Default Tsunami dream

I'm just writing about this because it's the first time anything like this has happened to me and I think some people will be interested to hear it.

Just before I woke up this morning (at either 05:30 or 06:00 GMT, not sure because I took a 30 min snooze ) I had a very atmospheric, magical dream. Me and my partner were supposed to be going on a camping trip near an ancient village in the English countryside. It turned out that I'd missed the train and gotten the location wrong, though, and instead of "camping" we were actually just sleeping on a beach somewhere on the shore of England. It was dark and we were by ourselves. We were laying on the shoreline itself, in sleeping bags; the waves were gently lapping at us and curling around us but somehow we weren't getting wet. As we looked at each other though, we both somehow knew that while we slept, the tide would come in and the waves would wash over us and we'd drown. It was terrifying, and yet reassuring because we would die together.

I woke up feeling very freaked out. The dream was unusual in itself, because I usually have more mundane dreams, without any atmosphere or great feeling to them, whereas this one was really overwhelming. Of course there was a strong emotional side to it too; the thought of me and my partner dying. That would have made me feel even more strange.

When I told my partner about it this morning, he said there'd been a tsunami in Japan in the night. I was surprised enough at that, but then I looked it up later and read that the earthquake occurred at 05:46 GMT! Like I say, I had this dream either just before I woke up at 05:30, or just before I woke up for the second time at 06:00.

Have been thinking about it for the whole day since. Just wanted to share!

Thanks for sharing your story Kei. It is scary to dream something and then find that something similar happens the day after :/

Kei - Thanks for sharing your dream. I periodically will have dreams and then wake to discover something has happened, so I can relate to what you're saying. One time I had a series of dreams about being on the London Underground (subway), including leaving one station which had smoke pouring out of it from the inside, and looking for clean air with other people. When I awoke I discovered a series of explosions had happened in London.

Hopefully it will feel more like a validation, confirmation of an outside event, if it happens more, and not so scary.

I just logged on to start the thread for my Tsunami dream I had 2 days ago. I dreamed of two and a half Tsunami and one would be on the coast of Queens (which was an opposite: California). Thank goodness i told my husband that morning. I was so afraid as I saw the 30 foot wave coming in. I reminded him this morning. He was a bit freked out by it.

Amazing also that people around the world could have precog dreams about the same thing. That as we sleep we are in another plain of time and space. Next time we have one lets write it on the forum and see how things go.

Also things like this give me a chance to pray for people. I have been praying for good results despite nature's fiery, the whole day.

I'm not very good at predicting, but it's possible, that on the Californian Coast could happen something, I didn't look after it, it came to me.

Let's send them specific energy/prayers.

I've had a number of precognitive dreams. Also, some experiences where I would hear a voice telling me about something - either in the twilight state just before sleep, or just as I was waking up in the morning. Not about world events or public-scale catastrophes, though... just things relating to my personal life.

I always felt that I encouraged these experiences by doing meditation regularly over a period of years. But it's interesting, to me, that my precognitive experiences occurred not during my meditations but in and around my nightly sleep time.

Thanks for all your insights

I don't feel afraid exactly; in a way I'm pleased! I am still a little overwhelmed though. I've always been interested in the paranormal and intuition, mainly because my mother is very intuitive in that way, but at the same time I've always thought my own intuition was very weak, almost non-existent. So it was a shock to suddenly get a dream like this. Maybe it's the universe's way of slapping me in the face and telling me I'd better think again.

I've been writing down my dreams this year, and remembering more of them as a result, so I think that may have helped. I also tried meditating a couple of times, although it was at least a month ago. Mainly I've just been thinking about my subconscious and intuition a lot.

I liked seeing others posting similar threads in this forum

This happens to me all the time. It is always as if I am in the scene of disaster facing it. I was dreaming of Tsunamis for 3 days in a row before the 2004 Tsunami happened though I had a new born baby at that time. Same thing happened before any earthquake or Tsunami took place as a major disaster. Now two days before the Japan Tsunami happened, I was again dreaming it. I lost a sibling in a water accident, and two days before I lost him, I had the dream about the accident. But in the dream, it was me in the water accident not him, but it happened to my sibling instead.

Only thing I cannot tell is where it might happen. If my dreams can give the geographic location also, would be good.. to use the ability to give as a warning.

Hopefully there are more people out there with dreams with more clarity that can set up a site for disaster warning that come in physic dreams.

I was about to create a new topic about tsunami dream and saw this thread.

A few days ago(or week),in my dream(night dream) I saw a big bridge was collapsing in front of my eyes cause of sea waves, and I couldn't believe it was happening ,I felt it was dream like in my dream

Then, very big sea waves started coming towards me,I scared but then thought that "Hey big waves only happen in my dreams,so I 'm not in "real world", I am in a dream." And after becoming aware that it was just a dream,I woke up.Then I told my dream to my mother.

After a few days passed,my mother said me that Tsunami happened in Japan.I immediately remembered my dream and reminded her the dream I told her.

Just thought I'd throw in a little +2.

