Dear All, I come with a humble heart hoping that anyone, just anyone with a feedback or knows what is happening to me can help me. Even if you have the slighest inking of what is happening to me, I would appreciate you all helping me. I am writing this email is because I have been too disturbed in my sleep lately. This started a month ago when I started helping my girlfriend's friends to walk out of their past darkness. I admit I am not an expert in this field and currently my psychology degree (University at Buffalo, The State University of New York) starts on May. The reason why I took this degree is because I went to professional help with a psychologist. He told me that the only way for me is to study it and help myself with it and that he can't treat me. Last month, I kept hearing loud bangs and noises when I was alone bathing or just before I sleep. These bangs and noises can be heard in my head only. I was on the phone with my girlfriend in my house toilet last night and I heard a loud bang. I asked her whether she have head it. She mentioned no. Alot of nights before I sleep, I will experience loud bangs, noises, followed by my mind losing control of my body as I sleep. I can sorta "feel" my spirit "leaking" out of my body. I feel helpless as I lose control of my body bit by bit. I can feel the loss of control before I slip into my dreams. Then the next thing I know I am in my dream. I had a few strange dreams before. A week ago, I dreamt I was looking into a mirror, and I saw a pale face of mine talking back to me and then the mirror became blur. I do not know what my reflection is talking about. All I can know is my actual person is not talking but the reflection is talking. I had a couple of mirror dreams before too. A month ago, I dreamt of looking into a mirror and seeing a reflection of a japanese soldier instead of my own reflection. 3 days ago, while I was sleeping, I felt that I was dead. My whole body is imobilised and I was helpless. The hold was very strong like a vice like grip to my whole body. It's as if my whole body is in a total lockdown. The time now is 3:48am in my country, I just slept at 3am and before I slept, these noises and bangs came and as I drifited off to sleep, I started shivering and shaking. The strange thing is, though I was shivering, I was not feeling cold at all. I was then brought into a dream. I dreamt of myself driving and I nearly hit alot of brown dogs on the road and as my car drove past them carefully, they became agressive and started chasing me. I felt fear even though I dreamt I was in a car. Then I woke up again the second time and my whole body started shivering and shaking again. My jaws were locked as I called out to my granny who is in the next room. I can only manage soft cries as I can use my whole mouth. Immediately my instinct is to gain control of my body. I only managed to get my left ankle back while my whole body kept shaking like some kind of elipsy patient. But I do not have any elipsy at all. This is the first time my whole body is shaking and shivering very fast. In the past, I used to struggle with myself and my darkness and spiritual stuff, I used to have sleepless nights. 4-5 months ago, I was relatively stable without any disturbances in my sleep. I went to this website and asked for help and I finally can walk of it and sleep well. Until one month ago. My dad died of cancer in my house. He can't talk but yet I can feel him talking to me in my mind giving his last words to my family. After he died, I took care of his funeral stuff with my family. From then on, my sleepless nights came back agin. This time round, there are shivering, loud bangs and noises in my mind compared to my first brush with spiritual stuff that I only have sleepless nights. I have tried to sleep in the afternoon and have always managed to sleep peacefully in the afternoon. But not at night. Soon after a difficult struggle, I managed to get back my control of my limbs. My dad just passed away a month ago. I would like to ask: 1) Is this experiences I am facing due to me facing my inner demons? I have faced my past inner demons before. 2) Is it due to my father's death that's been affecting me? I mean, I do dream of him, but when I dream of him is when I am in deep sleep and I see my dad in a peaceful state and I feel relaxed unlike now while I am typing, I am feeling weak in my limbs and hands after these **** Ive been through. 3) I have helped a couple of my girlfriend's friends get out of their darkness, not by hypnotising, but by getting to let them understand what is happening in their lives. then I used music and movies as a form of treatment after they understand. I am not a psychology student but I have experiences in getting out of darkness before and I use my knowledge to help them. Are these affecting my sleep? I can't seem to have a peaceful night sleep without being disturbed. 4) They say dreams send a message. Can I know what message that my subconsious is sending to me? I would like to have a normal life back but I can't seem to sleep well. How do I stop these things from happening to me? 5) What does these shivering and shaking of my whole body means? Why do I keep losing control of my body when I am drifting to sleep? 6) Why do I keep hearing Slams, Bangs and loud noises just before I sleep or when I feel the most vunerable? 7) Why do I keep dreaming of mirrors and seeing myself? Are all these connected to my shivering, loud noises in some way or another? 8) Is it due to my sensitivity to these spitural stuff and that's why after my telepathy with my dad, it sortof opened some portal to these spirit world which now only when I was sleep, they can enter me? If so what do they want? 9) Can you all please provide me a solution to my problems? I know it's very complicated. Even if you do not have all the answers to my questions, I hope to know your analysis so I can help myself. Can anyone in here please help me? I know I am very screwed up person but I am doing what I can to help myself. I hope you all help me. Thank you Ben |

