Flashes of Light

A few months back right before going to sleep I remember having a flash of light go off in my head while I was falling asleep. It wasn't too long after I fell asleep that I woke up to my body vibrating and I was able to have an OBE. Not too long after that I remember reading somewhere that having those flashes of light had something to do with astral projection.

However, what is happening now is that I can willfully make those flashes of light happen with my eyes closed (its like a camera flash going off inside my head) but nothing ever comes of it. I don't know if this is more of a medical issue/condition/ability or if it relates to something more spiritual. Any suggestions or thoughts?

I've never heard of such a thing, you might want to look into some deep-research to figure out what is going on.

Do you feel any tension, dizzyness, thought provoking? Anything at all when it happens?

No symptoms to speak of. Like I said it doesn't happen involuntarily I have control of it. Could be a physical/medical explanation just figured I would ask here and see if anyone had heard of it or experienced it.

the only ever flashes of light ive ever expierenced happened to me almost nightly for years and yares since i was a child up until now where theyre are less frequent (or im more tired and pass out easier haha) but when i would close my eyes to go to sleep, i would see flashes like as if while your eyes are closed and someone turned on the light, thats yellowy glow but rapidly like someone was playing with the switch. i used to test it and think maybe it was an alien or something playing with the lights and try to time it so that id open my eyes while i saw the flash on, when i did it was dark. i dont know if that has anything to do with anything..but maybe we can both get some answers

Now that you've explained it a bit more, i have had the same problem. In my opinion, it is due to stress and being around bright lights, or being up a long time. I wouldn't say it is supernatural, just the brain trying to release any excess energy taken in from the sun or other source. Kind of like a discharge.

My solution was to take a shower, or get any kind of water into my body, turn off all the lights, and stare for about five mintues. I hope this helped

Thanks for your reply Yazkin. Mine is a little different, it isn't involuntary I can control it.

yep happens then very often for me too. Generally they catch us there since we are often not in a receptive state during the day.

I've had this happen to me - NOT voluntarily. Twice now - the second time was just last night. I had woken up in the middle of the night. I was about to fall back to sleep, and as I was laying there, it was like somebody shot off a flair gun in my head - big flash of white light, sound and everything, like a rumbling in my ears - and then felt a wave of energy flow from my head down through my body -it made me completely relaxed, almost like I fell asleep immediately, but this most recent time - I stayed conscious. The last time I think I just fell asleep. Then I felt like I was floating up out of bed. I was FREAKING OUT as this was happening and I started calling for my spirit guide, but I don't think he came. I started trying to calm myself down and I figured out that I could float around.

The thought actually crossed my mind that "Maybe I'm astral projecting?" and I started floating around my house. I didn't think to look at my bed to see if my body was still there, and it was really dark anyway - and plus, I kind of was scared to look... so I figured if I was astral projecting I was going to check things out! I floated downstairs and tried to go out my back door, but just as I was doing that, my step daughter's alarm clock went off. I heard it from downstairs and suddenly the backdoor was solid and I couldn't go through it, and then I woke up. It was 4:30. My step daughters alarm clock actually WAS going off.. and I think that's what pulled me back. But it was so weird. I've never experienced anything like that before - well, with the exception of the light flash happening a few weeks prior.

I'm not sure if it was just a dream or what - there were 3 things that were "out of sorts" - 1) when I went out the bedroom door, the door was open. In reality, it was only open slightly. 2) when I went downstairs, it was completely dark. In reality, we'd left our Christmas lights on the front porch on all night (well, actually my husband had turned them off, but they've mysteriously been turned back on in the mornings. He thinks the neighbors have the same remote control as us. Its either that or our guides are playing tricks)We also have a christmas tree in the dining room that is on a timer - it's not supposed to shut off until 6 am, when i was downstairs, it was also off. Completely dark and 3) When i tried to go out our back door (a sliding glass door) the curtains were open. We always close them at night. So... I'm not sure what to make of it all?
