| Have you ever had an experience you would describe as being paranormal, such as an out-body experience, near-death experience, psychic intuitions (that turned out to be true), memories of past lives, contact with diseased relatives, synchronicities or itentions manifesting in ways that were so unlikely that couldn't have been chance or any other experience you would describe as being unexplainable by the "normal" scientific view of the world? |

| After a ocuple of hundred years, still noone can show that these pheomena exist. "Paranomal experiences" are often due to placebo effects, demand charachteristics, experimenter expectancy effects etc. Look up these key terms and you will begin to see how easy it is to delude others or yourself. When it comes to mediums etc. a hypothesis could be that these persons are suffering from a mild form of psychosis.

| I've had many psycic experiences. I used to not tell anyone, but about 18 years ago, or so, I decided to go ahead and say it when it hit me. The first one that I told someone about, in advance of it's actual occurrance was that my brother was going to marry, the next girl he met. It occurred, and I reminded everyone that I said it beforehand. About a year ago, I had a dream that a co-worker had a baby, and in the dream, the baby was very little, like only 3 inches long. It was a boy, and in the dream she took it out of her hip pocket, and was working over it, as something was wrong. In the dream, she was covering it over with snow, and told me that this was to slow it down. I told a buddy of mine, at work about the dream. He and I spoke about and confided a lot about many things, like this, to each other. About a month later, she and some friends came in and bought some sodas, and while I was giving her her change, I said, "Trista, I had a dream that you had a baby, and that It was little tiny, and you were carrying it around in your hip pocket, and it's a boy. She went white, and almost dropped her drink. Her eyes bugging out. Later she came in, and asked me about the dream, in more detail. I didn't mention to her that there were problems, as I didn't want to cause worry. She looked around, and saw no one else around she told me that she just found out she was pregnant, and how could I have known, she anted to know, as she had not yet told anyone else, and was keping it a secret. She did subsequently have difficulty carrying it, and was hospitalized as they worked to stop the contractions, and she was bedridden for the duration of the pregnany. She finally did give birth to a sweet baby boy, and no further complications. Many, many more. |

| My relationship with my wife was predicted by a tarot card reading, including the timing and the bizarre circumstances around our early dating. I've had prescient dreams, though usually about minor details. My wife and I have both felt my deceased mother's presence. Mostly minor stuff, really, but definitely there.

| Okay, okay,so who's seen the Myth Busters episode where they hook up a potted plant to a polygraph machine and think angry thoughts at it? It's so awesome -- the polygraph spikes! I voted "I think so." I've had some experiences that make me wonder.

| I personally have never had any supernatural experiences and have never met anyone who has. I am very skeptical about these things, as you will see from my "radical skepticism" in other threads. However, after reading some people's posts I am becoming more open to the possibility that I am wrong, and these experiences aren't delusions. |

| I have only just started to raise my psychic awareness in the last month, during which I regularly recieve intuitive vibes and notice synchronicities. At first I was having trouble differentiating between psychic vibes and my imagination wondering off, but I am slowly getting the hang of it. By having an open mind and raising my vibrations, I am able to receive intuitive messages more and easier. Last edited by Nathan : 04-19-2007 at 04:36 PM. |

| Those are pretty amazing experiences, dorothy hanna! When I was a teen, as I was dozing off one afternoon, I began to see a pentagonal symbol in front of me, which I passed through and began to wonder around a weird place. I won't go into the details, but what really set me off about the experience was how real it felt, and the massive shakes I got when I woke back up. My body was literally vibrating as I opened my eyes, and shut them back again to drop down into a deep sleep. When I did some research, it turned out that this vibrating was a characteristic of astral traveling, and that everyone has at least one astral travel experience in their lives. The 2nd experience was more recent, and more spooky. There I was, dreaming away, when a door in my dream opened, someone came through, and I had the most horrible experience that this person was not a part of my psyche. It's hard to explain, but no matter how many people and places you dream up, you get the feeling that they're part of you or have arisen from you? But this presence felt terribly alien, in that he/she/it was not part of my mind. It was so jarring I woke up almost immediately in a cold sweat. Perhaps some of you lucid dreamers could help me shed some light on the experience?

| Nope, nothing I would consider paranormal.

| I have answered the phone before it rang to find my brothers best friend on the line. Also several times I "see" things and they later happen. For instance one day I was going to the store and I have a 'vision' that I would see a friend there just a brief passing thought(and mental picture of it happening) and then ran into that person at the store. Weird. I've forseen MANY things though. And often get that dejavu(sp?) feelings. Oh and once I felt so connected to this guy on some emotional wavelengths that without even talking I felt as though I was watching BOTH of us from a distance. VERY WERID!! The energy was very powerful. I dunno what that could be. Oh and I've also had dreams come true to near perfection of the dream. Scary seeing as I have TWICE had dreams of the world ending.