Hi, i just read quickly over, i just want to point out one possibility since I didn't think too much on it. Is it possible, that you are brought to the awareness of a past live? I thought of the japanese soldier, maybe you have some karmic issue (karma as inner conflict) that lead you now to understand you personality better, like you did with other people? Maybe from there comes the urge to help other people? ~sb |

I would think so too.. But I have been disturbed so much that I cannot focus on my work. Right now is 5am in the morning and I'm not asleep yet. May I know what is the shivering and the loud slams and noises in my mind all about? Thank you summerbreeze for your reply. really appreciate your valuable input. |

I feel sorry for you insomnia, I'm lately sleeping badly too. When you get past life memories they're mostly the bad and emotional ones, I remember one where I was killed, nothing bad, I loved this incarnation. Seems like they have something to do with it. Loud noises are usual for a war, slams could be doors of tanks, jeeps, bunkers etc. bangs could be explosives gunfire, everything. Shivering I don't know, maybe died in a fight in rain? Maybe you should intent, to write your question on a paper before going to sleep and take your 2-3 sentences to source/guides/higher self to help you find out what's that. Give your problem fully away to them. Just in case you are tired from other attempts. ~sb |

To me, I don't think having weird dreams like that are much of a concern at all. Maybe that's because I have weird dreams ALL THE TIME so I am really comfortable with how absurd dreams can be. No offense, honestly, but I think your thinking too much and getting far fetched with your ideas. It kind of sounds like you want to hear that spirits are taking over your body when you are feeling vulnerable or something. Anyways, if you still want to interpret your dreams try this site: An Online Guide To Dream Interpretation |

If you hear crashing while you're attempting to fall asleep, it may be Exploding Head Syndrome. They are believed to be related to stress levels and I had more instances of EHS for up to a year after my father passed away in late 2009. It also looks like sleep deprivation may be a cause of EHS as well. I'm not trying to be dismissive - I just know that sometimes there could be a mundane reason behind something, just as there could be a paranormal. EHS is can be really scary. In my experience, sometimes it would trigger high anxiety for me...until I realized my cat, who is night patrol, was sleeping soundly beside me. That's when I realized that the noise was in my head. Also, this: "He told me that the only way for me is to study it and help myself with it and that he can't treat me." is weird. I've never heard of a psychologist saying, "no, sorry, can't treat you - your only help is through four years of university". A psychologist can say that they believe it is unethical for them to work with you because they feel that there is someone else who can help you more, but I've never heard of course work being prescribed instead of a referral list. One last edit: it sounds like you also experienced sleep paralysis, which is where your mind wakes up while your body is still in sleep-mode. Naturally, it is thought, humans have some sort of paralysis at night so that they don't thrash about and possibly hurt themselves during a dream...also a very frightening thing for some, when they wake up and their body is still functioning in sleep mode. If your Dad died of cancer in your home only a month ago, then you have been through hell and high water. Believe it, -I know. You are still exhausted/grieving/probably to some extent relieved/you may have survivor's guilt (that can happen when a loved one dies) If you were the main carer and also had to arrange the funeral etc, then you have really gone through it. I have great sympathy for what you have been through. Now I may be wrong, and it could be something else....but grief after someone close has died can bring on all kinds of weird feelings. At times like that there can even be a kind of breakdown. (inasmuch as the old life is broken, and the new one hasn't formed yet, and that can be such a stress on the mind and soul) At times like that anyone can feel strange things. It would be a very good idea to go to the doctor, and ask to see a counselor (someone you can talk things through with, and who will help you unburden some of the feelings and the grief etc) They may also help with techniques to help you sleep more naturally. Try it. I wish you well. |

