Developing abilities for the first time. They are out of control! Help!

Hello to everyone here! I hope we are all having a peaceful and calm day!

I was recently asked by a friend, a clairvoyant, to attempt a few remote viewings. Some were of images, others were of places and the last few were of people. I was expecting nothing, although I have had some experience with picking up on spiritual energy. I did not believe I had any abilities and figured my results would reflect this. Instead I was able to view distant images and emotions with uncanny accuracy. My remote viewing of images was about 60%-80% accurate. I was able to feel the surroundings, almost as if I was channeling the senses of the photographer. If it was a cold day, I would feel a cold breeze or feel grains of sand beneath my toes. I would hear the lapping of water against a boat or rocks. I would feel the hot sun on my face and shoulders. Other times I would get a vague image of a horizon or see a bold color in my vision. A few times I was able to sense almost everything about the image or location. Even the circumstances in some cases.

At first it was freaky for me. I really did not believe I had any ability. I have recently accepted that I do have a gift and I wish to develop it further. Sometimes the images or feelings come to me without my wishing it.

At the moment I am getting the image of bright sunlight but it is filtered through something... maybe blinds or a screen. I see a shine, like a reflection to the left. There is movement to the right. Something is distressing about this movement, as though conflict is approaching me. I cannot shake this feeling. It is a feeling of dread.

Something brought me to this forum. I believe I may have information for someone here or they may be able to help me. Can anyone help me with their impressions or experiences? I want to do something with these visions but I don't even know where to begin.

Hello Flymetothemoon, welcome to the forums!

I'm not a pro at this, but I think you are excited by your new abilities, although you're kinda freaked out at the same time, and this makes it hard to control. Maybe you should try telling ourself when you want to view things and when you don't, as a simple exercise on controlling it. Maybe someone here who is more experienced at this has a better suggestion, though.

About this feeling you have, as far as you don't see more information, then sulking over it does no good to you. There are two options: (1) concentrate on it and try figuring out its nature. (2) Try closing yourself completely for a moment, and take some deep breaths, deciding that, whatever it is you'll face it when it comes, it won't kill you anyway.
I sometimes do viewings-for-fun, and although you are probably better than me, I don't detect something really menancing.

What you are experiencing now is often called a flare. It's when all of your non-physical senses spring to life, usually because some sort of mental shield has been removed. Your description of the situation pretty much confirms that this is the case.

No worries, though, soon it will be more apt to be under control. Think of it like opening up a backed-up floodgate - when even a crack appears as an opening, everything rushes through full force.

The movement to your right is probably a visualization of fear of the unknown. Accepting and developing these abilities will change your view on life and the world around you.

Sometimes people are given a choice via guides whether they want to continue down the rabbit hole after the initial flare or if they want their guides to re-shield them from their ability. Some people barrel too far too fast to be given that active choice, however. If you are given a choice, know that its an all or nothing deal; there is no kinda-sorta-partial package.

Guides can communicate with you in a number of ways. Be open-minded for a message unhindered by negativity or doubt. It'll be either a gut feeling or a visual for you (I'm 70% sure), but other ways I've heard of include voices, dreams, metallic vs. sweet tastes, a "knowing", and even scents. Whether you're given an option I cannot say, but rest assured, you'll get some initial contact with your guides soon.

Whatever does happen, the people on this forum are quite helpful for going through the process and open-minded to whatever questions you may have. Welcome.
