Post Close to Astral Projection?

Within the past few months, I've had a few interesting experiences that I had not really experienced before. I've recently developed an interest in inducing OBEs and feel as if I may have become close to doing so.

My first experience occurred back in May when I was on the verge of sleep. I focused on relaxing and all of a sudden, I felt myself rising within my body, as if I'm about to float right out of it. The feeling freaked me out so much that started panicking and reached out to shake my husband awake. I felt that if I could get him to wake up, I would halt the experience and stay in my body. It worked.

My second experience occurred about a couple months later. I enjoy sleeping with the television on (security thing, I guess) and I would wake up at various points of the night, notice that the television was on, and go right back to sleep. Well, one particular time I woke up, I decided I'd try to induce an OBE. As I was laying on the bed, in a near sleep state but still consciously awake, I concentrated on leaving my body. Almost immediately, I felt myself rising up out of my body and I partially made it out. The experience felt so real, that I remember thinking to myself, 'this is real!'. I tried to stay relaxed and go with the flow, but after partially making it out of my body, I began to see these spots of different colors at the front of the room. Each spot had a rainbow of colors within it. I then got freaked out and tried stopping the experience by shaking my husband awake. When he finally woke up, I felt safe in my body again.

I've had a few other experiences more recently with sleep paralysis and trying to astral project from there (haven't been successful yet). Anyway, the other night I drifted off to a light sleep (quite unintentionally as I was attempting to astral project that night) and dreamed that someone said "you're being targeted" or something along those lines. I remember feeling this sense of dread and fear. Next, I was at my job at a grocery store, saw two men approaching on either side of me (one was in line to check out in the lane behind the one I was working, the other was actually walking along the lane I was working) and knew that they were going to try to pull something. As soon as I said something to confront them, my dream abruptly ends and it feels as if my body is flopping (much like you would see a fish flopping about on land). I open my eyes and, much to my surprise, see that my body is very much still. I was fully expecting it to be flopping about because it felt that real. I also found my body to be in a state of sleep paralysis and I found that I could not talk, only make these sad, whimpering sounds. I remember feeling my husband nudge me a couple of times and that provided me with the comfort I needed to feel safe again.

There was one night where, again, I tried to leave my body. My entire body reached a state of relaxation and all of a sudden, I am paralyzed and it feels as if something is holding me down. I freak out and try to shout, but I am unable to. The only thing that would come out was a whimper.

Another experience occurred when I tried astral projecting yet again. I unintentionally entered a light sleep state where I dreamed I was playing with the reclining controls in the front seat of my car. I reclined my seat back and it wouldn't stop reclining. I remember thinking that the seat really should stop reclining at some point, but I kept feeling as if I were moving backwards. I woke up, still feeling as if I were reclining, but saw that my body was not moving. Once again, I was in a state of sleep paralysis.

My questions? What do you all make of these experiences because I'm a bit unsure what to think of them. Secondly, how would you suggest I go about successfully astral projecting with these experiences of sleep paralysis I keep having?

The flopping actions were being done by the subtle body. The physical form was not synchronized with the subtle one and so it did not mimic that one. This means that you were completely on the astral side but you thought that it was physical.

In some experiences like this, you will find that the physical body mimics the subtle one, just as in the case of during sleep paralysis where your husband might hear the mumbling sounds even though those are being made in the subtle body. In that case, because the bodes are in the process of becoming fully synchronized with each other, one will mimics the action of the other.

Sometimes in a scary dream for instance, a person might find that the physical body sweats profusely or shows some other sign of panic, even though the experience was mainly a threat to the subtle form only.

I am using the words astral and subtle interchangeably.

Regarding the sleep paralysis. This might happen when you are about to do astral travelling or when you are about to come back and be the physical person whom people know on the physical level. In either circumstance, if the bodies are interspaced into each other but are not synchronized properly, the person will experience a discomfort because of not being able to move the physical body, to make it wake up and move as usual. In sleep paralysis the two bodies are not in sync and so mental commands for any action of either of the bodies, especially the physical one, may not register and the person will feel inconveniences and restricted.

During sleep paralysis a person can snap out of it and rise as the physical body, by holding the breath. That causes the physical body is jerk and that forces the two bodies to synchronize. This is like when someone wants to wake you up. The person might shake your physical body or touch that body, and then by that, the astral form instantly resynchronized into the physical one and you wake up.
