can anybody enlighten me on the matter of crystals such as quartz and variants?

i have read some info, but i want to know if anybody here actually uses these crystals for meditation, intention-manifestation, astral projection, lucid dreaming, telepathy...

i have acquired a nice piece of clear quartz a long time ago... and i have it here with me.. and i don't know what to do with it

i have also found quite different info on which stones are good for me, so i'm confused. i'm leo, born in july.

and also, apparently "which one you like the most, that's the one for you" doesn't work with me, cause they're all equally pretty to me :\

Try putting your crystal under your pillow at night you could have very interesting dreams. Crystals stimulate the dream state.

Also, carry the crystal with you, it will attune to you and become more "your's" as time goes by.

Also, try taking a nap wtih it on your forehead, place it right between your eyes where the third-eye is located.... that will stimulate more visuals during a short nap.

One more thing is to sleep with it, on a different day, with it on your chest... that might work better.

Try all these things with your crystal and then report back... I have no idea which one will work best for you. Also, do each of these on different days.... so take your time with this, the influence of crystals is very subtle.

There's also a book out there called " Crystal Therapy:How to heal and empower your life with crystal energy" by Doreen Virtue and Judith Lukomshki. In this book, in one part anyway, they show you how to make a crystal grid, using several different kinds of crystals in a special shape (for example a triangle or square) to accomplish a specific goal. You set up this grid then empower it and just leave it in your home, and it does all the work. Some grids are for abundance/money, others are for Love/romance, protection, angelic communication, harmony, health/healing... etc.

I like these grids, they seem to be very powerful when I set them up. I could feel the energy coming right off the grid I made for angel communication and awakening the areas of my brain to open me up more. I'm sure the other grids will get you results too. It's a highly recommended book!

I know a little about them. Stones and crystals have energy (mhz) that can align with healing and knowledge. When I find ones that I am attracted to I will clean it with water first and then meditate or journey to the stone to find out what I am to use it for. I can be very amazing what you will learn.

Be aware that many crystals have energy and hold/take energy so they need to be cleaned often, or sometimes they need to be covered. Ask your crystal what it needs to work at its highest level for you.

A very wonderful book "The Book of Stones" by Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsain is fun to look up the meaning of crystals and stones after you meditate to see if you get the same message.

The most comprehensive book about metaphysical properties of crystals would have to be "Love is in the earth" by Melody. No photos though. "The crystal bible" by Judy Hall is also very good, especially for beginners (has nice photos).

Quartz crystal is very versatile, for overall mental clarity, aura cleansing, general health, dowsing and such. Depending on the formation it can have added properties (refer to Judy Hall's book for all the formations).

Crystals tend to amplify your intention, which is good. Always choose one that "calls" to you. As you go along you might be starting to feel the vibe they carry (tingles, heartbeat, etc).

Oh and the one mentioned by Angelpsychic444 also talks about formations, and how to make grids etc...but isn't quite as "complete" as the other ones. It was the first one i bought, though and it was a good beginner's guide

my piece of quartz crystal is about 80 grams. would a 1000 grams piece make a lot of difference?

do big crystal balls do better then small ones? do 6lb healing point quartz crystals (as seen on ebay) heal better or faster then small ones?

Size is irrelevant. How well/much it has been polished is also irrelevant. For me anyway. I'd even say something raw-er is better as it has been less tampered with. So long as you feel it wants to work with you (funny thing to say, I know). For example, I once purchased a seraphinite that I was going to turn into a pendant and as soon as it got in the palm of my hand...I knew I could not sell it to someone else. That stone is "for me".

Just the same way, I once had a selenite wand that would not "work" at all for me, and as I was putting it for sale at the market a woman fell in love with it (I ended up "gifting" that wand to the woman since their vibes seemed to match perfectly...).

By the way, 80 grams is a fair size!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This string of post's inspired me to try a cystal grid in my bedroom, which I got from the crystal book I mentioned in my post above. I put one piece of rose quartz in each corner of my bedroom and one piece of hemetite under my bed. This is the exact way it's supposed to be done in the book, you could either use hemetite or rainbow obsidian under the bed. So far I'm going to go with hemetite since I already had some but in the future I might switch to the obsidian just to see how it goes.

