with your angel , ect . This is worth a thread of its own Why do angels help some and not others ? desert rat

My daughter sees them. Their colors seem to signify importance.

I find Metatron to be VERY colorful. Little burst of many colors, a lot like his pictures.

Sometimes I feel them near, sometimes I see little sparkles of light too which I think is them, but I don't know for sure.

Well the first thing you have to realize about that statement is that the term "something bad happened" is relative to the perception of the individual. To an angel, there aren't "good things" and "bad things", there are just things. Good and Bad are words that humans use in order to place value on a particular event or occurrence, they are not innate values. These values are based on opinion and individual perception and are not universal values.

This becomes very difficult to understand in situations where great discomfort, pain and death are involved, because these are widely accepted as "bad" things across the human consciousness matrix. Regardless of your value system, each one of us will experience these situations at one point or another. It's important not to wonder why a person was "allowed" or "forced" to experience pain, discomfort or death; you would be trying to use a limited human understanding to ponder eternal concepts. Instead, ask for help looking at events from an unbiased perspective, one with no mortal values of good and bad, right and wrong, and you will be well on your way to better understanding how guardian angels interact with those mortals they've been assigned to look over.

Now, as far as Archangels are concerned, there are 4 that are mainly discussed and made reference to here on Urantia (Earth). They are like the 4 points of the compass, the four winds. They are actually with us here quite often, acting as the executors of many of the universal actions that are decided upon to take place in our world. Because they are omnipresent, they have no problem being there for each and every one of us simultaneously as often and for as long as we request them. They are infinitely patient and have no problem helping ascendant, evolving mortals on each and every step of their journey toward their higher self. The often perpetuated misconception is that we as mortals shouldn't call on Archangels because we are too far below them to be worthy of calling upon them for assistance. The truth of the matter is that Archangels were created as they are and were created to be of service to other beings of their realm. In essence, angels of all ranks are available at any moment to lend you aid in whatever way you require.

For myself personally, there is a connection to Archangel Gabriel that stems back to the origin of my soul's creation. I feel a constant connection with him. That is to say, there isn't a moment that I can't extend my energy to the area around me and feel his presence there like a soft breeze. Each of your experiences with any and all angels might be completely different, but as far as my experience is concerned, there's never a moment when they aren't around us at least watching and waiting to be called upon for service.

I've never seen any angels, but I think it would be foolish to doubt their existence. That being said, if I did see one, I would know for sure that they existed, but I don't need them to exist to make my life worth living.

I don't mean to offend anyone by asking this but you would have to believe in the bible to believe in angels right? Can a wiccan have an angel?

You can believe anything you want; your beliefs don't have to perfectly match up with any one belief system. Feel free to be a mosaic. Take from there. Take from here. Mix. Tell us what you discover from the new concoction.

As a bit of a coincidence.. 'she' came to me last night. It was a very surprising event because I was just sitting there meditating when all of a sudden I was completely surrounded by these extremely white Angels staring at me. I was about to ask what was going on when they parted and this very very pure being walked in and sat on the floor in front of me. She passed on a personal message and 30 minutes later I received a phone call (10:30PM) with news regarding the content of the exact same message Archangel Gabriel passed on. It was quite extraordinary.

I had never met Archangel Gabriel before, nor have I ever bothered to call her in the past. She's on my call list now!

From my experience Archangel Raphael is the Commander of all Angels, and Jesus is an Ascended Master. Both have personally appeared to me as something quite different from that contained in scripture.

Hi innoweb.

I don't think it actually says that in the Bible.

Just to clarify: Gabriel was sent by God on several occasions to make some special announcement, like telling Mary she was going to give birth to Jesus.

Michael is the archangel who does battle with Satan.

Satan/Lucifer was also considered to be an archangel.

The other archangels: Rafael (the healing angel) is mentioned in the Book of Tobias (included in the Catholic and Orthodox Bibles) and Uriel is mentioned in other Jewish apocryphal texts.

Archangel means an angel of high rank and as such, I wouldn't say that one of them was the leader. They each have/had a separate mission/function.
