What are your ideas on Leslie Flint?

I first read about him while I was reading one of James Van Praaghs books. (I forget which one.) James was at an actual seance with him before he died and had experienced his ectoplasmic "voice box" phenomena.

For those unfamiliar, Flint claimed he was able to channel the dead (and the famous, like Marylin Monroe and Rudolph Valentino) and allow them to use his energy/body to manifest an ectoplasmic voicebox that allowed them to speak in their own recognizable earthly voice. From what I can gather, some form of "matter" (called ectoplasm by him) came out of Flint's own body to produce the voice box. Not only does this sound super far-fetched (to me) but supposedly it could only be happen while in total darkness. So naturally I am skeptical, but I do so trust in JvP and to me, he lends credibilty to Flints claims. He also supposedly underwent many scientific test to make sure he wasn't faking (filling his mouth with dyed water and binding it shut only to have it remain the same after a long conversation, binding his hands, etc.)

Has anyone else done reasearch on Flint and his claims? Is this even possible? Visit LeslieFlint.com for more info and to hear actual recordings of his sessions. So spooky if this is actually real! Just wanted to get more opinions on him from people who might be familiar with his work. It is very intriguing to me, especially after listening to some recordings!

That reminds me of that desteni productions chick on youtube who said she was a portal and does youtube videos channeling Heath Ledger and other fokls. SUPPPOOOOOSSSSSEEEEDDDDDDLLLLLYYYYYYY. i always figured she was full of it.

Never heard of this Leslie woman though, so I guess I'm not much help and this is a waste of a post.

Hmmm. Will have to check her out. Well, Leslie was around long before Internet and You Tube, so he didn't have the technological advantages. It is very intriguing to me because of the amount of testing he underwent and how they repeatedly bound and gagged him yet he was still able to produce very clear voices.

Until reading your post, I had never heard of Leslie Flint....now after doing some preliminary "googling" on him, I am quite intrigued.

Thanks for opening my eyes to his work. I want to sit and listen to some of his recordings when I have some free time. It should be very interesting, as from what I have read, no one was able to debunk him throughout years of scientific testing.

He is very well known in the Spiritualism community. Spiritualism is a religion mainly in the UK and the US. There are Spiritualist churches scattered all over the world, and in some places it is called Spiritism. They believe in life after death, that the spirit continues as energy after we shed our mortal shell, and that spirit can communicate with the still living on earth.

I spent hours listening to his recordings a few years ago and was very impressed. But to believe that what he is doing is real, you also have to accept in the possibility of a human being being able to manifest "ectoplasm" which fashions a voice box. A medium who can manifest ectoplasm is known as a "physical medium" and true physical mediums are extremely rare. They also have a very bad image as frauds, due to shenanigans in the late 1800's and early 1900's when there were many many tricksters who pretended to be able to do it, to con people out of their money. So for a person to come forward in this day and age as a physical medium, they have to be extremely good and be prepared to be tested, or extremely stupid, because sceptics will do anything to prove them frauds.

I know someone who actually met and sat in seance with Leslie Flint, who swears he was legit. Most spiritualists I know believe he did what he said he did. I think if he had been a fraud out for the money he could have milked it for millions. But as far as I know he was a very humble man who mainly held private sittings for the information, not money or fame. Just the fact that here not many have heard of him shows this.

I just thought I'd put my two cents in. BTW I am not a Spiritualist, but am open to their beliefs. I have attended a couple of church services which run very much like any other Christian church with readings, and hymns etc. The only difference is that they usually have a guest speaker who might do clairvoyant readings or healing.

I'm just so intrigued by him and his work, maybe simply for the fact that it IS such a rare occurrence that a person would have this 'gift'. Up until reading Van Praagh's book, I had never heard of him either. Of course, my guard immediately goes up because it is such a fantastical notion, but after doing some preliminary research, I could not find anything that read that he had been 'outed' as a fraud. So my interest and intrigue go up even more!

I'd love to get my hands on his autobiography but I think it is out of print and from looking for it on ebay and such, it is quite expensive.

I did spend a bit of time listening to his recordings and found them quite eerie. The voices each sound so different and unique! And I love how most of them center on how humanity is going about things all wrong these days- the most important things out there are our love for each other, forgiveness and respecting the blessings God has given us. Although I will admit, I would have loved to hear something specifically on God and a little more information on him.
