Hello. I am a complete novice in the psychic/paranormal topics and my knowledge is minimal. But I am very curious to one incident and I would love for anyone to interpret this. A while ago, I was staying over in my grandmothers house (shes 90, I was sleeping there to make sure everything was alright etc.) and I was sleeping on the top floor. It was morning and I was lying in bed. I had my eyes closed (I wasn't asleep). While I was enjoying the sleep, I heard the (squeaky) door opening and then a rasping noise aganist the floorboards, it was kind of like what you would hear when a dog walking along the floorboards. I didn't open my eyes, why I don't know - whether is was something preventing me, that I couldn't physically open them, I can't tell/remember. It felt like this dog type spirit had pushed his head aganist the door and paced the right side of the room once, as if it was checking on me. It felt as I was being protected, I most certainly felt very safe and no negative stuff. At first I thought it was our own dog, but after I opened my eyes and got downstairs, it was impossible that she got down, as she was in the kitchen sleeping, with several doors closed and a babygate at the stairs preventing her getting up anyway. So it was something else. It also wasn't the first time, my sister-in-law also had the same experience in the same room a few weeks prior to my event. Could this dog be the dog that died about a year ago, she was there on the grounds for many many years, I grew up with her. Would just like to hear peoples opinions and thoughts of this, as I'd love to know more about what happened. Thanks! |

I believe that animal spirits sometimes stay with there owners for awhile after they pass, especially if that animal was a long term part of the family and the bond with them and their owner/ family was very strong. I have read somewhere that when an animals spirit stays behind, they are there because they feel that it is their duty to protect the family, but, perhaps like with people, maybe sometimes they do not realize they are dead?

My husband and I see our deceased black lab in our house all of the time. She wanders into rooms and has followed us down the hall. We have never freaked out about it when it happens because we always think it is our new black lab. We even call the new dog's name just to find the new dog running to us from a totally different part of the house. It is a little freaky when that happens. So yes, I personally believe it could be the dog that died there. |
