Default Vanishing Twin Syndrome

Has anyone else ever been told they are a surviving twin?

Today I was told that I am the survivor of vanishing twins from two months after conception. An identical twin sister.

It was "diagnosed" through Kinesology and its a strange feeling. I am still processing it. I couldn't find any other discussions on the board in regard to it.

It does make sense to me because I have always had an imaginery bestfriends all my life and they are usually female. I have come to accept that they are probably angels or spirits. A fascination with anything to do with twins, an intense want for a twin as a child and a save the world complex.

I have tried speaking to my Mother about it as she is very spiritual and open minded but she looked at me is I was mad and went on to explain how it was a lovely fantasy.

Before finding out I often felt like there was this huge void in my life I was trying to fill but now I feel at peace with it. I am a twin, my imaginery friend is actually my twin sister and I am safe, never really alone and its okay to relax and be me. Its not that my life is now perfect but I feel this enormous sense of relief and security in knowing.

Has anyone ever experienced this? I know it sounds bizarre. I'd love to hear other perspectives and experiences.

I haven't heard about it, but if it works for you, then it is all good!

I do think you might be careful to talk to your mom about this though. I cannot imagine it being easy for her, thinking it is real that she had 2 children in her womb and now only one in her life.... That might be the reason why she shot down the suggestion so fast.

Thanks Sandra! I can see now why it would be a confronting idea for my Mom. It makes alot more sense now.

I have been thinking it over and decided rather than holding onto it as a concrete fact I have to prove, I'd rather view it as a theraputic tool. I choose to believe it and see my sister as a tie to the other side and a comforting presence. And my family is free from having to hear about it. No one is right or wrong.

I have heard of this, and I have always thought that I might have had a vanished twin as well. One reason is because my parents had two names picked out. The other was Jessica. I have always just had the feeling about it kind of like what you have said, but at the time when I was born they did not really do sonograms so my mom did not even know I was going to be a girl, lol.

Your parents having two female names chosen does sound like an interesting turn of events, particularly considering they did not know your gender yet. I think unless you have a sonogram to prove your status, it is upto the individual to decide whether or not there is a possibility you are a twin. Sounds to me though, like you might have been. Its so strange how things turn out.

Have you ever asked your parents what made them choose two names?

Default vanishing twin syndrome - the astrological way

Hello and good evening from Germany.
I am glad, I found this forum - thank You for making it possible for me to join You!
I found this blog by searching th above mentioned topic - the vanishing twin syndrome.
My nephew is seven years old and has severe physical and psychological problems f.e. extreme fear of being alone. Some days ago I was told that he was a twin but the other one vanished somehow.
I am very interested in astrology and would like to look at the problem from that point of view. Therefor I need as much dates of the "born twins" as possible - the date of birth, the exact time and the place of birth. I donīt need names or so - so it will be absolutely anonym for everyone.
Thank You all so much in advance!
