Okay must ask: are spirit guides fallen angels?

Of course now that I am studying all of this and practicing it, some of my family members caught wind--some who are religious with the bible. They say the bible says that the god of the world or the prince of the world is Satan and that the entire world lies in his power according to New Testament. So they have been telling me that what I have been trying to channel or connect with are actually the fallen angels that fell from Heaven and who are in league with Satan and pretend to do good for people so many are mislead and are pulled away from God who said in the bible to not turn to psychics or mediums like what Saul did in old testiment.

I am just baffled by this and want to know your opinions.

They are NOT fallen angels. They are simply the equivalent of you - a soul. I respect your family's beliefs, but you are a grown woman who can believe in what she wants.

Spirit guides come in many different shapes, sizes, forms, and origin. Some come from other galaxies, other dimensions, other planets. They are all souls - energy beings just like our souls. As long as your vibration is high (happiness) and you ask for protection by your Guardian Angel(s) and the God within, heck, your Higher-Self even, you really won't encounter any entities that will harm you in any way.

EDIT: I also laugh (sad really) at those who are so firm in their beliefs, yet they do not experience what they believe. Experience matters far more than beliefs. Remember what Buddha once said: “Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”

I personally have not been told to do "evil" stuff to others by my guides. On the contrary it seems those who tell you that your guides are in alliance with Satan is doing more harm than good; they are the ones who are being apathetic, faithless, belittlement of others, not compassionate, etc. At least that's what the majority of people I've seen that believe in the bible. =\

It is also due to this spiritual awakening that I was able to derive all my understanding into a signature (underneath my post). Now here I am trying to live my life everyday by being the existence of love, living light (none of the clearly 'bad' stuff), and internally validating every damn thing I do. So if for my beliefs I am in alliance with Satan, so be it. Every act I do that are due to compassion and love will be misconstrued as "manipulation," but hey some people really are so firm in their beliefs that they see nothing but evil. What lives they must lead...

So by your families reckoning incest, child abuse stoning, murder and war etc is all gods will? It's all in the Bible!

And wasn't the Jesus written about in the Bible in constant communication with God, wasn't Mary in communication with one of the archangels at least, I think you'll find the bits about mediums was put in by priests who hated the idea of ordinary people communicating with anything higher than themselves, after all what's the point of a priest if he doesn't stand between you and God.

I have asked the guide I use to visit sometimes regarding this questions. She wass a bit like upset hearing this idea. She said we should not offend angel guides by saying they are fallen angels (okay these were not the exact words she used, but the point is the same ;P ).
So the answer is no.

I'm new to all this psychic stuff, and I'm still trying to get my head around it, but I'm also christian.

I pray to God and I talk to these spirit guides or whatever, and I don't see anything wrong with it. I've mostly been told to do good and spread the love and hippyish stuff like that. I kind of see it as a way to better communicate with God actually.

Really, truth is in the eye of the beholder. I know that most of the people here will probably tell you "no, of course that isn't the case," but most Christians do believe this. I grew up Christian myself. There's no real way to scientifically prove it or empirically prove it either way. Christians put their "faith" in the Bible and mystics put their "faith" in their spirit guides and higher selves.

So, in regards to religious beliefs, if you cannot ever empirically know what the "truth" is, you need to ask a different question, one that only you can answer:

Is this the version of reality that you want to accept in your life? Do you want to believe that all other religions are actually worshiping Satan, that psychics are devil worshipers and that people who have never heard God's word go to hell anyway?

These things are part of the package, so if you want to adopt the whole belief system of Christianity like your family has, that's all part of the package, and if the end, that's what your heart says is the right thing, go for it.

But you don't have to choose that. What I'm trying to say is, you got to check your heart and decide for yourself what is right. For the longest time I tried to use my head to answer the question. I wasted so much time. I only got my answer when I checked my heart.

When I first started getting deeper into this a few years ago, I had a lot of internal conflict. I was surrounded by religion at every turn and I would always have highs and lows everyday.
The best thing I decided to do was separate myself from all of organized religion. Let life teach me what it can. So I have a few beliefs that I've acquired on my own and I love them more than I could have loved something I just read. Some things turned out to be the same as organized religion, but knowing I discovered it for myself made me feel connected to them further. Still, for the first few years my stomach would drop if I told myself to stop believing in the Bible, even though I wasn't really religious. It could instill fear in me at the time

Not sure if this was relevant to your interests, but your thread made this pop into my head.

I don't think us telling you if they are or aren't fallen angels can really help though. That thought of what your family told you will always be there until you set it to rest with your own discovery :]

Christianity actually doesn't even come into my mind anymore. As far as im aware, Jesus wasn't christian, he was pagan.

Anyway, that's off topic. Spirit Guides aren't fallen Angels. Again i agree heavily with what Veloci pointed out about what Buddha said.

To explain would take too long. What i think these people need to do is stay where they are, and allow you to make the decsion to work with whoever you wish.

May i reccommend though first working wth your Higher Self. Your higher Self organises your whole life, especially whoever guides you. So when you get to know Higher Self, Ask he or she to bring in your guides for you. That way they will be genuine guides Higher Self is like a piece of God. Infact, what i've come to realise is that you can pray to higher self because you have this individual piece of god with you at all times lol. It's really comforting.

First, I must say, Bible is a bunch of nonsense, contradictory as hell and for the most part personal diary of psychopathic, sadistic deity of barbaric Jewish tribes. Biblical moralizing is like Josef Fritzl's rant on how the young people today are immoral.

On the other hand, Bible provides "protection". People are protected through staying in deep ignorance, focus on just one book and running away from everything else. Who does nothing, screws up nothing. Which is actually good for some people.

However, when you attempt something occult, real and working, it can be screwed up and therefore can be dangerous.
What you try to do here is, unfortunately a deep anachronism. Channeling spirit guides might be useful for neolithic shamans to provide guidance to the tribe.
But today the great goal of all humanity is to develop our own reasoning abilities and contact to our higher self, which is, as far as we are concerned, omniscient. This is what makes people great geniuses and leaders, and leads us on the path of initiation.

So it's up to you to decide, if you want to become an initiate, or instead become dependent on advices of beings you can't actually see, get your hands on them or kick them, if they provide wrong advice. What's worse, there is a payment. On path of initiation, you pay by losing your vices. But to some self-invited astral advisors you pay with your own energy, which they use for their own development. It's a typical case of parasitism... Sometimes they suck people dry, so they have to gather a group of followers, from which they drain energy. And enjoy the attention in the process.

Whatever astral, whatever voices in head should be regarded with utmost suspicion, for it is no different to meeting a masked guy at night on Bronx street. Astral acquaitances must be tested and verified, they are not 100% reliable Astral world is on average not more advanced than humanity, seeking advice there is easy, but unwise. Astral is the synonyme of watery, nebulous and illusive wishful thinking and desire, not of objective advice. It is right next to us and humanity has a long history of working with astral beings, this is why it is so easy, but it doesn't mean it's any good to you today. It's sad, really, people who can keep their distance from suspicious people and old men with candy may drop all caution in astral contacts. Well then, hear this, not everyone is nice up there.
