To start, there are some nights I cannot sleep and what seems to work the best for me at the moment is taking half of a melatonin pill (1.5 g). Since I've been doing this I have been having extremely lucid/vivid dreams. Even what seem to be smells will wake me up out of them. I had one dream in particular that I'm wondering about In it is me and an old friend/sort of past love interest. He lives out west and I am living out east. He is sitting in an office at a desk facing a window that appears to be overlooking the water. I enter the room without him realizing it and am now standing directly behind him. He is still unaware that I am there so instead of tapping him or making my presence known. I reach over his shoulder, pick up his pen, and write some sort of message on a notepad. I can't see what I've written though. He turns around shocked to see me, jumps up and gives me a hug. Then I wake up and when I woke up I remember feeling a little sad. Maybe as if I missed him? I haven't physically seen him in about 6 or 7 years and haven't spoken to or about him in over a year. So I'm wondering two things: 1 does anyone else dream this vividly on such a small dose of melatonin? 2 what do you think the dream is representing? |

I dont think it represents anything in particular, except that it fulfilled a desire in your sobconscious to go and check on that friend. The desire was there and when you took the melatonin, it affected your body so that the astral body projected with your being aware of the projection. Since the desire was there in the subconscious, it influenced your astral body to go and meet him.

I have extremely vivid dreams with Melatonin. The first time I took it I had a nightmare that was really bad- a childhood version of myself chasing me with a knife through a dark forest. It seemed to last forever. While I do have lucid dreams quite a bit (none lately) I don't think I have ever had one on Melatonin. But I love lucid dreaming- I can let my imagination run wild in ways I never imagined- it is so much fun! I am sorry though I am not experienced with dream interpretation... |

As far as your dream goes it seems that simply you miss him. It seems to be that with him looking out the window is like your mind realizes that he is focused on his own life or his future, but you want to be there with him and/or thinking of him. He doesn't notice your presence and this could represent how it feels with how reality is between you guys. It seems you want to get in touch with him subconsciously and that is why when you woke up, it affected you. I personally don't see much symbolism in this dream, but the best interpreter of dreams so is the original dreamer. | |