Summerbreeze, may i know how to contact a spirit guide? I'm thinking of doing it... Maybe you should intent, to write your question on a paper before going to sleep and take your 2-3 sentences to source/guides/higher self to help you find out what's that. Give your problem fully away to them. __________________________________________________ __ Blue star, I suppose my dad's death have triggered something... Guys, I will try to sleep and bear in mind all your tips before I sleep tonight. Thank once again. |

Even something as ordinary as sleep will bring back balance and strength, and will heal many etheric-body tears and weaknesses. Don't forget healthy food too. Anyway a really easy tip to help sleep is hug a hot water bottle to your solar plexus area (not too hot of course) I bet you will start to feel sleepy soon. Do it just before you get in bed, or even lie in bed hugging it. Lavender oil helps too. |

Dear Freshmilkzone, I don't claim to have all the answers for you, but some of what you wrote is similar to things that have happened to me. You talk about shivering when you're not cold, loud bangs and noises while trying to sleep, and being immobilised in bed. I had the same things and I know how you feel, it is terrifying, especially the paralysis. I posted my symptoms on a spiritual message board and the wonderful people gave me the answer which has changed my life and taken away the fear. They told me these events can all be precursors to an Out of Body Experience, or OBE. Loud bangs and noises, hearing loud static like an out of tune radio, strange visions before sleep, violent shaking or twitching of the body, and scary paralysis where you can't move and can't even call for help, can all indicate that you are able to take the next step to soul travel, if you wish to. Once you know the signs of impending OBE, you can control it to a certain extent, especially if you learn as much as you can about it. A good place to start is reading one of the best books about it by William Buhlman, "The Secret of the Soul". It is written in plain english without alot of scientific stuff. Also of course are any of the Robert Monroe books. Maybe this is happening to you, because you are becoming more spiritually aware. I have been on a life-changing spiritual journey over the past few years, and my sleep paralysis, body tremors and auditory disturbances just got worse and worse as I got more into this stuff. But once I found out what it might be, the symptoms were controllable, and even better, you can ask your guides to tone them down. For instance, when I get all the other signs of impending OBE, I also get a frightening up and down wave of consciousness, where in addition to the deafening noises in my head and the intense vibration of my body, I would feel like I was drowning, then coming up for air, then descending and drowning again. I told my guides I'm fine with the noises, etc, but the consciousness thing was very uncomfortable and scary, and next time could they just lessen it a bit. Last time I OBE'd (yesterday) I had no waves of consciousness, and even the vibration has lessened. If you read up about OBEs and Astral Projection and decide you don't want to pursue it, it could be worth saying to your guides, "this is really scaring me, please take it away." I think you are perfectlly normal and just becoming more spiritual that's all. This may be a natural progression of your development. As I said at the beginning, I don't have all the answers, and I might be way off the mark. This was the answer for me, but not for you. But if it weren't for the people on that forum suggesting OBE's, I would still be exhausted and scared that I was crazy. Since then I've learned how to use the symptoms to get out of body and have some great experiences. I would suggest as well as reading all you can about this, a visit to a doctor might put some of your fears at rest about an organic cause. best wishes, xxxmspositive |

