Default Astral projection experiences -- weird

So, I've been trying to astral project for the last 2 years. I don't try very often, though, and that may be why I still have yet to succeed. However, I have two experiences that have stuck out that seem bizarre, and I'd like some insight into them.

1st one -- last august. I was laying in bed, and I closed my eyes and tried to "climb the rope" out of my body. I was envisioning going up, up, getting close to my ceiling, and then BAM, everything turns white. Not mentally, but what I was actually seeing, but my eyes were closed. I got really freaked out as I was not expecting it and opened my eyes. I did not experience the vibrations or the state you are in just prior to astral projection (which I do experience often but never voluntarily).

2nd one -- about a month ago. I was laying in bed, and my mental state was probably optimal or close to optimal for astral projection, and I was, again, "climbing the rope" out of my body. I felt that weird fatigue feeling in my torso that astral projection articles have described and I have only felt whilst doing this technique. Anyway, I felt this pretty strongly and began to feel some of the vibrations that are associated with this type of experience (and have felt them many, many times, but only at times when I don't want to astral project because it's usually at night and entering that kind of limbo state I feel scared, because it's night). But then, my heart started beating really rapidly and I didn't feel frightened about exiting my body, but I started to feel really warm and dizzy and by that point I knew it would be hopeless as for some reason my body was no longer calm, even though I was. I continued to try to exit my body, but my heart was still beating very rapidly and the warm/dizzy feeling continued.

Any thoughts?

I don't know if you realize that your astral body separates from the physical one anytime you fall asleep. Astral projection is already happening. Therefore what you are striving for is conscious astral projection, to be able to observe something that is already taking place.

So fears about it only mean that you are afraid of becoming aware of that psychic process where the physical body and the astral one desynchronizeds.

Maybe it's because subconsciously you're a bit scared of entering a "New World" It is a bit scary, not necessarily because you would encounter anything to be afraid of, but because the whole experience is unlike our usual lives that we are conditioned to. The instincts are on high alert when something unusual starts happening.
The only answer is....keep it up until you get really used to it!

Astral projection is not the same as lucid dreaming. I've had many lucid dreams over the years, but none of them describe actual out of body experiences. Thanks for your input

Thanks for this advice! I know I need to get past that fear. I think one thing I have is that I don't want anything to happen to me or my body or whatever while I'm "gone".

Sounds like you are an expert but listen to this:
The only difference between astral projection and lucid dreaming is that in lucid dreaming the astral body though it is desynchronized from the physical one, remains interspace into the physical. In astral projection the astral body is displaced from the physical one, seperated out of it in terms of location. In lucid dreaming the location of each is the same.

In astral projection the two bodies are not interspaced and desynchronized, in lucid dreams the same desychronization occurs.

In both cases, if the person is not objective to it, it is like it never happened. If I am unconscious while an explosion occurs, then for me there was no explosion.

I don't consider myself an expert; it's just what I believe. Your theories are interesting, too. Thanks for sharing
