Default Memories of Things that never happened...

Last night, at some point after getting off work, my mind wandered briefly, very briefly to the show "Lost" specifically the episode in which Desmond meets somebody in his past, while at the hatch who delivers a message. He then wakes up several years later in his own bed, and is shaken by the fact that it was no dream. It was a memory, however it never happened, yet it did all the same.

So later on I went to sleep, and it was like any other dream for the most part, except for this one aspect. I saw myself in a room of the house I grew up in, and there was this box, full of poetry, and there was some company name on the sheets of paper. They were printed poems, not written ones. It startled me in this dream I was in, because the poems spoke so much about me personally. The address on them, from where they were sent, was somewhere around Salem, West Virginia.

The dream continued, and so on and so forth, and as my alarm started to go off this morning, and I turned it off several times, fighting to stay asleep, and wake up, (as I normally do), I kept thinking back to this "box of poetry" and I remember saying to myself, "Okay I was asleep, that was a dream." and at the same time saying, "No.... That was a memory.. It wasn't a dream..."

Now, I do not recall ever seeing any "box of poetry" or anything of the sort during my childhood, yet, this dream memory was so real, that I honestly believe that it happened.

I recall while trapped in this state of sleep, experiencing this, I called the number, (My phone literally just rang as I typed that... "Jolly Richards" on the ID), Anyway, and it was disconnected. I sent a letter to them, and received nothing back, and got the sense that since I had tried to contact these people, they would no longer send me anything.

This was all a memory. And it was disturbing to wake up and realize that, because, as I've stated, it never happened, yet it did....

Interesting....

I saw somewhere on youtube that dreams are expressions of your higher mind(astralboobaby video). They are actually as real as this place(probably why you feel it's real). In fact I've had at least one vivid dream and woke up feeling the dream was more real then here. It goes against everything we were taught, but when you're in the dream it always feels as real as here.

I have locations in dreams which recur again and again, and have become familiar places, just as the places are where I live in physical life. Yet they are places I have never ever been to in physical life. There are even recurring dreams of European villages and towns (seem like Italy or the south of France) -places I have never visited. (and I don't think of those places very often either, or watch similar on tv)
So it does make me wonder if some dreams may BE memories....and as time isn't as linear as we like to think it is....maybe even memories of the "future"?? Who's to know? (I had an event in which I had a sudden memory of something, once, and it turned out that thing was the next thing that happened!)

And then there is the thing where do we really know which is our "dreaming self"?.....This one...? Or the one we experience in what we call "dreams"? Maybe we are actually dreaming our lives as they are now...?

Sometimes I ponder on the thought that of what would happen if someone was to begin to dream so vividly, that they were seemingly constantly trapped in a dream. They go to sleep in this "realm" and wake up in their dream land.... then when they go to sleep in their dream, they wake up in this "realm" again. How long do you think it would take for one to lose complete touch with reality? Or transcend to a new level of spirituality? Hehe