| I guess on the paranormal side of things, I've seen figures moving though the house, I've felt a hand push down on the top of my head, until I was literally down on the ground, all while the air aeound me tuened to looking like a thicker wavier substance. I've had something invisable swoosh around the room, and knock everything over, and off the walls, I've had books fly off the shelves, I've had a coffee cup and saucer slapped down out of my hand. I see, what my family refera to as Blagaboos, all the time, many tomes out of the corners of my eyes, but many times, now, I turn to look, and it's still there. I've had a visitation from the most beautiful being I've ever encountered in my life. Many of these things were shared experiences, so I wasn't alone when these things occurred. |

| When I was 12, I was visited by a Being who induced an OBE in me and warned me that someone I loved was in terrible danger. (The "Being" was distinctly feminine and benevolent beyond any shadow of a doubt. The love manifest in her was almost palpable when I was out of body.) I was at my great-grandmother's at the time, so I thought it was her in danger, but it turned out that my 2 sibs were trying to climb the hayloft in Gramma's barn. (No, I didn't know what they were doing when I had the OBE; I was chronically ill, very sick at the time, and I was napping in the living room before the sibs even went out exploring.) Mom went looking for them and made them come back to the house, because "your sister is white as a sheet and babbling about somebody dying." Apparently Mom took me more seriously than I believed at the time. I later learned that sister broke up in hysterics because I was obviously off my gourd. The hayloft (and most of the barn) fell of its volition about 2 weeks after I had this experience. Gramma had very little doubt that the loft (at the very least) would have fallen if they had tried to walk around up there. --- My mother and I are both frequently visited by the ghost (?) of one of our pets: a Meezer cat named Andy who died a few years ago. On cold nights, he jumps in bed with one of us. I can distinctly feel the bed moving like a cat is walking on it, but turning on the light reveals... no cat. And yes, this has happened when my other kitties are locked out of the room and there was nothing in the house to walk around on the bed. Mostly, when I feel him, I just murmur, "Hi Andy," and continue on my merry way to sleep. I think the light disturbs him, and I want him to stay where he's loved and comfortable.

| Wow Lotus and dorothy hanna, you 2 have had really interesting experiences with this. I wonder, do your experiences ever make you creep out?

| Creeped out? No way. I'm on a quest to experience more, but it seems that I can't really induce it; it just happens when it wants to. The hayloft thing would have creeped me out if it had been me having clairivoyant visions or whatever... but since it seemed to be a separate entity who had pre-cog, it just made me wonder why she visited me when my brother and sister were in danger. (Unless she's just inexplicably linked to me in particular. Which brings up another question: where were my sib's "guardians" during all this?) It's more troubling on a metaphysical level than on a viseral level, you know? Of course, the stuff that I've experienced has been fairly benign to benevolent.

Gosh, when I was reading this I thought it was me who had done the post. Eh, the exact same thing happened to me. I freaked out, all the details, the clothes, it all appeared in the mental image and then, bam!, I run into the person. Pretty awesome. |

| Hi everyone, I so glad I've found this forum. I'm new here, but I'll share some of my experiences. On more than one occasion, I've been visited by spirits of friends or relatives that have passed to the next world. These visits come to me during my dreams. I've had evil spirits come to me also during dreams. I don't like those, but it's usually a warning. It's difficult though to intepret what they are trying to tell me. I don't share my dreams with many, because as you know, many people will not understand. In other words, they think I'm off my rocker! I've been having dreams lately that indicates my husband is in danger. In my dreams, he is dying. This is very scarey to me. I know he is not well, but he refuses to seek medical help. I feel this is a warning to me, but I can't force my husband to go to a doctor. I'm taking my dreams as a warning to prepare myself and enjoy each day that we still have together. The above are just a couple of my experiences. Glad to be here! Irene |

| I've not been creeped out, per say, by any of these experiences, but have found myself very upset, on two ocasions when it seems I had two seperate OBE. At the time I referred to it as, LINKING, as I felt called out of my body, and I traveled to a certain place, and in both occasions found a friend of mine, not yet dead, but nearly so, and dying. The first was unrecognizable, as she was so wiped out from a huge car wreck, and I didn't know it was her, but she was laying in the wreckage, all a quiver, and a bloody mess. Didn't really look human neccesarily. I put my hands on the head, and put my face against it also, and seemed to kind of MIND-MELD with her, and immiediately got a vision of this person as I knew of her in my youth. She came walking through a number of people, and none of the people seemed to be aware of her presence, and then she looked up, and saw me, and came over to me, and smiled. I said to her, "Your not supposed to be here, are you". She smiled and relied, "No. You won't tell anyone, will you?" I told her, 'No". At my answer, I immedietly knew she was dead, and I retracted very quickly, and emotionally back into my body, which convulsivly awoke in great sobs. 3 weeks later, the news reached me of her death, in the car wreack. The 2nd experience, I was called out, and came down to see a childhood friend lying on the ground, all bloody. She was in much pain, and was concious, and saw me. At seeing me she began to speak to me saying, Oh, Dorothy. It hurts. I knelt down beside her, and held her. I could sense it was very bad, and she was frightened. I put my face against hers, and held her while I whispered into her ear, "It's O.K. You can rest. You can go. It will be O.K. You are not alone." I felt her go, and I drew back, and looked at her lifeless body, and like the first experience I had, I snapped back into my body, and awoke to convulsive sobbing. I waited to here any news, as I am not in close contact with many people from my childhood, but eventually 3 weeks later, another old childhood friend came by with the news. |