So I read your post and prayed into it this is what I got: I hear "scared," and what that seems to mean to me is that your fears of this are causing the symptoms. I don't know what the root cause of this is, but somewhere along the line you became scared and started giving off a negative aura. Something is taking advantage of that and feeding off of your fears. Personally I've been told to disregard negative or demonic dreams, after all what's the point of focusing on them if they were put there with negative attentions? A good sign of whether a dream is good or bad is if it gives you fear (not a fear of reverence, but rather a terrifying fear). I also feel like whatever it is keeps telling you that you are alone in all of this, and that no one really understands what you are going through. It also seems to be saying to you that these problems are going to keep escalating and that they could jump onto your friends and family. Well you should know that all of these negative thoughts that are being inserted into your head are a lie. You are not alone for this, we are standing beside you in thought and in spirit. We do know what your going though too, and a lot of us have been there. I had seven demons inside of me and a spirit of fear that terrified me for about a week straight. I know it can be very frightening, but you just need to take faith that everything will be okay. Also these problems are not going to escalate or affect your friends and family, because they are going to be taken care of ASAP. Maybe the root of this is that you're starting to astral project (which is really cool). I'm not addressing the root of situation here, but rather the fear that has taken advantage of it. 1. My advice to you in the meantime is this focus on positive things. Think about how much the Source/Creator/God loves and cares about you (I'm a Christian, so I would think about how much Jesus loves me, and how he will do anything to protect me.). 2. You can try the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram, although if you're not familiar/comfortable with it that's fine too. 3. Listen to positive music while you sleep. My favorite is Julie True, everyone I've ever met who has sleeping problems sleeps like a baby to her music. Her music carries a ridiculous amount of peace, rest, and soothing love with it. Also she has a free online healing room that you can stream while you sleep (It can be found here). I'll also take some of that fear and negative energy that is clinging onto you onto myself (Don't worry about me though, I'll burn as much of it as I can tonight then give the rest up to Jesus. May the peace of Jesus rest on you during the night and the day, -Child of God (I'm praying for you) |

The shaking could be a spirit trying to get into the holes in your aura. The dreams w/ mirrors could be a past life, as i have heard people ask to see a past life in a mirror b4. I have the same banging and other probs, and didnt get any sleep last night. I had evn worse problems when i was little, and my third eye probably has been open since i duno when, since i still remember asking my grandma about the colored "static" that i saw when we got home from a late night {a sign of a high vibrational third eye, ive heard}. I have always been able to see those colored spots like static on a tv whenever i close my eyes. Right b4 sleep i hear voices that arent my own internal voices, i can tell. Sometimes i tell them to leave and they listen, but other times the will start making noise. They are now either more of them, or they are more persistient, because the disturbances are getting louder, and things are being pushed off tables in the middle of the night. The biggest proof is that whenever i enter my room, i hear multiple noises, but when its anyone else, it is softer, and others say they can hear them. I have psi barriers up at all times, so they are not able to touch me right b4 i fall asleep, which used to make me wake right back up.

hi, my sleep paraylsis had escalated to another level. My pregnant wife, has been sleeping with me, she usually stays overseas and recently came back. I suddenly have the ability to read what is in her heart. subsequently, my mind can hear what people feel. The banging noises escalated more and more. I managed to put my dad's death behind but I just feel that somehow something is choking me and not wanting me to return to reality. |

Well I don't mean to barge in here while you are hoping for a response from someone else! However reading your post Amethyst kept coming to me. It is a protective stone and helps with sleep. If you put Amethyst in four corners of the room it should help add some great protection. Even small little stones will do. Meditation! Clear the mind. If you have it in your area i would personally burn some Nag Champa. It releases powerful energy clearing, protective, uplifting vibrations. An ancient incense used in Buddhist temples for hundreds of years it is still a staple of Buddhist temples to this day and can help with meditation. Meditating can also help you reach your higher self, guardians, and spirit guides. It has so many wonderful attributes to better your life I could write a novella in a weak attempt to list them all. While meditating you put yourself in a great place to create a protective shield, ask for protection, ect. Erin Pavlina has some great articles on Meditation, spirit guide, and higher self attainment as well as some humorous off beat topics. Erin Pavlina Articles Best of Luck. |