I had a dream that entirely happened in Japan, to wake up to the earthquake news the next day. Told a friend and he says he had also dreamed about Japan that night.

I just figure when enough people's thoughts are on one thing, more sensitive people are likely to pick up on it like that. That whole global conciousness idea.

Default Could I be a little Psychic I am new on this site..

Hi...I just had to post this. The morning of the Tsunami/Earthquake I woke up I live in Massachusetts...the first thing I said to myself was.."There has been a catastophic end of the world earthquake/tsunami somewhere over the ocean {i remember i was specifically thinking it was Japan}. I walked right over to my computer, turned it on and there on CNN....Disaster in Japan.. I immediately emailed my sister and said I do have some worldly psychic thing going on in my brain...briefly...when I was in New York on a 5 day vacation....me and my fiance at the time where there from 9/7-supposed to leave 9/12. The whole time we were sightseeing i was uncomfortable scared and not right. On 9/9 my fiance asked me to go to windows on world for lunch , we were staying at the Marriot in times square...I freaked on him and said these exact words.."No, because if the terrirists strike this is where it will be." I did not even know why that came out of my mouth. He said i was nuts and was a head case. He begged me to go up and I said no I want to go back home to Boston. We argued and fought all day and night I told him i did not feel comfortable in New York and we needed to get out. He couldnt take my going on and on and being afraid of everything ...so he checked us out on 9/10 we went to Penn Station to grab the Acela...i was so freaked in the Penn station i told him something was going to happen i felt this darkness this torment this end of time feeling..total dread. When we finnaly got on the train.,,,we had to sit in seperate seats apart from each other. I sat down next to a girl who was crying. She was much younger than me maybe 25 years old. I tried to ignore her and as we passed the towers far over on the left of the window, i remarked how tall they were and i was glad to get out of NewYork. This girl said all day she felt depressed and had to get out of the city for some reason. She worked at Cantor Fitzgerald and was calling in sick for the next day and was taking the train home to see her mom.....The next morning , I turned the tv on ...............and saw what was happeniing in New York I freaked out bad......I know i have a little bit of some kind of psychic energy thing going on. Right now i feel before Easter....something big real big is going to happen in California or some place...a big earthquake again with tsunami...sorry but i am feeling it big time..thanks for reading, i hope i am not nuts but stuff like this happens to me alot...tell u more another time..bye bye

This may sound extremely strange to some people, but my energy goes absolutely wild when something like a natural disaster is about to happen.
I first become extremely depressed and then it accelerates into this mind-raging anger.

Till date, I feel it comes out of 'nowhere', however the more I think about it, the more I think I am picking up on some crazy energy in the world about to be unleashed onto us.

It happened to me before the earthquake China, the floods and cyclone in Australia, the earthquake in New Zealand, and also before the earthquake/tsunami in Japan; not to mention numerous others in my past.
lol...as you can imagine, I have been feeling a lot of intense emotions lately.

But nothing in comparison to what happened to me last night. I suddenly felt a wave of emotion that hit me out of nowhere. It was 1am, and I just started getting extremely upset, tears in my eyes, sadness like you wouldn't believe. I kept thinking to myself "why am I getting so upset?". Then anger consumed me to a point where I actually fell off my bed and it felt like fire was burning through my veins. Such mind drenching anger... my energy was acting as if I was being possessed.

I woke up this morning feeling completely burnt out. The only thing I could think about was whether or not the situation in Japan had in fact worsened. Or could it possibly be that another disaster is prowling the Earth, patiently waiting to strike.

I truly pray that I am in fact wrong, and these emotions were the result of other factors...

Ok so you didn't actually dream about Japan or a tsunami. From what you said the only thing in common is that your dream took place at the ocean and nothing relevant to the natural disaster that occurred.

What does this have to do with the tsunami that hit Japan..?

Thanks Kei for posting this thread. Thanks for those of you who sent links, very interesting and thanks to those who put themselves out there about their experience on this topic. It has helped me to feel happy that we share a gift and are sensitive and intuned to what will happen around us. With this great gift we have I always wished there was some way to prevent or warn with specifics to help people.

Please continue posting and using the forum as another journal source for your dreams, no matter what you think people might say or think. But for the most part people are supportive around here. Keep posting!

Yeah it appears the person wants to relate her point with the fact that she got some signal about something ominous happened around the world.

The main two points were the fact that we felt a large wave - like one in a tsunami - would wash over us (I don't think I explained that clearly enough in my original post, I made it sound more like the ordinary tide, apologies) and perhaps more importantly, the timing of the dream, since it was just a few minutes either before or after the tsunami happened.

For me, the atmosphere of the dream was very different too, but that aspect is hard to explain and I don't expect anyone to take it into account.

I understand why the dream doesn't sound much to some people; others on this forum have had far clearer dreams with a much more obvious link to the tsunami, and they've been very interesting to read about. But other people think this dream had a precognitive element to it and were quite amazed, so I wanted to share it online too. Of course everyone is free to make up their own minds