Anyway, I've been sleeping much, much better lately and also my dreams have gotten much more vivid. I highly recommend trying this if you wish to experience how crystals can influence your life. This crystal grid is specifically for a very restful night's sleep and to do away with insomnia. I don't have insomnia but I do love the way my sleeptime has changed.

Also, the rose quartz and hemetite were small pieces that only cost me one dollar each, so I'm not using big pieces or even expensive ones. If you buy them in bulk, you can get them even cheaper.

On another note, if you wish to change to the whole vibe of your apartment or home....it doesn't matter how big your house it, this would still work. Go to each room in your house and put a small piece of rose quartz in each corner... after finishing each room, you'll notice a definate "shift"... in the general vibe of you home.... this is a really good thing to do. Even children will respond in positive ways to this, and anything negative might just drop away.

Oooooh it is turning into a conversation about crystal dispositions in the house (love it!). Okay, here's my experience: put a citrine in the far left corner of your house (from the front door) or of the room you use the most. Abundance will start to flow!

For sleep, I can strongly recommend a labradorite not far from the pillow.

To counteract electro-magnetic smog: black tourmaline. I have a chunk of black tourmaline next to my computer, and one under our bed (as there are lots of plugs there...and only one outlet in the room so we can't really do it any other way). My first chunk (around the computer) started turning white and crumbling away so I recently got two new ones. Really worth it .

In my bedroom i have quartz, selenite and apophilite. In my "work" room, lots of different one, including a sphere and candle holder made of amethyst. It really chills and focus me when I work. However as my mother came from Europe it has been "her room" for the time of the visit and she said she never dreamed this much...so amethyst may be influencing sleep as well (?).

An amethyst geode can also recharge crystals (and apprently its colour darkens or lightens depending on which crystal is getting recharged).

Okay I gotta run as my baby is very grumpy now but I love this thread .

I somehow like the idea of having crystals for different things, now I've been often confrontated with the idea

What could you generally recommend for dreaming/astral projection/trance/intution?

Just curious, I'll try it out, sounds less dangerous than some rituals

Lol you sound like me. I can't walk by stones without stopping to have a look.
But I think what they mean is the one that compels you the most, not which you find the prettiest. What was the last stone you couldn't walk away from?
When I was feeling a little bit lost I feel in love with a gorgeous turquoise pendant, I was a bit strapped for cash but I WANTED this pendant. The sales rep made me try a pair of earrings with it and well lets just say they never came off. I walked out the store with both of them on, they remain favorites still.
The same thing happened a couple a months later with a moonstone ring.
Sometimes you encounter stones that make you scrap out your last couple $$ of spending money, and sometimes you know by what always attracts your eye. Sometimes, some stones make you feel a surge of energy that you know right away it's signaling you.

The thought was more about affecting the aura or chakras.

Make it easy on yourself and just get some rose quartz, and put one in each corner of your bedroom. Then get a hemetite or obsidian and put it under your bed. I've done this, as I said in my other post, and it's amazing how my dreams are much more vivid... try it and see how it works... you need to get very fancy.

This will help your astral projection and dream state...!

so... i have cleansed my quartz crystal in sea salt water. and i should program it now. i read somewhere that you can focus your intention looking on a facet of a crystal until you see it becoming like a moving picture. do the same with all facets, and the crystal is programmed.

is this... like... even possible?

Yes programming crystals works, I can't guarantee you'll get results, but it does happen. From what I understand, each crystal has a deva or spirit inside it and this is the part of the crystal that can help you. Just give it a shot and see how it goes. extremely good for obtaining mental clarity when meditating. But after each meditation you need to set the crystal in the sun to cleanse it of the negative energy pulled from you.

it might sound crazy - but crystal and gemstones like Jade - have always been wonderful to me in my meditations. Amethyst is great, too!