Dear Freshmilk, firstly i am so sorry for the loss of your father to this terrible illness. I have lost several members of my family to this and know how you must be feeling! When we go through a traumatic experience our mind and bodies often go out of balance and we suffer stress amongst other things.Stress alone can cause some of your symptoms.I believe that you are probably suffering from sleep paralysis and EHS.However i think, because you are a sensitive person,(being able to sense your father's presence)it's possible that the trauma of his death has kick started your psychic awareness. There are people who have had a head injury, or shock to the system, and have suddenly become very psychic, which may explain some of your symtoms,i.e. being able to hear your wifes thoughts(telepathy) A good way to relax and get your body into balance is to meditate.Listen to some soothing music and try and quieten the mind.Ask your Angel/Guides to surround you with love and protection and help you to get through this difficult time. There are some good links, on the Spiritual and awareness forum,on how to meditate and meet your Guides/Angels. Lastly don't be afraid! What ever is happening, your Angel/Guides know about! Sometimes we have to experience certain things for a reason, although the reason may not become apparent at once. They are always with you and you only need to ask for help. Also it wouldn't be a bad idea to talk to someone of your loss. You may not realise how much it has affected you.Talking to someone other than family can really help.Love and light Last edited by angel A; 07-05-2011 at 09:04 AM. |

| Sleep Paralysis: What it is and How to Avoid it | PickTheBrain | Motivation and Self Improvement Sleep paralysis. You'll hear about it alot if you study sleep psychology. This and myoclonic jerks. It's a common phenomenon and it has occurred throughout several spans of culture and history from reports of "ghosts" to "demons". All I know is, I only experience it when I take pain killers, vicodin or percosetts. (Spelling?). Other than that, I never had nightmares, especially ones that made me see things in sleep and know that I can't move my body. I've never believed it was spirit related, mostly because I don't believe in spirits, ghosts, or demons. My own experience, I believe this dreaming related experience are related to how the brain balances dopamine while sleeping, don't really want to get into it, but because of the nature of sleep paralysis and the brain chemical balance, I believe the brain needs to compensate for levels of dopamine by diseminating into surrounding brain areas and it ends up stimulating "negative" areas connected with the amygdala. I have no evidence for my theory but it's better than "spirits" in my opinion. Regardless of what I think, I hope they stop for you. GL. |

