Independent Agents

I remember when I read my first lucid dreaming book by Robert Waggoner, entering a world of curiosity and suspicion when reading about independent agents. It was something boggling to my mind, imagining the idea that while there are your typical thought-forms and illusions of others, there are also the rare few that seem to completely elude the manipulation of both you and the dream. You could be the most experienced lucid dreamer, but you would have zero power over these intelligent and usually unfamiliar characters.

I remember reading about how somebody entered a hospital and became lucid around the time they shook a receptionist or nurse’s hand, noticing how it was entirely lifelike in every way. I believe another nurse was nearby and had acknowledged he had become lucid, and at that point the nurse before him said something like: ‘Now that you know we’re real, you’ll know we have a lot of information about you.’

Do correct me if I’m wrong because I could be a little off with the memory, but it’s definitely close and at that point of reading it I wondered if that was just another thought-form, a form of the higher self or maybe an entirely separate being.

My mother has often mentioned dreams in which there would be people talking about her and other things amongst themselves. They seemed to be intelligent and have this strange feeling of ‘independence’ tied to them. Sometimes, they’d then turn to her and give her information, like in one case when they were talking and then were saying how they could at least ‘give her the date’, and would turn and give my mother a date or a name or something else. I don’t know if they’re anything beyond the norm, but it’s interesting to think about.

In one of my recent dreams, I was in a store within a mall, talking to two women. I reached a point where I then started to discuss lucid dreaming to make a point about something. One of the women then made some points, views and opinions of her own and though I can’t remember what in the world they were, I know they were very intelligent points. There was another point not long after when it was time to go and the lady showed me these earrings. They were green flowers and they were glowing with the light rising and softening, rising and softening. The lady told me to take the earrings and give them to, in one sentence or another, the next person who I’m going to meet soon.

On my way out of the store, I remember the lady was also leaving, heading up a set of stairs along the wall which led to another door. I remember saying something to her about returning the earrings if I had to and she laughed and made a comment that was basically like saying ‘yeah, right…’. I then gave an ‘ok’ and made the point that I would have to bring them back and with some money, which is weird but it seemed normal in the dream and she said nothing of it.

Finally, when heading away, she called out to me and said ‘Oh, by the way, you were right about your prediction, and…’, insert blanks. However, I do remember her saying something about the 3rd and something about March and Marriage. For some reason, I had an uncle in mind at that point and believed the prediction something to do with him, though in reality I have no idea what any of it means. After that, I then turned away, now with an unknown girlfriend and went on my way.

I’m not saying she’s an independent agent, but the thought entered my mind. It was just something to think about. The only thing since then, though, is that I swear I saw similar earrings pop-up somewhere on television. I can’t place where but something came up.
