Default Lucid Dreaming?

Don't know if this is what its called but everynight this past week as soon as I start dreaming I know I am dreaming and start running wild. One thing I always try to do is fly but for some reason I just float low to the ground lol? Wish life was easily controllable.

Confirm you were lucid dreaming, lucid dreaming is simply being aware that you are dreaming while still dreaming.

Your ability to modify things is one of the more common advanced skills.

Yeah, we all wonder why awake time is so resistant to change.

you are correct that is lucid dreaming. In a nutshell, lucid dreaming is being consciously aware of the dream. Some people describe it as waking up in a dream. People who are skilled can achieve full control over the dream.
I believe that the waking/physical world is just a different dimension. In some ways people with skill do control their reality.

Hope you don't mind if I quibble over semantics here, but when you say that "the waking physical world is just a different dimension," do you use the word "dimension" to mean a world parallel to our own that we travel to via dreams? Or, do you refer simply to another aspect of our ability to control our manifestations? Or do you hold both meanings to be true? Do you believe that there are two parallel dimensions and that people who are good at controlling outcomes in the dream world are also good at controlling the outcomes of events in the material world. You can tell me if I sound loopy, I don't mind.

To answer redzalez's original question, yes you are having lucid dreams, but you need to learn how to control them. I am currently having the same problem. I am not intentionally having lucid dreams but when I do have one I end up just flying and cannot see other options beyond this one. For some reason nothing else comes to mind. I think because I have been intentionally trying to distract myself from confronting deeper issues (see my post "lucid nightmare") But the landscape is usually pretty nice.

@Strawberry:

Fly to the mountains. There is a cave you can land in, with a burning torch in a sconce near the entrance, and a few more torches leading in.

The cave narrows swiftly into a kind of rough-hewn tunnel, changing into a stairway leading down....

Thank you. That's a good idea.

Redzalez,

I can remember a long time ago before I ever knew what lucid dreaming was, that sometimes during a dream I would be vaguely aware that I was dreaming during a dream. I would try to fly but would end up floating instead, just like you. It takes a lot of practice to learn to control the dream. Maybe what you can try is before you go to sleep say to yourself that when you enter the lucid dream you will remember to ask out loud for "more control" during the dream.

Regarding movement and manipulation, start imagining what you want to do all throughout your waking day. Imagine it over and over. It will become part of your subconscious, just like the whole rest of the day/week/year/life, but if you repeat the visualization/affirmation/focus enough, it will be strong enough to transfer into your dream.

That's one way of putting it at least . . .

I hold both meanings to be true. Anything and everything that we experience in the waking world will have an effect the dream environment.
I also believe that we have the ability to control manifestations and create our own reality to our liking. The manifestations work at a different level. By that I mean we have to be congruent with a certain vibe, and work for it if necessary.

Default Try this to fly...

Hello Redzalez,

Never heard of lucid dreaming before...but have flown and floated in dreams several times. (I do have a couple sleep disorders - so don't know how that affects flying abilities. Vivid dreams are part of one of the disorders).

The first time I remember flying in a dream (years ago) I was in our front yard in my dream. I started out by running and then pedaling my legs as if a unicycle was below me. (There wasn't a unicycle..in my dream I just moved my legs in the pedaling motion). The harder I pedaled the higher up in the air I went....and then I just naturally started going horizontally. That happened a few times.

After that I was already up in the air floating when my dreams began. I have floated over fields and into different rooms and down stairways in houses. Have also traveled to foreign countries in dreams. Its a great feeling! I think I will go to bed right now so maybe I can have a good dream!