I wanted to take the time to register and reply to this post, partly because I came here looking for answers to some of your questions myself, and partly because I feel you can be guided further if you study your dreams a bit more. My own story and reason why I'm here is this: Last night I experienced EHS (Exploding Head Syndrome) myself, it occured everytime I was just on the verge of sleeping and thereby woke me up. Here's the funny thing though. I was convinced it was my upstairs neighbor making noises again, so I did as I sometimes do when that happens and put my working-even-better-than-earmold Sony Ericsson earplugs in my ears, and sure enough, the next time the loud bang occured the sound was lowered significantly. This should, according to my own logic, not have happened as the phenomenon was taking place inside my own head, but it did. And so I had a good nights sleep, so if you're still struggling with EHS i recommend to try sleeping with earbuds. I'm completely sure that the sound was infact EHS, as it only occured everytime I was on the verge on sleeping, and never gave any clues to its origination in my surroundings. Now, let me start off by saying I'm not a big follower of spiritualism. As you seem to be so yourself, I completely understand if you won't find my answer very helpful. Nonetheless I feel we have alot in common; I have experienced alot of what you describe. I'm a very sensitive person. I study psychology on my own, mainly the works of C.G. Jung - he had some interesting things to say about dreams that I think alot of people would benefit from hearing. First off, let me emphasize this: Dreams are always important and never without meaning. Whether they are good or bad they always have something to tell you. In fact, dreams that are bad (like nightmares) are of the most important kind, as they represent your inner personal struggles and concerns. It is by analyzing these that you can learn how to conquer your problems and thereby ease your mind. Sometimes, just knowing what the problem is can be enough to change it. Here's a tip when trying to interpreting your dreams: Try focusing on the part that is hardest to remember. Your unconscious will try to hide this from you when you're awake, as it represents the complexes that are buried the deepest within your psyche, and thereby more integrated than smaller, less significant complexes. I'll try to put together what you have said about your dreams and give you a few pointers. First keep in mind that I'm not an expert on this subject, and as you can't interpret another persons dreams completely without having significant knowledge about that persons life and psychological makeup, these are just pointers and nothing more. However there are symbols that are recognized as having more or less definite meanings when occuring in dreams. I'll be using the site An Online Guide To Dream Interpretation as they base alot of their material on Jung's research, and I often use this when interpreting my own dreams. Quote:
Quote:
The dream where you almost hit the dogs with your car is interesting, and also abit tricky as there are alot of symbols going on at the same time. The car signifies your ambition level, and if you're driving a car then it means that you're taking steps to be in control of your own life. Dogs symbolize intuition, loyalty, generosity, protection, and fidelity. By almost hitting the dogs, this could mean that, in taking steps to gain control of your life, you are forgetting the things that the dogs represent (hence bringing them in danger). When they're chasing you, it may mean that you are 'running away' from these aspects of yourself. I recommend reading these passages about chase dreams, which are very common: Dream Moods: Common Dreams: Being Chased 1) Is this experiences I am facing due to me facing my inner demons? I have faced my past inner demons before. I very much believe it is. One of the most important things to remember about life is that it is constantly changing, always coming up with new challenges. You must always be ready to face these challenges, and to do this requires a healthy state of mind. Due to recent events I'm not surprised you have trouble on this point. I think the answer here is pretty straight forward. Your father is likely in a peaceful state right now, and your subconscious is trying to tell you this, as to ease your mind. You need to learn to cope with not having him in your life anymore. Helping others is only a good thing, and I can't see it having a negative effect on you. 4) They say dreams send a message. Can I know what message that my subconsious is sending to me? I would like to have a normal life back but I can't seem to sleep well. How do I stop these things from happening to me? Well, my advice is to analyze your dreams further. Perhaps seek help from an analytical psychologist. The one who told you he/she couldn't help was not a real psychologist. 5) What does these shivering and shaking of my whole body means? Why do I keep losing control of my body when I am drifting to sleep? They are symptoms of your stressed mind taking form as these abnormalities in your body. That is the best answer I can give you. 6) Why do I keep hearing Slams, Bangs and loud noises just before I sleep or when I feel the most vunerable? See above answer. 7) Why do I keep dreaming of mirrors and seeing myself? Are all these connected to my shivering, loud noises in some way or another? Yes, in my opinion these are all connected. Your psychic life is unstable and it shows itself in these peculiar ways. 8) Is it due to my sensitivity to these spitural stuff and that's why after my telepathy with my dad, it sortof opened some portal to these spirit world which now only when I was sleep, they can enter me? If so what do they want? Like I said, I'm not a believer of spiritualism. I prefer to think that everything can be explained from a psychological viewpoint. I do believe in a few things, such as channeling your energy through healing, meditating etc. But for me, I think depth psychology is the way to fully understand and develop myself as a human being. It is only a good thing that not everyone sees it that way, as it allows for different aspects of our existence here on earth to be explored. 9) Can you all please provide me a solution to my problems? I know it's very complicated. Even if you do not have all the answers to my questions, I hope to know your analysis so I can help myself. I really hope you will find my post helpful, and that you are still even reading this topic. My deepest sympathies is with you and I wish you the best of luck. Welcome to the forum laminated buddah , I think what you call ehs is realy something else . What many people get is just before going into full sleep they jerk awake. We all astral project or go out of body in certain parts of sleep. Many people think the astral body is leaving while the body is not quite asleep, and the body reacts with a jerk. This is discussed on this forum also http://www.astraldynamics.com/home/ desert rat
