Excuse me if I've started this thread in the wrong place. I couldn't find an exact place to put it.
I've had nerve pain in my arm after an injury. Sometimes it aches badly at night. A few things help a bit but when the pain starts climbing from level 2+, only sleep or a painkiller usually does any good.
Once I 'hovered' my hand over the area of pain and the pain just vanished! (yes it does come back, but as soon as I do it again -it goes!) I just hovered my hand about an inch away, didn't rub the arm or touch it.
Could this effect be something to do with etheric energy or magnetism?

Not sure. But I'd be interested to know if you could put a surplus of 'healing' into your arm and make the pain stay away after your hand has moved.

Well, as I was really curious about this phenomenon (I have no history of being able to do healings) -I tried to will my arm to continue pain free. It did for a moment or two (maybe two or three minutes) then came back again. But as soon as I hovered my hand over it again it went. This didn't cure the cause or anything, just took the aching away. Then a minute or two when I stopped it came back.
I will experiment with this. And see what happens.

Perhaps it is mind control, I have read somewhere that alot of our pain is in our mind, and there was a study done once where patients were given a placebo of a very powerful pain killer, and over half of them found relief from it. It is all mind over matter~ if you truly believe something is going to help your pain, it very likely will. I lightly rub lavender oil on my boyfriends temples when he gets a migraine; I told him it was an ancient trick that people did generations ago, and this usually helps him.. I am sad to say, but I have no magic powers, but he believes that this is works so therefor it does. If it helps, keep it up!

It might seem unconnected but a few years ago, when I used to have a television, there was a problem with the aerial. Sometimes the picture on the tv would go fuzzy, especially when the wind blew, etc. I noticed that when I held my hand (usually right hand) up at the tv, and concentrated, the picture always steadied out!! If friends were there, I used to do it as a joke. They laughed. I guess they thought I was tricking them. Well this used to work so often, it became a normal kind of thing to do. Eventually I got the aerial fixed, and then got rid of the tv!
Anyway, the feeling of 'hovering' my hand over my arm, is very much the same as what I used to do with the tv. Of course it is very difficult to go about life hovering my hand over my arm, and when I forget to do it or get busy etc, the pain comes back just the same (exactly as the picture on the tv set used to go back to being fuzzy if I forgot it!)
Very strange.
But this is why I wondered if it's etheric energy, or magnetism.

How interested are you in scientifically researching what exactly is the cause of this phenomenon, and how much interested are you in exploring how to best use this ability?

Good question.
I don't know for sure if this means I have healing ability. If I find I have, then it is my duty I think to investigate further about it and would definitely like to find out what I must do next.

Another strange thing happened the other day. My friend is in Intensive Care, he has been very sick. I looked at his monitors (for blood pressure, heart rate etc) His heart rate was doing about 100 a minute. He had just had some physiotherapy to clear his lungs so was still stressed from that. I put my hand just over his heart and concentrated while whispering that everything was OK and it was time to slow down a little bit now....then I watched the monitor, and the heart rate started falling immediately until it was 90, then 88, then 80.
I was unsure if this might have just happened naturally as he was coming down from the physio, so I backed off a little bit to see what would happen, and then his heart rate started going up a bit again, so I did the same thing with the same result.

One important note about the phenomenon. It doesn't feel particularly Spiritual (that of course would depend on my intent when I was doing it I suppose), but it doesn't feel like from another Realm or from Higher Beings, etc. It feels purely mechanical, like magnetic energy.

It is actually "electric" in nature....what you are doing.
Especially if it is nerve fires you are soothing with this.

Of course, I have no scientific evidence to back this claim..it's just a understanding I have about energy, is all.

Yes exactly -kind of "electrical" or something similar.
When this happens, it doesn't feel like a Spiritual thing any more than raising your arms or nodding your head feels Spiritual. It feels like I said -mechanical. But it is something that could be infused with Spiritual intent of course. I mean it would be possible to feel in the Heart as well as do this -or just do it without any particular feeling.
It's hard to describe -I maybe am not describing it right. It's like just simple energy from the body or magnetic field.

Not really. My computer hard drive busted a while back but that was because I dropped the damn thing on the floor! I got a new one. Never again! It cost so much!
No I don't fry electrical stuff any more than normal wear and tear eventually kills everything!
But I am very sensitive to overhead high voltage power cables. I feel weird when I drive under them or walk under them. That's happened for years now. A pressure on my head, a slight dizzy feeling, a sense that I'm buzzing in a not very nice way.

I am not terribly bothered about the sensitivity I mentioned, and don't mind feeling it, because it alerts me, like an instinct, to something which is wrong for me. (which may even be wrong for anyone) -to hang about too long near -and god forbid, live under, a high voltage power cable

Bluestar, what does water do for you? I mean taking a swim, or even just a bath (hopefully in a not too cramped tub ;-) )?

I can't say I have a definite suggestion for you apart from finding a lake, lying on your back in the water, and stretching out your consciousness in all directions. I feel you are attuning to something, in transformation, and that you will be able to learn more about it and control all this better given time.

Thanks Mynder....yes I love baths, water and me are OK up to a certain extent. I've often thought a sensory deprivation flotation chamber would be a cool idea. I wouldn't mind spending a couple of hours in one.

Oh man...this is something I am interested in trying, but I am only voicing this here to feel as if I am contributing in some way..because I know Mynder....he will now haunt me until I find one in my area..or find one in my area for me because he is relentless...and he loves me

...and then I would only have one question for everyone in this...

Does anyone here feel that this tank experience would maybe somehow emulate the same effect as maybe the "sweat lodge" thing the native americans do?

If not..anyone know of any places where one can have the "sweat lodge" experience?
