Healing others and getting sick?

I actually had to be driven home from work today as my bloodpressue suddenly spiked, I was dizzy and almost passed out. This makes no sense, there is no physical cause.....
However last night, I tried to do something for my daughter that my mom used to do for me. When I was sick she would run her hands over my face and back and one time in particular I remember I was so sick this night feeling I would still be I'll in the morning but surprisingly the next day I was fine!

Well my daughter had a fever for many days and last night it was still pretty high, we were going to take her to the doctor again, but last night I did what I described above and this morning she woke up fine.

I really have no clue what I am doing, I just intended to make her better but I am wondering if I took some of it on myself. Note- my symptoms are not anything like hers so it isnt a case of catching what she had. Does anyone know about this sort of stuff?

Oh yes, this is quite common. The advice is to let go of the result when you are trying to help someone. But I know, it is difficult, especially if it's a person we care for a lot.

Another thing: don't use your own energy but ask for the healing energy from the Universe which you then channel through your heart. I don't want to go into any length here but it may help if you wash your forearms and hands under a running water or hold the palms of your hands above a candle flame for a while after the healing.

Reiki attunement would be helpful if you wish to do some more healing.

Can this be done on my own? I don't want to have to pay someone for classes etc.

Hi Mud. I have been a Reiki Master for more than 20 years. What you experienced is the first stages of an awakening healing power within you called empathic healing, the second stage is called magnetic or electromagnetic healing and is commonly referred to as Vibrational healing. Reiki falls into the second stage category. There are many books that may be of help. Check out Barbara Brennan's "Hands of Light" it can explain much about vibrational healing.
