Default Lucid Dreams/Hypnosis

Hello All, My name is kyle and I am new to any sort of mind exploration. I would love some tips on how to lucid dream. I have started keeping a dream journal and performing "reality checks" throughout waking the day. Also, before I go to sleep I try to concentrate on lucid dreaming as I drift to sleep.
I remember my dreams almost every night and can recall them without my journal for days after I have them. Also, I have no recollection of ever having a lucid dream..... I have been doing this for 2 weeks, still no luck..... any tips..... do I need a lucid dreaming machine (head-set)?

Also, as a Christian I was curious if anyone has any sort of moral conflict studying this sort of this thing while professing a Christian faith..?

Hey, after ONLY TWO WEEKS of journalling, you can remember dreams for DAYS?

How long did it take you to learn to read and write? Two weeks?

Come on, give yourself some time, you're doing more than great!

I agree, you are rushing it

It took me something like 3 months of doing reality checks before I had my first really lucid dream. Give it time.

You might already be doing this, but when you do your reality checks, take a moment to imagine what you would do if you are dreaming. For example, when I do my reality checks and determine that I am probably not dreaming (you can never know for sure) I then think, "If I was dreaming, I would first remove all hallucinations by saying 'all hallucinations disappear.' After that, I would look at where I am. I would then invite my spirit guide to join me for conversation." I imagine myself doing all this.

I also use a watch to help me remember to do reality checks, and I wear the watch to sleep. The watch is set to chime hourly. So whenever I hear the hour chime on my watch, I immediately do a reality check.

I also have the Novadreamer (its pricey but in my opinion was worth it). It isn't necessary, and I don't use it anymore because I sleep more comfortably on my stomach than my back, but it can really increase the frequency of lucid dreams.

I haven't yet found a good guided visualization for lucid dreaming to use before bed, but if I could find one, I think it would be very useful.

I will start imaging what I would do if I were dreaming when I do my reality checks. How often should I be doing my reality checks throughout the day?

Hi, I am so pleased to read your post because I am very similar in that I too remember dreams for days, but I have always assumed that everyone can. I dream in immense detail, very vivid colour and with deep emotion.
I am also a Christian and struggling somewhat at the moment with very real experiences which can only be described as psychic. I don't try to make them happen - they just do and I feel surrounded by Angels, as well as the spirit of my Mum who has passed. I feel in conflict between what the Bible says and what seems to be happening around me. I am sorry that I am no help, except to say that I understand where you are coming from in your post.

I read you post about you mother and grandmother... I sympathise with you....

leviticus 20:27
‘A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads.’

Deuteronomy 18:10-13
10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable

2 corinthians 11:14-15
14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

something to think about but not what i believe 100%

Hi Kyle, yeah - it is because of passages like those you quote that I feel in this dilemma. I cannot deny that I experience things that are outside the generally accepted "normal" - it's part of my existence and has always been. I look at the New Testament and wonder if the Gifts of the Spirit encompass increased psychic awareness, but then, at other parts, it is condemned. Aaaaaahhhhh!! The bottom line is, what I experience in life is MY reality and it doesn't make a difference what is written in any book, Holy or otherwise. My reality is what it is, and I didn't choose this anymore than I chose to be born female.. I find Christians to be very closed minded and quite judgemental when it comes to this, so it is quite a lonely place to find myself. Perhaps answers to these questions will unfold in time.

When you say "generally accepted", do you mean by those who closely follow the word of the Bible?

Because world-wide, that is far from being "generally accepted".

If I have abilities like those quoted, and I use them from the heart, e.g. for healing purposes, does that somehow make me an evil person?

We all have dreams. Does becoming aware of dreaming inside a dream constitute something outside of the natural, or is it simply a very natural process?

God didn't write the bible. Humans did. And those humans were very acutely aware of how to maintain what power they had over others.

What would be your highest ideal: to follow the word, or to follow the values underlying the faith, like kindness, and love?

Hi Mynder, when I refer to a generally accepted "normal", I am not referring to those who follow the Bible closely any more than I am referring to any other religion or lack of. I am referring to my experience of what is culturally generally accepted as normal. It is my experience that if I was to announce to my work colleagues, (of whom there are many, representing several countries worldwide) that I had a dream within a dream (which I experience without effort), the majority would consider this as highly unusual and something which they do not experience regularly, if ever. Description of my dreams can be highly amusing for others, due to the immensely vivid detail, and for them, dreaming as I do, would not be considered normal, generally speaking. I am on this site, as are many others, looking for explanations and sharing experiences on the journey of increased knowledge and awareness. I most certainly do not consider anyone's reality as "evil" and I would hope that others would refrain from judging me likewise I feel I make it quite clear that I find a number of aspects of religion and psychic awareness confusing, hence I am on this site. We are all learning.

Actually, most would probably envy you the vividness of your dream world!

Thanks for throwing up this thread by the way. It was one more synchronicity for me to delve into my own dream world more deeply again, start a dream journal back up, etc.

I highly recommend daily meditation, just as you drop off to sleep, see if you can perfectly relax your body and clear your mind. You even find you fall straight into a lucid dream state this way. Even if not, the practice of increasing self awareness in a quiet place can really help improve your self awareness in dreams, making them more vivid and leading to the spark of lucidity.

I don't personally recommend a lucid dream machine as I prefer to induce LDs naturally however some people like them. You may also want to try lucid dream supplements like calea z, galantamine or choline; although once again they're not really necessary, but they can lead to some very vivid dreams and interesting experiences. Like meditation, self hypnosis is good, and I recommend brainwave entrainment if you haven't tried it. All of these techniques and more are discussed on my website if you need more detail.

Good luck

thanks so much for your comment.... as I am work now I do not have have much time to visit your site... but I will tonight as soon as I get home.... thanks everyone for the awesome info......

UPDATE: last night I dreamed that I was at home with my wife when my aunt along with a man came to my door. I answered the door and the man damanded that I give him money. He clained that he bought an item at auction which my father had placed under conignment. He stated the item was broken and he wanted me to repay him. (I am still unsure why my Aunt was present) I asked the man what was wrong with the item and he stated that it would not get hot but it would get "boiling cold" (dont know what the item was) At this point I was thinking "that doesnt make any sense, that cannot be real, am I dreaming?" And then I woke up.... Not sure if this is progress but it felt like a step in the right direction..... Any clue what the dream meant.?
