Why can't I astral project??

My friend does it so I know how to tell when you're about to exit your body and as soon as I reach that point I come slpelt back to consciousness! It's so frustrating! I start out wanting to move but I don't the whole time, then i see colors in my eyelids, then I feel like I'm floating out of my body, and before I exit my body I'm pulled back in, then back to colors, then shiftiness, then back to normal, I've tried multiple techniques and have even asked Jill, my guide to help me and why I can and she always answers to keep trying, does anyone else have this problem? What techniques are you using? Maybe a different method would help?

I've had a challenge getting all the way out, too. Most of the time I will get a "floaty" feeling, and then it ends. I've been "out" before but not while I was consciously trying to, and even then don't remember going far. I just floated around by the floor. Some people have an easier time. At least you're able to communicate with a guide.

have the same problem, been trying for 6 or so months now, I just get the buzzing. I can't picture myself climbing a rope, b/c I keep slipping, lol.

Ive tried imagining climbing a rope and laying still while focusing on my breathing, two techniques people I know recommend. I can't exactly communicate with my guide, I have trouble understanding more then 4 simple words at a time, so I basically only get answers like 'yes' 'no' 'I don't know' or 'just keep trying' haha it's difficult because I can't fully decode her since I 'feel' her speaking, odd right?

Ah, the rope technique is good, although, yeah it doesn't work for everyone. Robert Bruce has a book with a 90-Day training program, have you checked it out? Good info and exercises even if you don't get a full projection within 90 days. I went through some of it, but have to restart again.

Monroe Institute has their Gateway Experience Wave I CD set, which works for plenty of people, apparently. The Gateway CD uses a "roll, like you're a log floating on water" method which I have trouble working with from overthinking!

I think it's a matter of perseverance. Also Bruce points out the importance of dream recall and says OBEs are hard to remember...we may be having them and don't even remember upon waking.

Both Monroe and Bruce indicate energy is an important element. They both advise raising energy prior to projection attempts. This is in addition to raising vibration, which is important, too, to help avoid baddies whether real or imagined.
