Suddenly seeing unfamiliar faces with closed eyes

I was sure I just posted this topic, but it didn't appear so I must have been distracted enough to click something wrong. If, however, it does appear, then please excuse the error.

Does it mean anything to see unfamiliar faces when closing your eyes for a mere few seconds?

It is something that has been happening to me for a long time, although it hadn't occured for a while until just a moment ago.

Moments ago, I was listening to some music and thinking about being alone and how it brings me down. I then brushed the thought aside just briefly and closed my eyes, when a girl's face appeared so very vividly in my mind.

Over the years, I must have seen hundreds to thousands of unknown faces and they really are both brief and vivid, bearing in mind it can happen at any point and all it takes is me closing my eyes briefly enough for the image to burst into my mind.

Does this have any meaning?

I can guess at sevral possibalites. They could be faces of random people you pased by , street, bus ,train , ect. and forgot. The might be part of the colective concious mind we are all part of. They could be people from past lives . Just my random thoughts. desert rat

When I am falling asleep. It used to happen a lot with my ex-boyfriend and stopped happening, but sometimes when I get really high still...

I wonder what the frick that is all about. Maybe they're just random memories but why certain ones? What makes the neurons connect?

It's happened to me a couple of times, both times when I was falling asleep. Out of nowhere I saw the most vivid face of a native-American looking male. The second time I saw a very old white woman. I have never seen faces like that in my mind's eye so vividly before, or ever again.

I think it means you aren't as alone as you may think. If it were me, I'd try communicating with one next time (out loud, or with your thoughts), and see what happens.

It's a tricky one to me.

Desertrat, you could be right, though I wonder why, as Spacecadetglow was saying, these faces in particular come up. Over the years, I've seen hundreds to thousands and so I wonder about the timing of each particular face. What triggered the face I saw yesterday?

Well, in fact, maybe I can answer that...

There was something I excluded - the face that came up was that of an Asian girl.

I made the point that the face appeared around a moment in which I felt alone and troubled by it. Now, although I have no solid preference as to who I could be with in my life and I acknowledge that there is beauty in all good people, I have noticed a unique beauty in the Asian race that really draws my attention, though I've never had an Asian partner. Additionally, I am greatly drawn to Asian culture, such as Chinese, which has an impact on my life, so when I do think about being with somebody, it comes as no surprise that there are times when I think of somebody of Asian descent.

It makes me think about dreams and how in them we can spawn a vivid image by just thinking about it. Although I wonder how these faces appear so strongly to the conscious mind, bearing in mind, in my case, my eyes can be briefly closed and yet I can still be wide awake, it makes me wonder if we’re spawning something subconsciously without realising it and it’s making its way forward. However, at the same time, people state that anything from angels to guides can communicate through sounds, images and so forth, so could they be involved?

The only other things to keep in mind is that I felt no ‘connection’ to the face that came up and had it been a dream, I would have probably spawned another person with which I could feel something. I have also experienced faces in dramatic bursts with lots of strangers appearing, one after another, within a very short period of time. The other thing is that there isn’t always the kind of relevance that I experienced yesterday. Most of the time, it’s a face that has no noticeable connection with me or anything that is going on with me at that point. It happens regardless of what is on my mind and where I’m at in life.

Anthoneee suggests a good point, though. Perhaps it’s worth trying to communicate and to see if anything follows up.
