Did I Enter the Astral Or Was This Just A Dream/Nightmare?

So, for the first time, I attempted to enter the Astral. I listened to a binanural beat when I fell asleep. After a long while, I wasn't sure if I was asleep or dreaming, but I could feel my legs vibrate, then I told myself that this must be it and relaxed my upper body. However, after that I don't know what happened. Then, I think I was in a dream, no, a nightmare where I layed in my bed with creepy insects that I've never seen before. I got scared, but eventually I tried to kill the biggest one, a violent caterpillar-looking ... thing. It ran away but then an exterminator caught it and when I asked what it was, he said "some kind of mysterious entity." That's when I wondered if I wasn't dreaming, but in some part of thr Astral with low-level "creatures" like that one. Then, an even bigger insect/fruit hybrid creature wrapped itself around my arm, and I remembered advice saying that one should show no fear in the Astral so he doesn't get attacked, and screamed out loud "I've had enough of this!" causing an explosion of white light. That's when I woke up.

So was it just a failed attempt turned nightmare or did I actually go to the Astral?

That's the thing, it might've been subliminal fear because that night I was pretty nonchalant about the whole thing. I was just thinking stuff like "I wonder what I can do when I get there" and "How am I gonna leave this house once my astral body comes out," lol.

Yep, the creepy-crawlies. In my own experience, they don't actually do anything... just disperse 'em with white light, or move past that level of the astral.

Why not build yourself a "sanctuary"? Work on it in your waking life and imagine it, then see yourself there.

Creep crawlies or the unknown less desirable entities are the reason for not wanting to go there! Although non intentionally experiencing astral briefly, ultimately the outcome was a positive one, but other than being able to connect with spirit guides and GA's, that type of exploring doesn't appeal.....however enjoy reading others experiences

I'll just use the technique that has been passed down through the generations of humanity next time: "Look over there!" and then I run outta there, hopefully into a much higher plane, lol.

What you described does sound like you were Astral, but sometimes on the Astral consciousness can get very unclear, a bit mixed-up and dream-like, and then there can be vivid dreamlike or nightmarish events, while at the same time you are aware, intermittently, of being "Astral". That can feel a bit odd, and can be a bit scary.
I think the best thing to remedy things like this is to keep a strong sense of focus and purpose as you are going out. And another thing might help is to deliberately raise your vibrations in preparation for going out. Prayer will help, or the equivalent in your own belief-system. Calling on Higher Beings for protection too is a good idea.

Ahh, so that's what it was. I still can't believe I actually did it, though. I wqs thinking that it'd take me weeks to actual go Astral so doing it on the first night is so awesome. I'll try to raise my vibrations next time and ask my GA and guides to give ke some protection when I try it again tonight ... if I can do it again tonight, that is. I kinda don't know how I did it, but I'll try.

So what can I do when I'm Astral exactly? Is there anyway I can enter someone's dreams or project myself to them, even if I don't know where they live? It'd be great to see someone like that, like an old friend or something. Then .... I'd do all that space/universe-travelling stuff that I'm always reading about, XD.

Well you can do most things you need to or would like to when you're Astral, but you might find some things feel kind of "barred" to you (like you can't get in or something) That's usually because there is like an astral "firewall" up, and you would have to have a certain permission or knowledge to enter. Those are usually private spaces of people who really do know their way around on the Astral and are protective barriers or similar.

Politeness also works there just as it does here. You can't just go busting into someone's room (unless you know them very very intimately and you know they wouldn't mind a bit) and entering their dreams likewise.....

But things are inclined to find their own level, and if there is a strong bond with someone you could end up naturally entering their consciousness or dream space

I have met people on the astral previous to meeting them in real life. Their appearance usually is very similar, too.

Hm, interesting. Looks like I'm gonna be spending quite some time getting used to this new world, haha, XD.

Another question: is it possible to travel to any point in time via the Astral Plane? And how would I do that? I'd assume that I just ... think about it, and it happens? I want to see my neighborhood decades ago. I've always had a little thing for history, lol.

Although I myself have never been astral, I'm glad for you. It's not like I've tried. It's pretty scary to think about leaving your body. I think I'll stay in mine until I'm ready to try such ambitious things. I still have to explore a lot of this plane. And the last thing I want is a fruit/insect hybrid wrapping itself around my arm. Haha, you'd probably have a much better time than I did. I kinda just did it on a whim, so I really had no idea what I would've done if I actually got there. And, I guess I actually did go there and since I had no idea what I was doing, I just sorta drifted to the lower parts where I wasn't supposed to be, lol.

I didn't really set out to go astral. As far as hobbies go, I have ones that are much more productive and a better use of my time.

What happened is that I realized I was *already* going astral, once I recognized that this is what was taking place, and that my astral experiences tend to increase in frequency/vividness whenever I am practicing any kind of meditation/mental discipline with any frequency.

HAHA! I love it! Actually I'm selling off some land there.....it's about a hundred acres of orchard....any offers?? (no kidding it really is nice. There's an old house, about 5 bedrooms to go with it with a long driveway.The bidding starts at one million....)

When I was out I turned around to see this gnome-like critter all curled up next to my pillow. I said "Did you just hit me on the head?" He laughed and said yes. I said "Well don't you do that again! That hurt!" I was quite annoyed at him. He disappeared.

If you have a phobia of something that a astral being resembles, does it get bigger and scarier?

If I ever projected, and found insects crawling on me I would scream like a baby. I have an issue with real world ladybugs as it is. Any tips for this?

Just try and remember that they can't hurt you. They just try to scare you from what I've heard; they're pretty harmless, unlike the bugs of the physical plane, haha. But yeah, if anything imagine that you're the god of your own world and have the power the do literally anything.

Having a strong and creative mind might be the key to success in the Astral Plane, if you ask me. For instance, I didn't think that I would be able to get rid of the bugs in my experience, until I thought about my anger/fear coming to an explosion of white light and then next thing you know it actually happened and I managed to get rid of those bastards, lol. I think anything you think about doing in the Astral Plane, you can actually do, so if you're afraid of bigs I'd suggest thinking about teleporting to a much safer place like the sky or the moon or something, because it's possible in the Astral.

You can also do a MBO to your Guardian Angel to protect you on your trip from the lower-level monsters, or do a prayer.

Lol, another failed attempt! However, I did indeed have a lucid dream, I think.

I was in a store when these two robbers came in and held me at gun point. I was able to escape by running and catching a bus that I could take home. I didn't have enough money to take the bus, but the bus driver said it was okay. Then I got off at the wrong stop - a gas station, but a student who got off with me told me that I can catch another bus here that'll take me home. That's when the robbers somehow caught up, and as they shot at me, the student said something like "don't worry, you got this." That's when I imagined the bullets stopping in mid-air before they hit me, and then when the robbers fired again I decided not to take any chances and willed myself to get out of the dream. I knew I was dreaming!

As for the bus driver and the student, this morning I speculated that they might've been my guides or my GA taking the shape of something that I would recognize. It was a fun dream, regardless.

It's really fun! I'm happy that I've gotten into this stuff ... It's things like that that makes me realize day by day that we really are powerful beings; much more powerful than we think we are.
