Default Having trouble concentrating...

I'm trying to get intouch with my spirit guides but I can't seem to clear my mind or even concentrate on my breathing. I always either fall asleep or something weird happens. One time I saw some odd, fleshlike creature try to crawl out of a portal looking thing. Another time I felt my heart beating behind my eyes and it felt like my heart was about to explode. I don't really know what's happening or what I should try...any suggestions?

I quote myself

Quote:
When we want to do intuitive work, one of the most essential things is to simply stop the chatter of the mind, it's like a surface of water.
Just when it's still we can clearly read what reflects on it and most of all seperate where it comes from.

You can use music with specific frequency patterns for extra help.
Names like Hemisync, Isochronic, Theta-waves, whatever helps.
I use it for example in learning, my mind feels very light even after hours of concentration.

Next step is energy work and realising conflicts.
By that you strenghten the signals and are more likely to interpret or translate the energy as it is.

Do spiritual exercises that expands or transform your consciousness states.
That makes your mind more flexible.

Personally I think that nutrition plays a role too, because it influences your emotional state, you have to find out for yourself what serves you and what not.
If you can't get calm, what comes into your mind?

When I can't get calm? Hmm..I guess just things that have happened during the week, things I need to do later, all kinds of things! Things are like little tiny bugs teeming through my brain.

Then you should use some training, that's very normal when you are new.

In the beginning it is easier to meditate with music.

"Brainwave"- stuff also is good.

But basically I feel it's for you about finding the balance, like a child would begin to ride a bike and need to get a feel for a balance first and then the side-to-side-movements will diminish, so it's perfectly fine to jump off the bike the first times, or to stop when it's demanding.
