Experience with a Tarot reader Ok, so my friend talked me into going to a psychic that she goes to regularly for a tarot reading. We went together as a "lunch date/girls day out" kind of thing. I did my best to clear my head before the session so I could test my "intuition" on this woman's character before she did my reading. We'll say that my impression was not great right off the bat. But I still let her do the reading. She gave me some information about my life that was quite correct, but also things that I know I probably radiate to someone with any sort of intuitive sense. lol. She tells me, you are kind and like to help people but often are taken advantage of and this is not returned to you. Yes...very true. Then she tells me I need to be cleansed for an extra $375 and would even allow me to pay her via payment plan! LOL!!! Wow... I see she knows how to use her abilities to her advantage. The piece of advice that bothered me most was about the things that have happened to me lately that I'm starting to feel are some kinds of messages from some spirit. This has happened on another occasion and my images turned out to be quite accurate, so now it's happening again. She asked me what else was on my mind...any other questions. So I gave her this information. First she told me to be patient and it may take a bit of time for these images, voices, etc., to come together and make sense. Then after giving her a little more information, she 180'd and said these are spirits trying to mess with my head. She said I needed to cleanse (for $375) and I need to BLOCK these messages by distracting myself when they come in. She also said I should tone down the meditation. OK...so you obviously get the impression that I was not taking this woman very seriously at this point. Has anyone EVER been told to block messages before? Why would she tell me this? How could that do any good. Oh yeah, she also told me I have a block keeping all the info from coming in...RIGHT BEFORE she told me I need to block the messages myself. Opinions? lol. Should I warn my friend that she could be wasting her money quite often? |
Classic. Read these: Avoid This Common Psychic Scam Anatomy of a Psychic Scam Then warn your friend. |
Anyone gets the cynical irony? She talks about, that you are taken advantage of and does herself... Well if you ask me she was giving you a good lesson. ~sb |

I'm still glad you went though! When you told me she had a fluro sign outside that was instant turn off to me. But i think thelessons is you know exactly what not to do and be. I think it's hilarious though hahaha. You've already been cleansed of everything ;) That silly woman hahaha. Did she have a crystal ball and gypsy clothing to finish the effect? lol |

Anyone that ends a reading with "I can cleanse you for $xxx" or tries selling you love candles and offering payment plans... is a fraud in my eyes. |
I agree with all of the above posts; These types of gifted "Psychics" will say anything to make a buck. Please, warn your friend before she loses all of her hard earned money to this woman. |
Erin says and i believe,"True reader or psychic will never tell you to come back every time or routinely. They will hand you understanding of map or show you light on your path. Or may be tell you, you're going in right direction or not. This is their certificate." |
Thank you, Erin!! I read both and the description of the scams seem to match this woman's agenda perfectly! I'm just thankful I've got some sense about me and didn't fall for it. One thing you discover in really "dealing" with spirits is that they're usually aren't evil, dark, or ready to eat you! lol. Good thing I'd figured that out myself before I went to see her or I might have been incredibly freaked out by the time I left. Oh yeah, I forgot to add that right as she started telling me I need to block these messages, something banged the door she was sitting right next to VERY LOUDLY!!! LOL!! I'm used to it now, but it scared the CRAP out of her! We both jumped, but I think the fright stayed with her through the rest of the session. haha. She opened the door really fast and of course nothing was there. She was a psychic with very large pupils after that. hehe. Quote:

SB and Jeremy-Yes!! I caught the irony right away!! LOL!! Luckily all of these years of being gullible and easy to take advantage of have taught me a few lessons, one of which is not to give loads of money away. Says miles about her kindness to offer such a deal, huh? lol. I suppose since she's a very gifted and intuitive woman, she was probably aware immediately I never plan on calling her back. Thank you to EVERYONE for all your advice!! My friend has been warned, but unfortunately she doesn't seem to worried about the woman. She's been going to her for a long time. The impression that I got is that the psychic told her that a dead loved one was trying to reach her through her dreams, so she's helping her decipher the dreams. Of course, my friend doesn't have a dead loved one but she happens to know someone who died that she keeps dreaming about now. I don't know how to tell her exactly what is going on without making her feel like a complete idiot. The woman may very well be trying to contact her through her dreams, but I don't think she needs a psychic to interpret for her regularly. Hmmmm...while we're on the subject, any advice on how to tell my friend she's being worked over and made a fool without making her feel silly? Maybe I should just send her here! :) |
I would send her a link to Erin's blog posts on the subject, and also send her a link to this forum thread, as well. Some people want so desperately to believe, that when someones deceiving them, they have a hard time seeing the hidden agenda that would normally be so obvious. |

So, did you find the answers you were looking for about the things happening to you lately? (not with that scammy psychic, but for yourself, I mean) |
Test the psychic with invisible but obvious tests. (Pretending a passed off person that seem to have importance to and to look if she can connect to him and what she is suggesting for example) Not that this is the standard way to act, but many people need the "in your face!". ~sb |

lol. No seriously, my best answer now is that there really is no explaination and I should just listen when things come my way because for the most part the information has been helpful to someone in one way or another. :) Quote:

Then, when you feel that is all the info pertaining to the question, ask your next question by writing it down. Apart from that, there are a few extremely sensitive and able individuals around these forums. If you're looking for other ways to get validation or better "contact" with your channeled source, they can most likely provide a few good ideas for you to experiment with. The answers, as always, are already in you. |

I've actually been very lucky to make some wonderful friends on here that have been very helpful and understanding. You are right, there are some very sensitive, amazing people on here that love to help just because that's how they roll...that's right, I said it. :) And they don't even charge $55 a pop. Looks like you're right there with them! Thank you Mynder! |
LOL!! No moles, no long fingernails or huge gold hoop earings, but she and her mother (who she worked with) were both wearing black flowing wrapped skirts and black blouses. She was actually fairly young and liked to roll her eyes a lot. lol. Made me feel a whole lot LESS CRAZY seeing her roll her eyes at my statements. I don't think she meant it as some sort of, "Oh jeez listen to this looney," kind of body language, though. I'm pretty sure it was a just a habit she picked up somewhere. She stopped rolling them after the big bang on the door, though. haha. You know, to be fair, I think the woman had some ability. I really do. But she's obviously using it to take advantage of people and I personally believe things like that come back to kick you in the butt eventually. I feel for her if she keeps it up for much longer. Hopefully she'll find a way to making a living without scamming people. Quote:
